Abstract

A plasma-assisted exhaust gas-purifying device consuming less electric power and not discharging harmful gases into the air. A filter body (7) is constituted of a porous material collecting particulates in an exhaust gas (2) by causing the gas to pass through the material. A plasma recovery-type particulate filter (11) is constructed by installing a bar-like electrode (9) and a tubular electrode (10) in the filter body (7) such that plasma can be produced in the filter body (7). The particulate filter (11) is received in a filter case (12) in the middle of an exhaust pipe (3), and oxidation catalysts (16, 17) are arranged close to and across the filter (11) so that the filter (11) can have a heat retention effect.
