Abstract

Method for checking the leak-tightness of a vehicle combustion engine exhaust system, whereby air is pumped out of the exhaust gas system or at least a part thereof and the resultant vacuum pressure is monitored. The variation of the vacuum pressure over time is an indication of the leak-tightness of the system. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for implementing the inventive method.
