Abstract

A paper-clip, particularly for motor vehicles, is described and comprises:
  • a unitary body made of plastics material comprising a first portion (2) having a projection (4),
  • a wall (6) joining the first portion (2) to a second portion (8) having a bend (10) facing towards the inner surface of the first portion (2) and extended outwardly by means of a flange-like portion (12), the first portion (2) and the second portion (8) having guides (14, 16).

Description

  • The present invention relates to a paper-clip, particularly for motor vehicles.
  • In motor vehicles, particularly in motor cars, there is sometimes a need to put sheets of paper away in an orderly manner where they can easily be reached.
  • The object of the present invention is to provide a paper-clip for motor vehicles which enables sheets of paper to be put away in an orderly manner and to be extracted conveniently with the use of only one hand.
  • The present invention achieves the above-mentioned objects by means of a paper-clip particularly for motor vehicles having the characteristics specified in the appended claims.
  • Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become clear in the course of the following detailed description which is provided purely by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is an exploded, perspective view of the paper-clip of the present invention,
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view of the paper-clip of the present invention without sheets of paper, and
  • Figure 3 shows the paper-clip of Figure 2 holding a sheet of paper.
  • With reference to the drawings, the paper-clip of the present invention, which is formed as a single piece of plastics material, is generally indicated 1; it has a first portion 2 having a turned-over edge 4 and a wall 6 which joins the first portion 2 to a second portion 8 having a bend 10 facing towards the internal surface of the first portion 2 and extended outwardly by means of a flange-like projection 12.
  • There are guides 14 and 16 on the first portion 2 and on the second portion 8, respectively.
  • An insert 18 in the form of a small spring is inserted in the guides 14 and 16; the second portion 8 comprises, on its exterior, tracks 22 for engaging in mouldings 20, 30 which are present on an element 40 fixed firmly to the vehicle, for example, to the vehicle's dashboard.
  • The device of the present invention operates as follows.
  • To secure one or more sheets of paper in the paper-clip with only one hand (the hand holding the sheets), the flange 12 is pushed downwards creating, at that point, a space which can be used to insert the sheet F which will be pinched between the flange 12 and the first portion 2.
  • Clearly, in order to extract the sheet, the operation must be performed in reverse.
  • Naturally, the principle of the invention remaining the same, wide variations may be applied to the embodiment described and illustrated without, however departing from the scope of protection of the invention.

Claims (3)

  1. A paper-clip, particularly for motor vehicles, characterized in that it comprises:
    a unitary body made of plastics material comprising a first portion (2) having a a projection (4),
    a wall (6) joining the first portion (2) to a second portion (8) having a bend (10) facing towards the inner surface of the first portion (2) and extended outwardly by means of a flange-like portion (12), the first portion (2) and the second portion (8) having guides (14, 16).
  2. A paper-clip according to Claim 1, characterized in that it comprises an insert (18) in the form of a small spring, inserted in the guides (14, 16).
  3. A paper-clip according to Claim 1, characterized in that the second portion (8) comprises, on its exterior, tracks (22) suitable for being engaged by mouldings (20, 30) which are present on an element (40) fixed firmly to the vehicle.
