Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a bed and more particularly, it relates to a bed which can be switched between a form suitable for a baby bed and a form suitable for an adult bed.
  • a baby is put on a baby bed surrounded by a frame until almost one year passes from its birth in general. As the baby is grown up, the baby bed becomes unnecessary.
  • the baby bed itself is only used for the baby to sleep, it is not damaged so much, so that it has a good chance to be recycled. If the baby who used the baby bed can use this bed after grown up, a sense of appreciation for things can be grown up in the mind. In addition, if the baby bed which is changed in its form can be used after the baby is grown up, since a memory of affection received from a parent in the babyhood can be continued for a long period of time, a warm feeling can be grown up.
  • a length of a bed floor frame can be adjusted.
  • the length of the bed floor frame is short in the babyhood and the length of the bed floor frame is increased as the baby is grown up.
  • a bed member made of a cloth and the like is hung from upper parts of a head part frame and a foot part frame of the baby bed through strings in order to put a baby just after its birth to sleep well.
  • the bed member can be rocked above a floorboard.
  • a bed member is hung so as to be rocked from upper parts of a head part frame and a foot part frame of the baby bed through four coil springs.
  • the baby bed can be used as an adult bed by increasing the length of the bed floor frame.
  • a width dimension of the bed is the same in the form of the baby bed and in the form of the adult bed. Therefore, when an adult uses the bed in the form of the adult bed, the width dimension is not enough.
  • the bed member is supported by the strings or the coil springs extending downward from the head part frame and the foot part frame.
  • the rocking direction of the bed member is not fixed so that the rocking movement cannot be stable.
  • a bed according to the present invention is characterized in that by using a baby bed frame comprising a rectangular floorboard and a surrounding frame which surrounds the rectangular floorboard, it can be switched between a form of a rocking baby bed which supports and rocks a baby in a space positioned above the rectangular floorboard, a form of a fixed baby bed in which the baby is put on the rectangular floorboard surrounded by the surrounding frame and positioned at a predetermined height, and a form of a large-size bed in which a person lie down on a floorboard having a larger bed area at a lower position as compared with the rectangular floorboard in the form of the fixed baby bed.
  • the bed When the baby is just after its birth, the bed is used in the form of the rocking bed. In the next stage of the growth of the baby, the bed is used in the form of the fixed bed. After the baby is grown up to a student or an adult, the bed is used in the form of the large-size bed having the larger bed area at the lower position.
  • the rectangular floorboard is provided such that its height can be adjusted in the form of the fixed baby bed.
  • the rectangular floorboard is fixed at a high position because the baby can be easily nursed and there is almost no risk of falling down. Meanwhile, after the baby is grown up, since the baby moves actively, the rectangular floorboard is positioned at a low position in view of preventing the baby from falling down.
  • the large-size bed can be changed between a form of a child bed having a relatively small bed area, and a form of an adult bed having a relatively large bed area.
  • the bed can take a form suitable for the stage of the student or the adult.
  • the floorboard in the form of the large-size bed is formed using a part of the surrounding frame.
  • a height of the surrounding frame in the baby bed is greater than a width dimension of a bed floor in general. Therefore, when a part of the surrounding frame is used for the floorboard of the large-size bed, a sufficient bed width dimension can be provided.
  • the bed in the form of the rocking baby bed comprises a rectangular bed member having one side end and the other side end, a first connection member, and a second connection member.
  • the first connection member connects the one side end of the bed member to an upper end of one side of the surrounding frame in a plane and holds the one side end of the bed member in a state it is suspended above the rectangular floorboard.
  • the second connection member connects the other side end of the bed member to an upper end of the other side of the surrounding frame in a plane and holds the other side end of the bed member in a state it is suspended above the rectangular floorboard.
  • the first connection member and the second connection member are made of a cloth. More preferably, the first connection member and the second connection member extend in a direction of a plumb line. In this constitution, the bed member can implement the parallel rocking movement while it is maintained in a horizontal state.
