Definitions
- the invention relates to the cleaning of heat exchangers (in particular of the tubular or plate type).
- a tubular heat exchanger comprises, in a conventional manner, a plurality of tubes in which circulates a heat transfer fluid. To ensure the cleaning of the tubes, it is done, usually occasionally and repeatedly, circulate in the tubes, within the fluid, the cleaning bodies which pickle the inner walls of the tubes to prevent their fouling by the deposition of impurities conveyed by the fluid. These bodies - with a diameter slightly greater than the internal diameter of the tubes - are collected downstream of the heat exchanger and then reinjected upstream.
- one or more separation grids which, while allowing the fluid to pass through, retain the cleaning bodies and guide them towards a recycling device.
- This grid which comprises a plurality of longitudinal reinforcements (called side members) interconnected by cross members (having a spacer function) and mounted on a pivot axis, is assembled at the factory, then mounted in a block within the led, the assembly then being mounted in the heat exchanger.
- Such a design requires replacing the duct / grid assembly (s), or at least the grids when they are worn, damaged or, in any case, when their operation is no longer satisfactory.
- This replacement requires heavy intervention. It is necessary to proceed to the removal of the conduit and, possibly, pipes located upstream and downstream thereof. But the imposing dimensions of the duct require the use of a crane or any other type of mechanical lift. We must then proceed with the replacement, either of the conduit as a whole, or at least of the grid as a whole before reassembling the whole.
- the invention aims to simplify the maintenance of heat exchangers by proposing a grid whose design makes it easy to repair or replace it, as well as mounting on an existing duct devoid of separation grid.
- the subject of the invention is also a method for mounting such a separation grid in a discharge duct of a heat exchanger, according to which the grid is brought into spare parts in the duct and then assembled into the duct. of it, by mounting the longitudinal members on the axis and then fixing the spacers to the longitudinal members.
- FIG. 1 there is shown a discharge pipe 1 for a heat exchanger (not shown but whose general structure is for example in accordance with the patent application French FR 2 634 672 in the name of the plaintiff).
- This pipe 1, tubular, is disposed downstream of the heat exchanger; it is traversed by a coolant such as water, which carries spherical cleaning bodies (called “balls”) ensuring the stripping the pipes of the heat exchanger.
- a coolant such as water
- the balls are separated from the fluid by a filtration device 2 which comprises at least one filtering grid 3 mounted obliquely in the duct 1. More precisely, in accordance with the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the filtration device 2 comprises two grids 3 vis-à-vis mounted obliquely in the conduit 1 to jointly form a funnel separating the balls of the fluid and the guide to a recycling device (not shown) which reinjects the balls upstream of the heat exchanger.
- Each grid 3 comprises a plurality of equidistant parallel beams 4, mounted on a common pivot axis 5, perpendicular to the longitudinal members 4 and rotatably mounted by each of its ends 6, 7, in two bearings 8 formed by substantially diametrically opposed holes practiced. in the wall of the duct 1.
- the spars 4 are in the form of metal blades (made, in practice, stainless steel) which have a rectilinear upstream edge 9, and a curved downstream edge 10, bulged at the passage of the axis 5. Between two longitudinal members 4 adjacent is mounted a filter element (not shown) reported, which has a series of lamellae whose spacing is less than the diameter of the balls.
- a person skilled in the art can refer to the patent application French N ° FR 2 815 548 , supra, in the name of the plaintiff.
- Each spar 4 has an inner end 11, located near a vertical plane of symmetry of the duct 1, and an opposite outer end 12 located in the vicinity of the wall of the duct 1.
- the longitudinal members 4 are not of equal length: in view of the oblique arrangement of the grid 3, the outer ends 12 are distributed substantially over a elliptical contour, the central beams 4 being longer than the side members 4.
- the longitudinal members 4 are mounted on the axis by means of removable fastening means.
- each spar 4 is provided with a cylindrical sleeve 13 which protrudes from both sides at the bulge of the spar 4.
- This sleeve 13 is pierced with two pairs of diametrically coaxial holes 14, 15 opposite, whose axis is parallel to the plane of the spar 4 and perpendicular to the upstream edge 9 thereof.
- the axis 5 which is in the form of a cylindrical bar, comprises a series of conical diametrical holes 16 placed opposite each of the pairs of holes 14, 15.
- a threaded conical pin 17 is introduced together in each piercing. 16 and in each corresponding pair of holes 14, 15, so as to ensure the rigid attachment, constant spacing, the longitudinal members 4 on the axis 5.
- On each pin 17 is screwed a nut 18 which ensures the clamping.
- the grid 3 comprises a plurality of spacers 19 mounted between the longitudinal members 4.
- Each spacer 19 is in the form of a flat piece which has a central portion 20 extending between two adjacent longitudinal members 4, extended on either side by two end portions 21, 22 resting against the longitudinal members 4. As can be seen in particular on the figure 6 the spacers 19 are arranged in alignment with each other. Two sets of spacers 19 are provided, on either side of the axis 5: a first series on the side of the outer ends 12 of the longitudinal members 4, a second on the side of their inner ends 11.
