Abstract

  • eine Gehäuseanordnung (21) mit einer darin gebildeten Verdampfungs/Brenn-Kammer (22), welche zu dem Abgasströmungsweg (14) hin offen ist,
  • ein Verdampfermedium (34) zum Aufnehmen von flüssigem Kohlenwasserstoff und zur Abgabe von Kohlenwasserstoffdampf zur Verdampfungs/Brenn-Kammer (22),
  • eine Heizeinrichtung (38) zur Erwärmung des Verdampfermediums (34),
  • eine Zündeinrichtung (42) zum Starten der Verbrennung des in der Verdampfungs/Brenn-Kammer vorhandenen Kohlenwasserstoffdampfes.
An exhaust gas treatment system for an internal combustion engine, in particular a diesel internal combustion engine, comprises a catalyst arrangement (16) and at least one evaporator / burner arrangement (20) in the exhaust gas flow path (14) upstream of the catalyst arrangement (16), wherein the evaporator / burner arrangement (20). includes:
  • a housing assembly (21) having an evaporation / combustion chamber (22) formed therein open to the exhaust gas flow path (14),
  • an evaporator medium (34) for receiving liquid hydrocarbon and for delivering hydrocarbon vapor to the vaporization / combustion chamber (22),
  • a heating device (38) for heating the evaporator medium (34),
  • an igniter (42) for starting combustion of the hydrocarbon vapor present in the vaporization / combustion chamber.