  • the cloth of the first connection member or the second connection member is mounted on the frame of the bed in a folded state, in the form of the fixed baby bed or the large-size bed. Since the cloth has supported the baby in the form of the rocking baby bed while the mother or father devotes her or his affection to the baby, after the baby is grown up to a child, a student or an adult, the cloth which has been used in the babyhood can remind that person of the memory of affection devoted from the parent, so that a warm feeling is generated.
  • the bed in the form of the rocking baby bed comprises length adjusting means for adjusting a suspended length of at least one of the first connection member and the second connection member.
  • the bed member can selectively take the rocking state, the horizontally fixed state and the slant and fixed state. For example, when the baby is put to sleep calmly, the bed member takes the horizontally fixed state, and when the baby is nursed, the bed member takes the rocking state. In addition, when the baby is to burp after feeding, the bed member takes the slant and fixed state in which the head part is set at a slightly high position.
  • a bed 1 according to the present invention can be switched between a form of a rocking baby bed (Fig. 1), a form of a fixed baby bed (Figs. 3 and 4), and a form of a large-size bed (Figs. 5 and 6), using a frame of a baby bed comprising a rectangular floorboard 2 and a surrounding frame surrounding the rectangular floorboard 2.

  • The present invention relates to a bed and more particularly, it relates to a bed which can be switched between a form suitable for a baby bed and a form suitable for an adult bed.
  • 2. Description of the Background Art
  • A baby is put on a baby bed surrounded by a frame until almost one year passes from its birth in general. As the baby is grown up, the baby bed becomes unnecessary.
  • Since the baby bed itself is only used for the baby to sleep, it is not damaged so much, so that it has a good chance to be recycled.
  • This kind of baby bed is disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2004-41629, for example. According to a baby bed disclosed in this document, a length of a bed floor frame can be adjusted. The length of the bed floor frame is short in the babyhood and the length of the bed floor frame is increased as the baby is grown up.
  • According to a baby bed disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Utility Model Publication No. 63-202353, a bed member made of a cloth and the like is hung from upper parts of a head part frame and a foot part frame of the baby bed through strings in order to put a baby just after its birth to sleep well. The bed member can be rocked above a floorboard.
  • According to a baby bed disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Utility Model Publication No. 2-28653, a bed member is hung so as to be rocked from upper parts of a head part frame and a foot part frame of the baby bed through four coil springs.
  • In the case of the baby bed disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2004-41629, the baby bed can be used as an adult bed by increasing the length of the bed floor frame. However, a width dimension of the bed is the same in the form of the baby bed and in the form of the adult bed. Therefore, when an adult uses the bed in the form of the adult bed, the width dimension is not enough.
  • In the case of the rocking bed disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Utility Model Publication No. 63-202353 or in Japanese Unexamined Utility Model Publication No. 2-28653, the bed member is supported by the strings or the coil springs extending downward from the head part frame and the foot part frame. In the structure in which the bed member is supported by the strings or the coil springs, the rocking direction of the bed member is not fixed so that the rocking movement cannot be stable.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • It is an object of the present invention to provide a bed which can be used from a stage of a baby just after its birth to a stage of an adult in an optimal form in each stage.
  • When the baby is just after its birth, the bed is used in the form of the rocking bed. In the next stage of the growth of the baby, the bed is used in the form of the fixed bed. After the baby is grown up to a student or an adult, the bed is used in the form of the large-size bed having the larger bed area at the lower position.
  • Preferably, the rectangular floorboard is provided such that its height can be adjusted in the form of the fixed baby bed. For the baby at a few months of age, the rectangular floorboard is fixed at a high position because the baby can be easily nursed and there is almost no risk of falling down. Meanwhile, after the baby is grown up, since the baby moves actively, the rectangular floorboard is positioned at a low position in view of preventing the baby from falling down.
  • Preferably, the large-size bed can be changed between a form of a child bed having a relatively small bed area, and a form of an adult bed having a relatively large bed area. Thus, the bed can take a form suitable for the stage of the student or the adult.