- the spacers 19 are preferably inclined relative to the longitudinal members, so that each series of spacers has a V-shaped profile which turns its concavity towards the axis 5. This arrangement provides a better rigidity of the grid at the central spars 4, where the fluid flow (and thus the impact force of the balls) is maximum.
- the spacers 19 are mounted on the longitudinal members4 by means of removable fastening means. More specifically, the spacers are bolted to the longitudinal members 4. Their end portions 21, 22 are pierced with holes 23 placed opposite corresponding holes 24 formed in the longitudinal members 4. A same bolt 25 (shown on the figure 5 by its axis in dash) performs the joint fixing of two spacers 19 on either side of the same spar 4, crossing the holes 23, 24 in the end portions 21, 22 and in the spar 4 together. .
- the grid 3 further comprises a peripheral frame 26, mounted on the longitudinal members 4 by removable fastening means (in this case by bolts 27).
- the frame 26 has a generally U-shaped shape and comprises two opposite lateral flanges 28, each fixed together with the three longitudinal members 4 closest to each end 6, 7 of the axis 5, the lateral flanges 28 being connected by a flange. end 29 inclined relative to the plane in which extend the upstream edges 9 of the longitudinal members 4, and fixed at the same time to the lateral flanges 28 and the central spars 4.
- Each side edge 28 has, along the spar 4 located at the end of the axis (side spar), a cross section at right angles and comprises an upper panel 30, which extends in the plane of the upstream edges 9 of the side members 4 (this plane being parallel to the axis 5), and a lower panel 31, perpendicular to the axis 5 and by which the flange 28 is fixed to the side spar 4.
- the lower flange 31 stops at the outer end 12 of the side spar 4, while the upper flange 30 extends in an arc to the end flange 29.
- the brackets 32 welded to the upper panel 30 and bolted to the two adjacent side members 4 of the side spar 4, complete the removable attachment of the lateral flange 28 to the longitudinal members 4.
- brackets 32 The attachment of the end flange 29 to the longitudinal members 4 is provided by brackets 32, welded to the flange 29 and bolted to the central spars 4. To complete this attachment, the positioning of the end flange 29 with respect to the lateral flanges 28 may be provided by means of a pair of brackets 33 welded or glued to the end flange 29 or to the side flanges 28.
- the components of the grid 3 are fixed to each other removably, which allows to mount in situ the grid 3 in a duct 1 already in place in a heat exchanger . It is also possible to proceed to its subsequent replacement by a similar grid, without the need to remove the conduit 1. Similarly, it is possible to replace a defective part (for example a 4), remove the grid 3, replace the part, then reassemble the grid 3. This results in substantial gains in cost and maintenance time.
- a defective part for example a 4
- the grid 3 is brought into spare parts in the duct 2, then it is assembled within it, by mounting the longitudinal members 4 on the axis 5 and then fixing the spacers 19 to the longitudinal members 4, and finally by fixing the frame 26 (side edges 28 and end edge 29) to the longitudinal members 4. More specifically, the longitudinal members 4 are introduced one by one in the conduit 1 by a manhole 34, and mounted successively on the axis 5, itself gradually introduced into the conduit 1 by one of its bearings 8.
- the mounting of the spacers 4 is preferably performed after the stacking and fixing (by means of the pins) of the longitudinal members 4 on axis 5 are completed. The order of assembly is provided for information only. For example, the assembly of the spacers 19 and that of the frame 26 may be reversed.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the cleaning of heat exchangers (in particular of the tubular or plate type).
A tubular heat exchanger comprises, in a conventional manner, a plurality of tubes in which circulates a heat transfer fluid.
In order to carry out this collection, downstream of the heat exchanger, within a drainage duct, is provided one or more separation grids which, while allowing the fluid to pass through, retain the cleaning bodies and guide them towards a recycling device.
This grid, which comprises a plurality of longitudinal reinforcements (called side members) interconnected by cross members (having a spacer function) and mounted on a pivot axis, is assembled at the factory, then mounted in a block within the led, the assembly then being mounted in the heat exchanger.
Such a design requires replacing the duct / grid assembly (s), or at least the grids when they are worn, damaged or, in any case, when their operation is no longer satisfactory. This replacement requires heavy intervention.
The invention aims to simplify the maintenance of heat exchangers by proposing a grid whose design makes it easy to repair or replace it, as well as mounting on an existing duct devoid of separation grid.
- a plurality of equidistant parallel spars, mounted on a common pivot axis perpendicular to the spars, and
- a plurality of spacers mounted between the longitudinal members,
In this way, it is possible to assemble the gate in situ, that is to say within the same duct evacuation of the heat exchanger, without it being necessary to proceed with the removal of this- this.
The subject of the invention is also a method for mounting such a separation grid in a discharge duct of a heat exchanger, according to which the grid is brought into spare parts in the duct and then assembled into the duct. of it, by mounting the longitudinal members on the axis and then fixing the spacers to the longitudinal members.

This pipe 1, tubular, is disposed downstream of the heat exchanger; it is traversed by a coolant such as water, which carries spherical cleaning bodies (called "balls") ensuring the stripping the pipes of the heat exchanger.
The balls are separated from the fluid by a
The
The
The
As we have seen, the components of the
