Abstract

The burner has a cylindrical fuel assembly which consists of inner and outer cylinders (1, 2) that are arranged concentrically to each other and provided with perfusion openings (3) for gas and air mixture. The cylinders are firmly supported at a common front side unit that includes an inflow opening, where the inner cylinder serves as dispensing cylinder and the outer cylinder serves as burner surface. A filler material (4) is inserted between the cylinders, where the filler material is temperature-resistant and permeable for the gas and air mixture.

Description

The invention relates to a premixing gas burner with a cylindrical fuel assembly according to the preamble of claim 1.
A gas burner of this kind is in the DE 38 31 624 A1 shown and described. In such a gas burner, the cylindrical fuel element is exposed to very high temperatures, since the flames are close to the surface. Within this outer cylinder, which serves as a burner surface and therefore has a very fine perforation, further cylinders are arranged for uniform distribution of the gas / air mixture on the surface and for acoustic decoupling of combustion chamber and mixture space. These serve as throttling and distribution cylinders, are concentric with the outer cylinder, usually have slightly larger flow openings for the gas / air mixture than the outer cylinder and are fastened together with this on the upstream end element.
Because of the high temperatures, it is possible in the known gas burner designs that the particular metallic material of the outer cylinder is loaded too high by limiting stresses and that this may cause local damage. This is due to the structure of the cylindrical fuel element, because the respective areas above the punctiform flow openings for the gas / air mixture in the inner cylinder form on the outer cylinder as cool spots, because here the gas / air mixture directly meets the inner wall of the outer cylinder. The intensive, selective cooling and the resulting uneven temperature distribution therefore lead to thermal stresses. It is also possible negative effects on the flame image, namely that due to flow also creates a somewhat uneven flame shape at the periphery of the fuel assembly.
Furthermore, the disclosure DE 42 29 070 A1 a gas burner with a bottom perforated and open-topped chamber which is filled with spherical elements. Through their gaps, the gas / air mixture flows through and burns above the ball bed or in the interstices. However, a burner surface, as in a generic premixing gas burner, is not present.

The invention is therefore based on the object of optimizing the quality of combustion and the robustness, especially with regard to the material load on the burner surface, in the case of a premixing gas burner.

This has been achieved with the features of claim 1 according to the invention. Advantageous developments can be found in the dependent claims.
The premixing gas burner is characterized in that between two cylinders a permeable to the gas / air mixture, temperature-resistant filler is introduced. In this case, the filler is located between two cylinders below the outer, serving as a burner surface cylinder, and in particular in the space to the nearest inner cylinder as a distribution cylinder.
The filler consists of particulate fillers, granules or chips, preferably of metallic or ceramic materials. The lumpy packing, granules or chips each have at least slightly larger dimensions than a single flow opening for the gas / air mixture in the inner, serving as a distribution cylinder cylinder. Alternatively or in combination therewith, the filler can also consist of a fine-meshed fabric, which is wound in at least one position around the inner cylinder as a distribution cylinder. This structure becomes very irregular and delicate, especially in the case of several layers and fine meshes. It is advantageous if the filler, at least in the intermediate space below the outer, serving as a burner surface cylinder is introduced.
With the measures according to the invention, both the combustion quality and the robustness are improved in premixing gas burners with a cylindrical fuel element. In particular, the material load on the burner surface is reduced because, according to the invention, a very uniform temperature distribution is produced at the burner surface. By introduced between two cylinders filler, especially if it is located below the burner surface, a diffuse, finely distributed flow of the gas / air mixture is generated on the outer jacket of the fuel assembly. The previously problematic direct flow from the inside to the outside, the impact on the inner wall of the outer cylinder and the resulting selective cooling of the burner surface with the resulting thermal stresses, do not occur anymore. In addition, the filler in the described variations can very easily bring in the production of a cylindrical fuel assembly. In general, the mixture distribution when using a filler between two cylinders is so uniform that can usually be dispensed with further cylinder for mixture distribution or throttling.

The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the invention and shows in a single figure a cross section through the cylindrical fuel assembly of a premixing gas burner.

The cylindrical fuel assembly consists of two concentrically arranged cylinders 1, 2, which are provided with flow openings 3 for the gas / air mixture. In this case, the inner cylinder 1 serves as a distribution cylinder and the outer cylinder 2 as a burner surface. Between the two cylinders 1, 2 there is a permeable to the gas / air mixture, temperature-resistant filler 4, with the most diffuse, finely distributed flow of the gas / air mixture is generated before reaching the burner surface.
