Because of this a surface with a predetermined colour is obtained, absorbing far less infrared radiation.

  • the second layer containing coloured pigment (the cold pigment layer) that contains no carbon black is applied wet-on-wet, i.e. without the first layer being dried.
  • the grains of polyamide are dispersed in the top layer.
  • both layers have been applied to the section made of synthetic material, they have to undergo a post hardening.
  • This process sometimes is described as "curing".
  • this post hardening occurs within half an hour after the spraying operation and at a temperature of 80°C maximum. This is done, because it has been found that by not waiting too long after applying the coloured layers, the best results are obtained from an aesthetic point of view.
  • the temperature for this post hardening is preferably chosen between 40°C and 80°C.
