Description
Mechanische Reibbremse sowie Verfahren zu deren Betreiben Mechanical friction brake and method for operating it
The invention relates to a friction brake with which a vehicle can be braked or brought to a standstill. Such a friction brake has a friction lining which is constructed from a friction material. A braking force is applied to the friction lining so that the working surface of the friction lining is pressed against the friction surface of a wheel to be braked or a brake disc or a brake drum. A brake cylinder, a lever transmission and an adjustment mechanism are generally assigned to the friction lining.
Siehe beispielsweise DE 195 42 524.The invention is particularly applicable to disc brakes for motor vehicles as well as for railways. See for example DE 195 42 524.
But it can also be used with so-called block brake units.
Bezüglich der Ausgestaltung von Klotzbremseinheiten bei Schienenfahrzeugen wird auf "Bremsen für Schienenfahrzeuge, Handbuch - Bremstechnische Begriffe und Werte, Knorr-Bremse AG München, 2. Auflage, 1990", Seite 41 verwiesen. With regard to the design of block brake units in rail vehicles, reference is made to "Brakes for Rail Vehicles, Manual - Braking Terms and Values, Knorr-Bremse AG Munich, 2nd Edition, 1990", page 41.
Often, the brake pads that have been made up to now are in one piece and represent the friction material block themselves. Materials of the brake pads or friction material blocks are pearlitic gray cast iron with lamellar graphite, plastic or sintered material consisting of a mixture of different materials in synthetic resin or Buna bond, made of fine metal powder such as There is iron, copper, non-ferrous metal.
From US 1 219 824 a brake pad has become known which comprises a multiplicity of friction material blocks which are separated by an elastic layer. The individual blocks of friction material are attached transversely to the longitudinal direction of the brake shoe. By this arrangement, that 'the brake pad is to be achieved only experiences minor changes in expansion in the event of temperature fluctuations.
Die Verschleißmaterialien sind mit dem Mittelkern durch eine Klebeschicht verbunden.DE 24 18 024 shows a carbon-containing aircraft brake disc consisting of a strong, durable center core and linings made of lightweight wear material attached to both sides. The wear materials are connected to the center core by an adhesive layer.
From JP 55-97537 a brake pad has become known which is slotted in the longitudinal direction to reduce the braking noise. The reduction in braking noise is achieved in that higher temperatures can be achieved due to the slotted design on the braking surface.
Einen Bremsklotzschuh mit mehreren sehr einfach zu wechselnden Bremsklötzen zeigt die DE 30 33 936.DE 30 33 936 shows a brake shoe with several brake pads that are very easy to change.
With regard to the embodiments of brake pads, reference is further made, for example, to "Brakes for Rail Vehicles, Manual - Braking Terms and Values, Knorr-Bremse AG Munich, 1990", pages 22 and 23.
In the previously described block brake systems according to the prior art, the contact pattern is insufficient due to thermal expansion and axial displacements. The following applies here: the harder the material of the block, the worse the contact pattern. The poor contact pattern leads to the formation of corrugations or crumbling in the wheel tread and, as a result, to a high level of noise when braking.
As can be seen from the prior art mentioned, efforts have always been made to reduce or even eliminate the braking noises. These noises are perceived as extremely unpleasant. You can even cause damage, especially to people who are often exposed to such noise, such as train staff.
The invention has for its object to provide a friction brake or a method for operating it, whereby the noise generated during braking can be reduced or canceled.
This object is solved by the features of the independent claims.
The inventor has therefore taken a different path than the prior art shows. He was not concerned with the design of the friction lining and its friction material. Rather, he recognized that the squeaking noise when braking is due to a vibration problem. Accordingly, he suggests influencing the vibrations that occur in a brake of the type mentioned or in its components, so that no squeaking noise can form. The specific solution is to vary the frictional force exerted on the friction surface of a wheel by means of the friction lining. One could also say that the vibrations are impaired or disturbed according to the invention.
Friction brakes of the type mentioned generally work with brake cylinders, as mentioned above. As is known, there is a certain pressure in the brake cylinder during braking. This pressure is varied so that the pressure is generated in the form of pressure pulses. The pressure pulses can be rhythmic. They can be periodic or aperiodic. Pressure drops can be generated so that the pressure in the brake cylinder drops to a very small value or even to zero. The waste can be extremely sharp so that it takes place within a very short period of time. As a result, the spring damping mass system is continuously changed, and with it the natural frequency of the system. A great advantage of the invention is that it can be used regardless of the type of brake pad and the other structure of the brake. This applies in particular to modern brake pads for disc brakes in rail vehicles. Such brake pads exist for example! from sintered metal.
A particularly interesting way of implementing the invention is to control the pressure in the brake cylinder by means of a valve which works in the manner of an anti-skid valve. As is well known, anti-skid valves are used to prevent the wheels from slipping or sliding when braking (so-called anti-lock braking system). Exactly those anti-skid valves can be used that are used in such an anti-lock braking system.
In the event of service braking, for example when the train enters a train station, a modified brake software controls the anti-skid valves according to the invention, for example in a rhythmic manner. The pressure in the brake cylinder is increased in such a way that the pressure averaged over the braking time and the associated braking distance remain approximately unchanged as before. Only in the case of rapid braking can braking be carried out in the previous manner for safety reasons.
Beim Bremsen will man bekanntlich einen gewissen mittleren Reibwert erzielen. As is well known, braking is intended to achieve a certain average coefficient of friction. This should also be maintained when applying the invention. In order to achieve this, a higher pressure value in the brake cylinder is initially assumed so that the average friction path is maintained - despite the lowering according to the invention in the context of a pulsation.
The invention has proven to be extremely effective in the test. The squeaking noise can be completely avoided. In practice, this means that any noise protection measures can be dispensed with and that there is no nuisance to people. When designing a brake, in particular When selecting the friction material, there is no longer any need to consider reducing the noise, since this problem is solved by the invention.
Finally, the invention can be implemented relatively easily and with little construction effort. It is therefore also very inexpensive.
