Abstract

A perforated conveyer belt runs over an suction unit and presents a leading edge feed of a paper web to a printing machine. The web lead is fed especially over the curved perforated surface (13) by a first perforated roller (11), and is surrendered from the perforated belt to a second roller. The perforated belt runs over a slotted (21) guide surface (20) which also forms part of the suction unit maintaining contact between the paper web and belt.