  • Preferably, the floorboard in the form of the large-size bed is formed using a part of the surrounding frame. A height of the surrounding frame in the baby bed is greater than a width dimension of a bed floor in general. Therefore, when a part of the surrounding frame is used for the floorboard of the large-size bed, a sufficient bed width dimension can be provided.
  • Preferably, the bed in the form of the rocking baby bed comprises a rectangular bed member having one side end and the other side end, a first connection member, and a second connection member. The first connection member connects the one side end of the bed member to an upper end of one side of the surrounding frame in a plane and holds the one side end of the bed member in a state it is suspended above the rectangular floorboard. The second connection member connects the other side end of the bed member to an upper end of the other side of the surrounding frame in a plane and holds the other side end of the bed member in a state it is suspended above the rectangular floorboard. In this constitution, since the first connection member and the second connection member connect the one side end and the other side end of the bed member to the surrounding frame, the rocking direction of the bed member is fixed and stable rocking movement can be implemented.
  • Preferably, the first connection member and the second connection member are made of a cloth. More preferably, the first connection member and the second connection member extend in a direction of a plumb line. In this constitution, the bed member can implement the parallel rocking movement while it is maintained in a horizontal state.
  • Preferably, the cloth of the first connection member or the second connection member is mounted on the frame of the bed in a folded state, in the form of the fixed baby bed or the large-size bed.
When the length adjusting means is provided, the bed member can selectively take the rocking state, the horizontally fixed state and the slant and fixed state.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • First, a fundamental constitution of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 6, and then a concrete constitution of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 7 to 9. In these drawings, the same reference numerals designate the same or equivalent components.
Referring to Figs. 1 to 4, a head part frame 3 positioned on the head side and a foot part frame 4 positioned on the foot side are illustrated as the surrounding frame.
  • According to the form of the baby bed shown in Figs. 1 to 4, the rectangular floorboard 2 is supported by the surrounding frame (the head part frame 3 and the foot part frame 4, for example) and positioned at a predetermined height. Preferably, the rectangular floorboard 2 is provided such that its height can be adjusted.
  • According to the form of the rocking baby bed shown in Fig. 1, a baby is supported so as to be rocked in a space positioned above the rectangular floorboard 2. That is, the bed 1 comprises a rectangular bed member 106 having one side end and the other side end, a first connection member 107 and a second connection member 108. The first connection member 107 connects the one side end of the bed member 106 to an upper end of the head part frame 3 in a plane, and holds the one side end of the bed member 106 in a state the side end thereof is suspended above the rectangular floorboard 2. The second connection member 108 connects the other side end of the bed member 106 to an upper end of the foot part frame 4 in a plane, and holds the other side end of the bed member 106 in a state the side end thereof is suspended above the rectangular floorboard 2.
  • The form of the rocking baby bed shown in Fig. 1 is applied to a baby after a few months of age. In addition, in the form of rocking baby bed shown in Fig. 1, a length L1 of the bed member 106 is shorter than a length L2 of the rectangular floorboard 2. A height of the rectangular floorboard is H1.
  • A suspended length of at least one of the first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 can be adjusted. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 2, when the suspended length of the second connection member 108 is increased and the other side end of the bed member 106 comes in contact with rectangular floorboard 2, for example, the bed member 106 is fixed in a slant state in which the head side is slightly higher. For example, this state is applied after the baby is fed. The first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 are preferably made of a cloth.
  • Figs. 3 and 4 show the form of the fixed baby bed. When the baby is grown up and it becomes unnecessary to be rocked, this state is implemented by removing the bed member 106, the first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 from the surrounding frame. While the baby does not move actively, the rectangular floorboard 2 is set at the relatively high position (H1) as shown in Fig. 3 and after the baby starts to move actively, the rectangular floorboard 2 is set at a relatively low position (H2) as shown in Fig. 4. The removed first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 made of the cloth are folded into small pieces and put into a flat bag or a case and mounted on the head part frame 3, for example.
