Description

The invention relates to an oil pan of an internal combustion engine, which is cast from a ferrous material and has a circumferential flange surface with which the oil pan can be screwed with the insertion of a seal to the crankcase of the internal combustion engine, wherein the oil pan has transverse ribs in the region of the flange.

Such an oil pan is from the EP 0 837 236 A known. This oil pan is cast from a ferrous material and has the peculiarity that the main bearing caps, which form the transverse ribs, are made in one piece with the oil sump. The oil sump with the crankcase and the cylinder head is bolted on long tie rods, which are screwed into the main bearing caps from the cylinder head via the crankcase.

Another oil pan is from the DE 35 20 176 C1 known. Also, this oil pan has transverse ribs, which are independent of the main bearing caps.

The invention has for its object to provide an oil pan for an internal combustion engine, which is on the one hand resistant to bending and torsionally formed, on the other hand is particularly suitable for installation, for example, in a tractor.

This object is achieved in that the oil pan is traversed by an opening into the front side channel. First of all, the transverse ribs are arranged in such a way that they lie in the corresponding number in the area below the crankshaft main bearing cap when the oil sump is screwed to the corresponding mounting surface of the crankcase. This allows the crankshaft with the crank webs and connecting them crank pins connecting rods in the spaces between the ribs dive. Accordingly, the mounting surface of the crankcase may extend in the region directly below the crankshaft main bearing cap. As a result of this embodiment of the oil sump with the transverse ribs, a particularly flexurally rigid and torsionally rigid oil sump is thus provided which, when attached to the crankcase, further improves its acoustic properties. The oil pan penetrating, closed inside the oil pan channel is formed during the casting of the oil pan in this. According to the design of the end faces or the Anschraubflächen, the channel has extensions in the region of the end faces, which flee with the Anschraubfiächen. This Kanai contributes in a secondary function to further stiffen the oil pan, but in particular through this channel a wave is performed. This is in particular a drive shaft for the Vorderachsräder a tractor. When installing the oil pan according to the invention on an internal combustion engine, which is installed in a tractor, a transmission is mounted on one end face of the internal combustion engine and in particular of the oil pan and on the opposite end side of the front axle. In particular, the oil pan assumes a load-bearing connection between the transmission and the front axle carrier and - as stated - the shaft connecting the transmission with the front axle carrier is guided through the channel. As a result of this design, the internal combustion engine can be geodetically installed deep into the tractor and, accordingly, compared with other solutions in which the drive shaft is below the oil pan runs, the center of gravity of the tractor designed so advantageously advantageous deep.

In a further development of the invention, the transverse ribs are integrally molded with the oil pan. In this case, a good formability of the mold is made possible by the above-described clearances between the individual transverse ribs.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the oil pan at the opposite end faces on mounting surfaces. In this case, in a further embodiment, the screw-on surfaces protrude laterally beyond the longitudinal sides of the oil sump adjacent to the end faces, and in particular the part of the screw-on surfaces projecting beyond the longitudinal sides is supported in each case by ribs. In this case, each flange surface is associated with a plurality of ribs, which are arranged distributed over the height of the respective longitudinal side and can be designed differently. The design of the individual ribs takes place according to the occurring loads, which can be determined for example by appropriate calculations.

In a further development, an oil suction line is cast into the oil sump. The Ölansaugleitung opens in the region of an end face of the oil pan in the flange. In this case, when connecting the oil pan to the crankcase, a connection is created between the oil intake line and a continuing suction channel to the oil pump of the internal combustion engine. The oil suction line is preferably guided to about the middle of the bottom wall of the oil pan and there has an inlet funnel with a sieve.

In a further embodiment, a continuous, external recess is embedded in the bottom wall, which can be closed by a lid is. In this recess piping and / or wiring can be used protected.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the drawings, in which an illustrated in the figures embodiment of the invention is described in detail.

The oil pan 1 according to Fig. 1 is designed for a self-igniting internal combustion engine, for example, in the displacement range between 4 and 7 I, which is installed in a shoring of the internal combustion engine, for example in a tractor or a similar implement. The oil pan 1 is particularly rigid and torsionally stiff and has a weight in the range of 300 kg. Through the embodiment explained in detail below, the oil sump 1 takes over almost the entire supporting function of the internal combustion engine arranged between a transmission and a front axle, so that the crankcase of the internal combustion engine, for example, as required for other uses, is lightweight in weight and accordingly no essential support function can take over. The oil pan 1 is cast from a ferrous material, such as gray iron, and has a flange surface 2, with which the oil pan 1 is screwed to the crankcase of the internal combustion engine with the insertion of a corresponding seal. In the area directly below the flange 2 1 transverse ribs 3 are arranged in the oil pan, which connect the two longitudinal sides 4a, 4b of the oil pan 1 together. The transverse ribs 3 are arranged distributed along the oil pan 1, that they are each arranged below the main bearing cap of the crankshaft. The opposite end faces 5a, 5b of the oil pan 1 have mounting surfaces 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, to which a gear and a front axle carrier can be screwed. The mounting surfaces 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d extend laterally beyond longitudinal sides 4a, 4b adjacent to the end faces 5a, 5b and are supported by ribs 7 to the end faces 5a, 5b. The ribs are arranged distributed over the height of the oil pan 1, wherein in the embodiment, each mounting surface 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d via four ribs 7 to the respective end face 5a, 5b is supported. The oil pan 1 is further traversed by an opening into the end faces 5a, 5b closed channel 8. The channel 8 has at the end faces 5a, 5b extensions, which are aligned with the mounting surfaces 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d.

Into the oil pan 1 ( Fig. 2 ) an oil suction line 9 is poured, which opens into the flange 2 and extends approximately to the middle of the bottom wall 10. The bottom wall 10 has a continuous recess 11 (FIG. Fig. 1 and Fig. 3 ), which can be closed by a screw-on lid. In this recess 11 piping and / or wiring can be used protected.
