Definitions
- the present invention relates to a packaging device and application of a product, in particular a fluid product such as for example a nail polish remover.
- Nail polish removers are mostly packaged in bottles and require the use of cotton for their application.
- solvent-soaked wipes that have the advantage of being more easily transportable.
- these two types of application have the major disadvantage of hardly removing the varnish on the nail with one hand without damaging the varnish of other nails with both hands, especially the hand with which you hold the cotton or wipe.
- it often happens that the varnish of a single nail is damaged and that we only need to remove the varnish from this nail without redoing both hands.
- use of cotton wool or a wet wipe remover removes nail polish from the hand with which you hold the cotton or wipe.
- a need has arisen to produce a device of the type which comprises a container containing the product and an applicator member capable of be in communication with the product contained in the container through a passage which can be opened or closed in response to the actuation of a intermediate element disposed between the applicator member and the container.
- document US 4,279,527 describes a device comprising a bottle on which is screwed a hoop attached to an applicator brush.
- a hoop When the hoop is screwed to the maximum on the bottle, the brush is isolated from the inside of the bottle because a pin closes a communication opening between the bottle and brush.
- the user unscrews the hoop which makes it possible to move the orifice away from the pin and thus to release it so as to allow the passage of the product from the bottle to the brush.
- no closure cap is provided to cover the brush in closed position so that the brush is not protected.
- a bottle comprising an outlet orifice formed outside the longitudinal axis of the bottle, and which is surmounted by an applicator provided with an inlet orifice also formed outside the longitudinal axis of the bottle.
- a cap is designed to cover the applicator in the closed position. In position of closure, the two orifices are offset so that the product cannot reach the applicator.
- the user removes the cap and then rotates the applicator to position the two orifices opposite one another.
- To close the device the user must first rotate the applicator so as to offset the two holes and then replace the plug. Two independent movements are then necessary both to open and to close the device.
- the cap used to protect the applicator is also used to close the passage allowing communication between inside the container and the applicator. This is particularly the case for the device described in document US 3,106,742 in which the screwing of the plug closing causes the hoop attached to the applicator to be pushed in.
- the communication of the applicator with the interior of the container must be made by hand, i.e. the user must first unscrew the cap then pull on the hoop to clear the passage between the inside of the container and the applicator.
- the opening of the cap causes the setting communication of the applicator with the product contained in the container. It is the case in particular of the devices described in documents US 5,230,579 and US 3,281,887.
- the cap opens by moving in translation along the longitudinal axis of the device.
- the plug drives, by friction on an intermediate piece carrying the applicator, the movement of this part and the release of an orifice passage allowing the applicator to communicate with the product contained inside the container.
- the user can use the plug to push the intermediate piece along the longitudinal axis the applicator.
- the communication between the applicator and the product inside the container is done by moving along the longitudinal axis of the container, a part carrying the applicator.
- pressure is exerted on the applicator along this axis, so that the passage opening tends to close during application of the product which is not at all desirable.
- Patent application FR 2 681 050 describes a pouring spout device provided a plug whose screwing / unscrewing causes the opening / closing of the beak.
- a pouring spout is not suitable for the application of a product. nail polish remover to remove nail polish.
- the unscrewing the plug causes the spout to move to open it thanks to the presence of bosses on the side wall of the spout.
- Such a configuration does not allow, when the spout is closed by hand, to screw the cap on the bottle because of the presence of the bosses.
- Such a device of relatively elongated shape and comprising a member porous or fibrous application allows to easily apply the product on a nail to remove the varnish without the fingers of the hand holding the device are in contact with the product so that the nails of this hand are not not damaged.
- the applicator member makes it possible to increase the surface which applies to the area to be treated and which contains product while limiting the flow of product out of the container, in particular in the case where the product is very fluid. It is thus possible to use an applicator member having a surface relatively close to a nail to quickly remove the varnish without the product flowing too abundantly on the nail.
- the applicator member also makes it possible to remove the dissolved varnish by the solvent by rubbing the application surface on the nail.
- Using the plug to open and close the communication passage provides an easy to use device that requires only one gesture both for opening and for closing the device. Furthermore, this ensures the user that as soon as the cap is closed, the organ application is conditioned without being in communication with the product contained in the container. This avoids the application member being constantly soaked in product.