  • Figs. 5 and 6 show the form of the large-size bed. In this state, the surrounding frame forming the baby bed is exploded and a part of the surrounding frame is used to form a floorboard A, a head part frame B and a foot part frame C in the large-size bed. Referring to Fig. 5, space members D and E are arranged on a head side end and a foot side end of the floorboard A, respectively so as to become suitable for a child. The space members D and E are mattresses or storage boxes, for example. According to the form of the adult bed shown in Fig. 6, the space members are not provided. Therefore, according to the form of the child bed shown in Fig. 5, a length L3 of a bed surface is shorter than a length L4 of a bed surface in the form of the adult bed shown in Fig. 6. In addition, a height H3 of the floorboard A in the form of the large-size bed shown in Figs. 5 and 6 is lower than the height H1 or H2 of the rectangular floorboard 2 in the form of the baby bed. In the form of the large-size bed also, the removed first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 made of the cloth are folded into small pieces and put in a flat bag or a case and mounted on the head part frame B, for example.
  • Next, a concrete constitution of the bed will be described with reference to Figs. 7 to 19.
  • Although the bed according to this embodiment of the present invention can be switched between the form of the rocking baby bed, the form of the fixed baby bed, and the form of the large-size bed, using the frame of the baby bed, illustration of the structure regarding the rocking baby bed is omitted in Figs. 7 to 11 and illustration of the structure regarding the large-size bed is omitted in Figs. 12 to 19 as a matter of convenience.
  • Fig. 7 shows the bed 1 in the form suitable for the baby bed and Figs. 9 and 10 show the bed 1 in the form suitable for the adult bed. The term "adult" used in this specification means not only an adult but also a child such as a primary school student, a junior high school student and senior high school student.
  • Referring to Fig. 7, a fundamental constitution of the bed 1 will be described. The bed 1 in the form of the baby bed comprises the rectangular floorboard 2 and the surrounding frame which surrounds the rectangular floorboard 2. Although the surrounding frame has a latticed configuration in general, it has a simple flat plate configuration in the drawing as a matter of convenience.
  • The surrounding frame comprises the head part frame 3 positioned on the head side of the baby on the floorboard 2, the foot part frame 4 positioned on the foot side, the left side frame 5 positioned on the left and a right side frame (not shown) positioned on the right. The right side frame (not shown) is provided such that it can be slid vertically or removed. Casters 11 are mounted on four corner parts in the bottom of the baby bed for moving. The caster 11 is detachably provided and it is removed in the form of the adult bed.
  • The rectangular floorboard 2 has legs 2a protruding downward at a head end and a foot end thereof. In order to adjust the height of the rectangular floorboard 2, each of the head part frame 3 and the foot part frame 4 has a plurality of holes 9 provided so as to be spaced vertically. In an illustrated state, the height of the rectangular floorboard 2 is fixed by four screws 8 (two in the head part frame 3 and two in the foot part frame 4) fit in the holes positioned uppermost. For the baby at a few months of age, the rectangular floorboard 2 is fixed at a high position because the baby can be easily nursed and there is almost no risk of falling down. Meanwhile, as the baby is grown up, since the baby starts to move actively, the rectangular floorboard 2 is positioned at a low position in view of preventing the baby from falling down.
  • When the baby bed becomes unnecessary after the baby is grown up, it can be used as a desk for the child by removing the right side frame as shown in Fig. 7.
  • The head part frame 3 includes an inner head part frame 3a which is turnably connected to the left side frame 5 through a hinge (not shown), and an outer head part frame 3b which is turnably connected to the inner head part frame 3a through a hinge (not shown). The foot part frame 4 includes an inner foot part frame 4a which is turnably connected to the left side frame 5 through a hinge (not shown), and an outer foot part frame 4b which is turnably connected to the inner foot part frame 4a through a hinge 10. Thus, since each can be turnably connected through the hinge, it can be easily changed into the above form and folded down.
