Definitions

  • the present invention concerns a coupling arrangement between a vehicle and an implement, where in connection with the vehicle, a multipoint arrangement is provided which comprises at least an upper coupling part and a number of lower coupling parts where in connection with the implement, a triple-point arrangement is provided which comprises at least an upper coupling part and at least two lower coupling parts, and where a number of coupling members and a number of longitudinally adjustable connecting rods connect said three-point arrangement and said multipoint arrangement.
  • triple point suspension arrangements By connecting implements to a vehicle, preferably a tractor, today triple point suspension arrangements are generally used, if the implement is of a certain size and/or is to be elevated/lowered during operation.
  • the advantage of using a triple point suspension is that the implement may be kept in a predetermined vertical position as well as vertical position.
  • implements depend on the tractor being capable of lifting the implement up from the earth during transport and in other situations.
  • the implements can work the soil at a desired depth or with desired pressure due to their own weight.
  • the combination of the above provides that the tractors become large, which can be disadvantageous since soil compaction can arise in the wheel tracks after the tractors, causing the earth in the wheel tracks to be less fertile than the surrounding earth.
  • the purpose of the present invention is to indicate a coupling arrangement between an implement and a vehicle which in a simple way enables transfer of a downwards directed force from the vehicle to the implement, and which can be controlled by means of a simple control mechanism.
  • one of said lower coupling parts is connected with a drawbar of said vehicle, and where between said upper coupling part and said lower coupling parts a number of longitudinally adjustable connecting rods are provided.
  • a force parallelogram including the three- point arrangement, the multipoint arrangement, the connecting rods and the coupling members arises, where the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods are disposed diagonally in the force parallelogram.
  • the coupling arrangement By interconnecting an implement and a vehicle by means of the present coupling arrangement, the coupling arrangement is mounted on the vehicle in the initial position, and the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods are adjusted to a certain length so that they allow unencumbered coupling of the implement and lifting and lowering of the implement.
  • the coupling arrangement may be provided with a three-point arrangement which is provided on the implement, and where the aforementioned three-point arrangement is an integrated part of the implement, where in the three-point arrangement there is provided at least at least one upper coupling part and at least two lower coupling parts, and where the multipoint arrangement provided on the vehicle includes four coupling parts, including an upper coupling part and three lower coupling parts, and where one of the lower coupling parts is fastened to the drawbar of the vehicle, and where a longitudinally adjustable connecting rod at one end is fastened to the lower coupling part and at the other end is fastened to one of the upper coupling parts of the three-point arrangement, and where between the upper coupling part of the multipoint arrangement and the upper coupling parts of the three-point arrangement there is provided a longitudinally adjustable connecting rod, e.g. a top rod or a hydraulic cylinder.
  • a longitudinally adjustable connecting rod e.g. a top rod or a hydraulic cylinder.
  • the upper coupling part includes a number of coupling eyelets which are used for coupling the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods. This entails that it is no longer necessary to fasten the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods in the same coupling eyelet. They may also be fastened slightly staggered.
  • the longitudinally adjustable connecting rod which is disposed between one of the lower coupling parts of the multipoint arrangement and one of the other coupling parts of the three-point arrangement, is mounted in full length.
  • the lower coupling parts therefore include a number of coupling plates that each are provided with a number of coupling eyelets, entailing that longitudinally adjustable connecting rods with different lengths may be mounted in a set of coupling plates.
  • the lower coupling part is designed with a plurality of coupling plate sets, so that each longitudinally adjustable connecting rod is connected with a set of coupling plates.
  • These coupling plates are thus disposed with a certain mutual spacing, so that there is space between the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods.
  • the coupling arrangement according to the present invention may thereby furthermore be used for implements that need power transmission from the vehicle.
  • the lower centrally disposed coupling part is typically disposed in the drawbar of the vehicle, but may alternatively be designed so that the lower coupling parts are connected with a crossbar connecting the lower coupling parts, and so that between the upper coupling part and the lower coupling parts, a number of longitudinally adjustable connecting rods are provided.
  • the longitudinally adjustable connecting rod between the upper part of the three-point arrangement and the upper part of the multipoint arrangement will be a top rod which is adjusted once for all when the coupling arrangement is mounted on the vehicle.
  • the second longitudinally adjustable connecting rod between the lower part of the multipoint arrangement of the vehicle and the upper part of the three- point arrangement of the implement may also be a top rod.
  • the top rod is driven either mechanically, hydraulically or pneumatically so that it may be adjusted. The following is then to be performed: - a mechanically driven top rod is turned each time additional downward force is applied on the implement;
  • a hydraulically or pneumatically driven top rod may be activated so that the length is either increased or reduced.
  • a cylinder may be used as a longitudinally adjustable connecting rod between the lower part of the multipoint arrangement of the vehicle and the upper part of the three-point arrangement of the implement.
  • the cylinder may be pneumatically, hydraulically or electrically driven so that it may be activated from inside the vehicle when an increased downwards force on the implement is desired.
  • a downward force from the vehicle via a longitudinally adjustable connecting rod, the pressure on the rearmost wheel axle of the vehicle is reduced. This entails that the vehicle do not need the same amount of front weight in order to counterbalance coupling to an implement.
  • the longitudinally adjustable connecting rod between the drawbar of the vehicle and the top part of the three-point arrangement of the implement may furthermore be used for assisting lift of the heavy implement.
  • the longitudinally adjustable connecting.rods are provided with a control which is connected to the control of the vehicle.
  • the longitudinally adjustable coimecting rods are pneumatically or electrically driven, the control of the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods will be connected to the electric system of the vehicle.
  • the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods are driven hydraulically, the control of the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods will be connected to the hydraulic system of the vehicle. This entails that it is possible for the driver of the vehicle to control the longitudinally adjustable connecting rods from the vehicle and thereby attain an optimal setting of the weight transfer from the vehicle to the following implement and/or optimal depth setting of the following implement.
  • longitudinally adjustable connecting rods and/or coupling members are provided with gripping means at the free end apart from the vehicle, it is possible to couple the vehicle to a following implement without using an A-frame.
  • the arrangement is described used for coupling between implement and vehicle, but the invention may furthermore be used for coupling e.g. two implements.