- the movable part of the opening / closing element is suitable to move independently of the cap.
- the passage can thus be closed to prevent product from flowing out of the container without the cap is not repositioned. This allows in particular to change of application body to dispose of a new one without risk of leakage from the product.
- the plug is capable of being screwed onto the member opening / closing whatever the position of the movable part of the organ opening / closing. So, in the case where we closed the passage in moving the opening / closing element to for example replace a applicator, there is no need to reopen the passage in manually moving the opening / closing element to be able to screw the plug as is the case in the device described in the request for FR patent 2,681,050.
- the movable part of the element opening / closing is movable relative to the container only in rotation around the X axis, the passage being formed outside the X axis.
- the rotational movement of the part movable of the opening / closing element relative to the container is accompanied by a translational movement along the X axis.
- the mobile part of the opening / closing element can then be movable relative to the container by thread.
- the passage can be closed by the cooperation of a wall, for example a pin, formed on a fixed part of the opening / closing member and of a orifice formed in the movable part of the opening / closing member.
- a wall for example a pin
- the applicator member is removably fixed in the device. It can therefore be replaced as you use the device if for example it is dirty.
- the device can then include a housing containing at least a second application body, preferably a reserve of several bodies application.
- the housing can be formed in the closure cap.
- the applicator member may be a block of foam, in particular of a open cell foam.
- the foam may be a polyurethane foam (PU), NBR (nitryl-butadiene-rubber), SBR (styrene-butadiene-rubber) or EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer).
- PU polyurethane foam
- NBR nonryl-butadiene-rubber
- SBR styrene-butadiene-rubber
- EPDM ethylene propylene diene monomer
- the container may include a deformable wall. So the product can be brought into the application member by a simple pressure exerted on the wall of the container. Of course, when using a very fluid product, which is often the case of solvents, it can also flow from inside the container to the applicator only by gravity. The user can press on the deformable wall if it wishes to drain the product faster. Alternatively, a rigid wall container can be used in which the product flows into the applicator member only by gravity.
- the device is advantageously configured to allow the application of product on the nails.
- the product contained in the container can be a cosmetic product, in particular a makeup-removing composition for keratin materials, in especially a nail polish remover.
- the device of the invention is particularly useful for removing makeup from nails.
- FIGS. 1 to 7 show a device 1 for conditioning and of application according to the invention.
- the device 1 comprises a container 10, an applicator 20 secured to the container via a hoop 30 and an applicator holder 40, as well as a closure cap 50.
- the container contains a fluid, for example a nail polish remover.
- the container 10 has an elongated shape according to a longitudinal axis X, and comprises a body, formed by a side wall 11 and a bottom 12.
- the container also has a neck 14 of axis X and of section transverse circular.
- the side wall 11 is elastically deformable and is connects to the neck 14 via a shoulder 13 which defines a flat surface annular.
- the neck 14 is provided with three angularly spaced pins 15 provided, as will be seen in detail later, to maintain the hoop 30 on the container.
- the container 10 is for example made of plastic, for example example in polyethylene, and is obtained by molding from a single piece.
- the hoop 30 is snapped onto the neck 14 of the container by means a fixing skirt 31, cylindrical of revolution.
- the fixing skirt 31 has three recesses 32, angularly spaced on the internal surface of the skirt, and which each come to receive a lug 15 from the neck of the container.
- the fret 30 is thus mounted on the container without being able to move relative to this one, neither in translation along the X axis, nor in rotation around the X axis.
- the fixing skirt 31 of the hoop 30 is connected in its upper part, by an annular transverse wall 34, with a sealing skirt, concentric with the fixing skirt 31.
- the sealing skirt comprises a first portion 35a extending parallel to the X axis to a lower free edge. This portion skirt 35a is provided to be inserted inside the neck 14 of the container coming to apply against the internal surface of the neck.
- the sealing skirt comprises a second portion 35b formed in the axial extension of the first portion, above the annular transverse wall 34, and which cooperates with the applicator holder 40, as will be seen in detail later.
- a tapered pin 36 is formed in the X axis.