  • As shown in the drawing, a pair of head part projection members 6 are fixed and mounted on upper and lower end faces of the outer head part frame 3b. The pair of head part projection members 6 extends and projects to upper and lower end faces of the inner head part frame 3a. In addition, each projection member 6 has a hole 6a in which the screw 8 fits.
  • Apair of foot part projection members 7 is fixed and mounted on upper and lower end faces of the outer foot part frame 4b. The pair of foot part projection members 7 extends and projects to the upper and lower end faces of the inner foot part frame 4a. In addition, each foot part projection member 7 has a hole 7a to which the screw 8 fits.
  • Fig. 8 shows a state in which the outer head part frame 3b and the inner head part frame 3a are turned and a state in which the outer foot part frame 4b and the inner foot part frame 4a are turned. The inner head part frame 3a and the inner foot part frame 4a can be turned from a state in which they extend in the same plane as the left side frame 5 (refer to Fig. 10) to a state in which they are turned inside to overlap with the left side frame 5 (refer to Fig. 11). In addition, the outer head part frame 3b and the outer foot part frame 4b can be turned from a state in which they extend in the same plane with the inner head part frame 3a and inner foot part frame 4a, respectively (refer to Fig. 7) to a state in which they are turned outside to overlap with them (refer to Fig. 11).
  • According to the form of the baby bed shown in Fig. 7, since the head part frame 3 and the foot part frame 4 are fixed to the rectangular floorboard 2 by the screws 8, the configuration of the surrounding frame comprising the head part frame 3, the foot part frame 4, the left side frame 5 and the right side frame (not shown) is fixed.
  • When the form of baby bed shown in Fig. 7 is changed to the form of the adult bed shown in Figs. 9 and 10, the four screws 8 are removed and the rectangular floorboard 2 and the right side frame (not shown) are separated. In addition, the four casters are also removed. Fig. 8 shows this state.
  • From the state shown in Fig. 8, an inner surface of the left side frame 5 is brought so as to be opposed to a floor surface and the inner head part frame 3a and inner foot part frame 4a are brought to extend in the same plane as that of the left side frame 5. As shown in Figs. 9 and 10, since the inner head part frame 3a and the inner foot part frame 4a abut on both end faces of the left side frame 5 without any space and extend in the same plane, they do not turned any more.
  • As shown in Figs. 9 and 10, the outer head part frame 3b and the outer foot part frame 4b are turned by 90 degrees with respect to the inner head part frame 3a and inner foot part frame 4a, respectively. This state is fixed by fitting the four screws 8 which were used to fix the rectangular floorboard 2, into the holes 6a of the head part projection members 6 and the holes 7a of the foot part projection members 7. More specifically, the pair of head part projection members 6 fixed to the outer head part frame 3b, and the inner head part frame 3a are fixed by the two screws 8, and the pair of foot part projection members 7 fixed to the outer foot part frame 4b, and the inner foot part frame 4a are fixed by the two screws 8.
  • As shown in Figs. 9 and 10, in the form of the adult bed, the pair of head part projection members 6 and the pair of foot part projection members 7 serve as legs to support the floorboard of the adult bed in a state the floorboard is spaced from the floor surface. The floorboard of the adult bed comprises the left side frame 5, the inner head part frame 3a and the inner foot part frame 4a. In addition, the outer head part frame 3b and the outer foot part frame 4b become a head side frame member and a foot side frame member, respectively. The floorboard 2 used in the form of the baby bed is used to support the horizontally extending floorboard of the adult bed from beneath and keep the horizontal state of the floorboard stable in the form of the adult bed. The leg 2a of the floorboard 2 has a length so as to provide such function.
