Abstract

It consists of a body (1) of a semi-rigid material, such as cardboard, paper or plastic, which aside from its purpose as a storage means sized to carry bottles, specifically wine bottles, is provided near the upper opening of its receptacle (3) with closure means (5) connected through attachment means (6) to the body (1) of the bag, which allow closing the bottle after it has been partially drunk, normally in a restaurant, in order to facilitate its transport and to finish a bottle of wine that has been paid for and still contains wine inside it.

Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a cardboard, paper or plastic bag specifically conceived to carry wine bottles.
  • The object of the invention is to develop a bag which, aside from its purpose as a storage means specifically sized to carry bottles, particularly wine bottles, is provided with means for closing said bottle in order to allow closing a bottle that has been previously opened and partially consumed, normally in a restaurant or bar, to allow transporting it and finishing a bottle of wine which has been paid for in full and still contains wine.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • When one or more bottles of wine are ordered in a restaurant, it is common after a time for the diners to stop drinking the contents of a bottle which still contains an appreciable volume of wine.
  • The wine left normally remains at the restaurant, so that the diner or diners who have paid for the bottle may feel that they have paid for wine that is left over, which has not been drunk yet could be drunk at another time.
  • The possibility of taking a partially full bottle of wine is not free of social prejudice, but occasionally this action is not performed due to the lack at the time of a safe seal, as the bottle cork is deformed as does not constitute a suitable means for ensuring a good seal of the bottle.
  • Moreover, the restaurant generally does not consider the option of providing customers with a suitable container or bag that ensures a convenient and discrete transport of the bottle, so that the customer is aware of the option of taking the bottle.
  • Using a conventional plastic bag is not an attractive solution for the customer, as it can give away this action to the remaining diners and trigger the aforementioned prejudices.
  • On the other hand, it is common for customers in restaurants to hesitate before asking for another bottle, eventually deciding not to as they believe they will not drink all of its contents and will thus pay for merchandise that they will not enjoy.
  • In this sense, the development of a means to allow closing and carrying partially drunk wine bottles would meet the needs of certain customers, and in addition would benefit the restaurant by encouraging more bottles of wine to be ordered.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The bag for carrying wine bottles that constitutes the object of this invention meets the expectations described above in a satisfactory manner by integrating in a single element the capacity to store, carry and seal at least one partially drunk bottle of wine.
  • In this sense the bag mainly consists of an elongated body that can be preferably made of cardboard, without prejudice of other materials such as paper or plastic, in which is defined a receptacle specifically sized to house the wine bottle(s) entirely, provided with handles to facilitate carrying it and being additionally provided with means for closing the bottle related to the body of the bag.
  • The bag will be provided with creases in order to facilitate its storage, normally folded, thereby reducing the space occupied by it. These creases will allow folding out the bag until determining the receptacle with a square or rectangular prism shape which will house the bottle or bottles of wine.
  • The means for closing the wine bottle will normally consist of a plug, preferably located near the top opening of the bag, attached to the body of the bag by attachment means which will also be provided with a storage capability, such as a sealed plastic bag housing the closing means.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • To complete the description being made and in order to aid a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to an example of a preferred embodiment, a set of drawings is accompanied forming an integral part of said description where for purposes of illustration only and in a non-limiting sense the following is shown:
    • Figure 1.- Shows a perspective view of the bag object of the invention in a folded position.
    • Figure 2.- Shows a perspective view of the bag in an unfolded position showing the means for closing the bottle and the means for attaching said closure means to the body.
    • Figure 3.- Shows a view of the bag with a bottle inside it, suitably sealed by the closure means.
    PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of the figures referred to above, a possible embodiment is described below of the bag for carrying wine bottles object of this invention.
  • The bag described below comprises a body (1) made of a semirigid material, such as cardboard, paper or plastic, provided with creases (2) to facilitate unfolding it from a folded position until it defines a large receptacle (3) with a prismatic configuration, normally square or rectangular, meant to house at least one bottle of wine and which is provided with handles (4) that facilitate carrying it.
  • From this basic construction, the bag for carrying wine bottles stands our mainly in that near the upper opening of the receptacle (3) it is provided with sealing means (5) that close the partially drunk bottle, connected by attachment means (6) to the body (1) of the bag.
  • In a possible embodiment the attachment means (6) that connect the means (5) for closing the bottle and the body (1) can consist of a sealed plastic bag that houses the closure means and is adhered to the body (1).
  • In addition, in a typical realisation of the invention the means (5) for closing the bottle can consist of a cork.
