Description

  • The invention relates to a device for contacting a circuit board by means of a connector.
  • Due to the ever-increasing cost pressure in the electrical industry and the concomitant constraint to simplify and reduce virtually all components, there is a need for a simple solder-free contacting a circuit board by means of a connector, in particular without a need to use a circuit board side pin or socket strip.
  • The pamphlets US 2003/096518 A1 . US 5 199 896 A and US 4,871,315 A disclose devices each with a connector and a printed circuit board, in which the connector has latching means which engage in detent holes of the circuit board, so that the connector is fixed to the circuit board. The connectors each have contacts that are designed as resilient contacts.
  • In such an arrangement, the connectors must be placed on the circuit board prior to soldering and then exposed to thermal stress during soldering. Or they are placed after soldering the circuit board to this, which requires an additional step.
  • The pamphlets US 3436715 A . US 5,395,265 A and US 5,704,807 A reveal connectors that attach to the circuit boards with separate tabs. However, these do not provide any resilient fastening of the connector, and are therefore not designed for a resilient contacting of the connector to the circuit board. US 5997329 A discloses a connector which is fastened with locking elements and a tongue and groove connection via a socket on a printed circuit board.
  • Object of the present invention is to provide an alternative device for contacting a printed circuit board by means of a connector that allows a solderless contacting of the circuit board by means of the connector, without the need for using a circuit board-side pin or socket strip.
  • The invention solves this object with respect to the device by the subject of claim 1.
  • According to the invention as claimed a device for contacting a printed circuit board is provided by means of a connector, wherein the circuit board has contact pads and the connector corresponding contacts, which are designed as resilient contacts and wherein the connector is fixed to the circuit board by a Aufrastbewegung that his resilient contacts with resilient bias contact the contact pads of the circuit board.
  • Through the use of this device, it is possible to dispense with a circuit board side counterpart such as a pin header or a solderable female connector and make a cost-effective contacting of the contact pads on the circuit board without soldering the contacts with the contact pads.
  • The individual spring contacts can be configured in any desired manner. For example, they can each have a contact part, which is supported by a spring on the housing of the connector. It is important that a vibration-proof contacting of the contact pads, in particular the Lötplätze is realized on the circuit board.
  • In this way, the number of holes in the circuit board can be reduced because the circuit board only with contact pads - such as. Solder pads - must be provided on their surface. In contrast, solder pins inserted into the printed circuit board as contacts are no longer necessary. In principle, the number of holes can be reduced to the few necessary holes for receiving mounting brackets on the circuit board in such a way.
  • It is conceivable that the locking elements are integrally connected to the connector or formed as separate parts. The separate configuration makes it possible to use for the locking elements and the remaining connectors each of the optimal materials in terms of each existing for locking function or for the other connectors requirements.
  • In particular, for smaller connectors at least one mounting bracket is fixed on the circuit board in addition to the row of contact pads on which then the connectors are locked. Preferably, a mounting bracket is provided at each end of the Kontaktpadreihe.
  • The mounting brackets have lateral locking pins for locking the connector.
  • It is also conceivable to design the mounting brackets as SMT mounting brackets.
  • This has the advantage that only components are used with relatively low mass, which can be set, for example, with turrets at high speed on the circuit board. The blocks are both sides usable at both ends of Kontaktpadreihe, so that only a variant of blocks must be made. These also take up less space than wider pin headers, so that the user can use the space for other components.
  • Another advantage of using the bucks is that only the bucks are made of high quality high temperature plastics to manufacture. The connectors, however, may consist of a cheaper plastic, since they are set only after soldering and are not heated during soldering. The wiring of the connector can be done independently of the attachment of the connector on the circuit board in an independent manufacturing step.
  • Preferably, an antirotation is realized for the blocks by the solder pins (in particular by using two or more solder pins).
  • According to another variant, the blocks additionally have a sufficiently large suction surface for vacuum pipettes above their center of gravity. When plugged in, these prevent the blocks from sliding off the soldering clip. The Lötstiftlänge the blocks is particularly dimensioned so that the back of the circuit board can also be printed with solder paste.
  • The bucks can thus be delivered automatically in tape-on-reel, tray or tube packaging.
  • It is particularly advantageous if a plurality of the mounting brackets realize a coding function and / or polarization function by different arrangement and / or geometry.

  • Fig. 1 shows a printed circuit board 1, which is provided with conductor tracks 2, which here with arranged in a row 3, spaced-apart contact pads, in particular solder pads 4a, 4b, ... are connected.

  • For contacting the solder pads 4a, ... the circuit board 1 is a corresponding connector 6 with a strip-like housing 7, the example here on its side facing away from the circuit board side leads 8 are supplied, in a manner not shown with resilient contacts 9a, 9b are conductively connected, which are arranged in at least one row 10 on the side facing the circuit board 1 side of the housing 7 and are spaced apart such that they contact the solder pads 4a, ....
  • Several rows of soldering pads 4a, ... and / or contacts 9a, 9b could also be provided.
  • Lateral next to the ends of the row 10 of the resilient contacts 9a, 9b locking lugs 11 are formed on the housing, which are designed for latching engagement in the detent holes 5 to set the connector 6 to the circuit board 1 and to secure a sufficient resilient bias of the resilient contacts 9a, 9b on the circuit board 1.
  • The example of Fig. 1 is particularly suitable for larger connectors.
  • The embodiment of Fig. 2 is different from the example of Fig. 1 in that a different type of attachment of the connector to the circuit board is selected here for rather smaller connectors.
  • Before the connector is snapped on, mounting blocks 12 are fastened on the printed circuit board laterally next to the ends of the row 3 from the soldering pads 4a, 4 (eg by means of a soldering clip 13 or otherwise). Claims (7)

  1. An apparatus, comprising a circuit board (1) and a plug-in connector (6) for contacting the circuit board (1) by means of the plug-in connector, wherein the circuit board (1) comprises contact pads (4a, 4b) and the plug-in connector (6) comprises corresponding contacts (9a, 9b) which are arranged as spring-loaded contacts (9a, 9b), wherein the contact pads (4a, 4b) and the contacts (9a, 9b) are arranged in one or several rows (3, 10), wherein the plug-in connector (6) can be fixed to the circuit board (1) by a simple snap-on movement in such a way that its spring-loaded contacts (9a, 9b) contact the contact pads (4a, 4b) of the circuit board (1) with resilient pretensioning, wherein the apparatus comprises attachment brackets on which the plug-in connector (6) can be latched and which are fixed laterally adjacent to the ends of the rows (3) of the contact pads (4a, 4b) to the circuit board (1), wherein the attachment brackets (12) comprise lateral latching pins (14) and a groove (15) of a tongue-and-groove joint (16), and the plug-in connector (6) comprises corresponding fastening means (17) which are used together with the groove (15) for forming a tongue-and-groove joint (16) between the attachment brackets (12) and the plug-in connector (6), and are also used as a counterpart for latching on the latching pin (14).
  2. An apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the corresponding fastening means (17) are lateral springs.
  3. An apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the attachment brackets (12) are arranged as SMT attachment brackets.
  4. An apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the attachment brackets (12) are fixed to the circuit board (1) by means of soldering clamps (13).
  5. An apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the attachment brackets (12) comprises at least one suction surface for automatic assembly.
  6. An apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the attachment brackets (12) realize an encoding function and/or polarizing function by different arrangement and/or geometry.
  7. An apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that one plug-in connector (6) each can be tightly latched onto both sides of each attachment bracket (12).