  • Fig. 11 shows a bed in a folded state when it is transported or stored in a storage. As shown in the drawing, the inner head part frame 3a overlaps with the left side frame 5 and the outer head part frame 3b overlaps with the inner head part frame 3a. Similarly, the inner foot part frame 4a overlaps with the left side frame 5 and the outer foot part frame 4b overlaps with the inner foot part frame 4a. In addition, the floorboard 2 and the right side frame (not shown) overlap with the folded structure. Since this folded bed is relatively small, space can be effectively used at the time of transportation and storage.
  • The present invention focuses on a structure of the baby bed itself also. That is, as shown in Figs. 7, 8 and 11, the baby bed 1 according to the present invention comprises the rectangular floorboard 2 and the surrounding frame which surrounds the rectangular floorboard 2. The surrounding frame includes the head part frame 3 positioned on the head side, the foot side frame 4 positioned on the foot side, and the side part frames 5 positioned on the sides. The head part frame 3 includes the inner head part frame 3a turnably connected to the side part frame 5 through the hinge, and the outer head part frame 3b turnably connected to the inner head part frame 3a through the hinge. The foot part frame 4 includes the inner foot part frame 4a turnably connected to the side part frame 5 through the hinge and the outer foot part frame 4b turnably connected to the inner foot part frame 4a through the hinge. According to the baby bed having the above constitution, its folding operation can be easily performed and the size in the folded state can be small.
  • In addition, the terms "head part", "foot part", "right side", and "left side" are used to show relative positional relation as a matter of convenience.
  • The structure regarding the rocking baby bed shown in Figs. 12 to 19 is applied to the bed shown in Figs. 7 to 11.
  • Figs. 12 to 15 show one embodiment of the rocking baby bed. The baby bed 1 comprises the rectangular base wall (floorboard) 2 positioned at a predetermined height, and the surrounding frame which surrounds the base wall 2. The surrounding frame comprises the head part frame 3 positioned on the head side of the baby on the base wall 2, the foot part frame 4 positioned on the foot side, and the pair of side part frames 5 positioned on the sides.
  • Fig. 12 shows the surrounding frame by a phantom line and illustrates the rocking structure. First, a fundamental constitution of the rocking structure will be described with reference to Fig. 12.
  • The baby bed 1 comprises a rectangular bed member 106 positioned on the base wall 2 according to need, a first support frame 109 positioned above the head side end of the bed member 106 and extending almost parallel to the head side end, a second support frame 110 positioned above the foot side end of the bed member 106 and extending almost parallel to the foot side end, the first connection member 107 connecting the head side end of the bed member 106 to the first support frame 109 in a plane and holding the head side end of the bed member 106 in a suspended state, and the second connection member 108 connecting the foot side end of the bed member 106 to the second support frame 119 in a plane and holding the foot side end of the bed member 106 in a suspended state.
  • The first connection member 107 and the second connection member are preferably made of the cloth. In addition, the bed member 106 has a structure in which a flat configuration can be maintained stably.
  • Fig. 13 shows the first support frame 109 and the second support frame 110 in more detail. As shown in the drawing, the first support flame 109 is detachably mounted on the upper end of the head part frame 3 and protrudes in the front and rear of the head part frame 3. Similarly, the second support frame 110 is detachably mounted on the upper end of the foot part frame 4 and protrudes in the front and rear of the foot part frame 4.
  • An end of the first connection member 107 made of the cloth and spread in a width direction of the baby bed 1 passes through an upper surface of the first support flame 109 and then it is wound around a first core tube 111 to be fixed. The first core tube 111 is fixed to the first support flame 109 by appropriate means. Similarly, an end of the second connection member 108 made of the cloth and spread in a width direction of the baby bed 1 through an upper surface of the second support frame 110 and then it is wound around a second core tube 112 to be fixed. A suspended length of the first connection member 107 can be adjusted by adjusting a winding length of the first core tube 111. Similarly, a suspended length of the second connection member 108 can be adjusted by adjusting a winding length of the second core tube 112. Various kinds of other configurations are applied to the means for adjusting the suspended lengths of the first and second connection members.
  • Preferably, the first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 are made to extend in the direction of a plumb line. In order to implement this, a distance between the first support flame 109 and the second support frame 110 is to be almost equal to a length of the bed member 106. In this relation, the bed member 106 can implement parallel rocking movement while keeps a horizontal state as shown by the phantom line in Fig. 13.
  • The baby bed 1 can select its state from the rocking state shown in Fig. 13, the horizontally fixed state shown in Fig. 14 and the slant state shown in Fig. 15 by adjusting the suspended lengths of the first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108.
  • In the state shown in Fig. 13, the suspended lengths of the first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 are decreased and the bed member 106 is positioned above the base wall 2. Therefore, the bed member 106 can implement the rocking movement. Since the first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 suspend the bed member 106 over almost an entire width of the bed member 106 in a plane, a rocking direction of the bed member 106 is fixed and the stable rocking movement can be implemented. When the baby is nursed, this rocking state is implemented.
  • In the state shown in Fig. 14, the suspended lengths of the first connection member 107 and the second connection member 108 are increased so that both head side end and foot side end of the bed member 106 abut on the base wall 2. Therefore, the rocking movement of the bed member 106 is prohibited and the bed member 106 becomes horizontally fixed. When the baby is put to sleep calmly, this horizontally fixed state is implemented.
  • In the state shown in Fig. 15, the suspended length of the first connection member 107 is decreased so that the head side end of the bed member 106 is moved upward from the base wall 2. Meanwhile, the foot side end of the bed member 106 abuts on the base wall 2. This slant state is applied to the baby after feeding. Since the head of the baby is slightly lifted, the baby can burp easily.
  • According to the embodiments shown in Figs. 12 to 15, there are gaps between the bed member 106 and the pair of side frames 5. In view of safety, members which fill the gaps may be provided between the bed member 106 and the pair of side frames 5.
  • Figs. 16 to 19 show another example of means for adjusting the length of the first connection member 107. The same length adjusting means (not shown) is provided for the second connection member also. In addition, the same reference numerals are allotted to the same or equivalent components as the above embodiments in these drawings.
  • As shown in Figs. 16 and 17, a first support flame 120 is detachably mounted on an upper end of a head part frame 3. More specifically, the first support flame 120 protruding in the front and rear of the head part frame 3 has a pair of pendent walls 120a and 120b. A thick part 103a of the upper end of the head part frame 3 is sandwiched by the pendent walls 120a and 120b. A screw 126 mounted on the one pendent wall 120a engages with the thick part 103a of the head part frame 3, and the first support flame 120 is fixed to the head part frame 3 by this engagement.
  • The length adjusting means for the first connection member 107 includes an adjustment plate 123 which is provided on an upper surface of the first support flame 120 and can be changed in position. Fig 18 shows the adjustment plate 123 alone. The adjustment plate 123 extends in the width direction of the baby bed and has a sphere pinch 125 and an engagement hole 124 on either end. The engagement hole 124 includes a round hole 124a and a narrow groove 124b connected to this round hole 124a and extending outward. The end part of the first connection member 107 is connected to the adjustment plate 123.
  • An outside engagement projection 121 and an inside engagement projection 122 spaced back and forth are provided on an upper surface of the first support flame 120. In a state shown in Fig. 16, the narrow groove 124b of the engagement hole 124 of the adjustment plate 123 engages with the inside engagement projection 122. When the adjustment plate 123 is detached, the round hole 124a of the engagement hole 124 and the inside engagement projection 122 are brought to the same position, so that the adjustment plate 123 can be detached.
  • When the suspended length of the first connection member 107 is to be decreased, the adjustment plate 123 is moved forward by holding the pinch 125 by hand so that the engagement hole 124 can engage with the outside engagement projection 121.
  • Thus, although the embodiments of the present invention has been described with reference to the drawings, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. Various kinds of modifications and variations can be added to the illustrated embodiment within the same and equivalent scope of the present invention.
  • The present invention can be advantageously applied to a bed which can serve as a baby bed and an adult bed.