- the pin is connected to the sealing skirt by three radial tabs 37, angularly spaced, and defining, with the internal surface of the sealing skirt, openings 38 allowing the passage of the product.
- Picot 36 extends beyond the skirt axially sealing and ends with an upper end 36a intended to be housed in an orifice 45 provided in the applicator holder 40 so as to interrupt communication between the applicator and the product contained inside the container.
- the fastening skirt 31 of the hoop has, on its external surface, two pins 33 diametrically opposed and intended to cooperate with a thread provided on the applicator holder 40, to allow the applicator holder to move by report to the hoop and put the applicator 20 in communication with the product contained inside the container.
- the cooperation of the hoop and the applicator holder constitutes an organ for opening / closing the passage allowing communication between the applicator and the product contained inside the container.
- the applicator holder 40 is mounted on the hoop by means of a fixing skirt 41 cylindrical of revolution.
- the fixing skirt 41 has a first thread 42 on its internal surface which cooperates with the pins 33 of the hoop. This cooperation allows the screwing and unscrewing of the applicator holder on the hoop between a first position called the bottom position and a second position said high position.
- the first thread 42 is interrupted, in the portion bottom of the skirt 41, so as to constitute a stop 42a for the pins 33 in order to prevent the applicator holder from detaching from the hoop at the end unscrewing, that is to say in the high position of the applicator holder on the hoop. In the low position of the applicator holder on the hoop, the screwing is also limited as will be seen in detail later.
- the fixing skirt 41 also has a second thread 43 on its surface external allowing the closure cap 50 to be fixed.
- the fixing skirt 41 of the applicator holder extends in its part upper by a frustoconical wall 44 to an orifice 45, formed in the axis X, which opens into a support 46 for the applicator 20.
- the support 46 of the applicator is formed by an annular transverse wall 46a which ends on the periphery by a side wall 46b extending parallel to the axis X up to an upper free edge.
- a skirt is provided sealing 47, cylindrical of revolution, which extends parallel to the axis X from the frustoconical wall to a lower free edge.
- This skirt sealing 47 is provided to come into sealing contact with the portion upper 35b of the sealing skirt of the hoop on which it slides axially when moving the applicator holder between its high positions and low. In the low position, the sealing skirt 47 abuts against the annular transverse wall 34 of the hoop, thus limiting the sinking of the applicator holder when screwed to prevent the fixing skirt 41 from sinks into the shoulder 13 of the container.
- the applicator 20, mounted in the support 46 has the shape of a flattened cylinder of cross section slightly greater than the cross section of the support 46 so that the side wall 46b holds it laterally while allowing it to be removed axially when it is desired to change it.
- the applicator When the applicator is mounted in the support, it projects axially above the side wall 46b of the support.
- It consists of a block of cell foam open, especially a relatively flexible polyurethane foam.
- the applicator is removably mounted in its support so that it can be easily removed without being damaged from its support and replaced by a new applicator or by the same applicator having by example been cleaned.
- the applicator 20 is housed in a closed housing 51 delimited in part by the closing plug 50 provided for style the applicator.
- the plug 50 is constituted by a peripheral skirt 52, cylindrical of revolution, closed in its upper part by a wall transverse 53.
- the internal surface of the skirt 52 has a thread 54 provided to cooperate with the thread 43 of the fixing skirt 41 of the applicator holder.
- the lower free edge of the skirt 52 abuts against the shoulder 13 of the container so as to prevent the applicator 20 from being compressed in closed position by the transverse wall 53 of the plug in the event of too much screwing.
- the force exerted laterally by the plug 50 on the applicator holder 40 is more important than that exerted by the applicator holder 40 on the hoop 30.
- a greater tightening of the plug is provided on the applicator holder than on the applicator holder on the hoop.
- appropriate materials are chosen to constitute the different parts, playing in particular on their coefficient of friction or still on their surface condition.
- the lateral force exerted by the cap on the applicator holder must still allow it to be screwed easily.
- the cap 50 is screwed on the applicator holder by means of the cooperation of complementary threads 54 and 43 respectively provided on the cap and on the applicator holder.
- the applicator holder 40 is in the low position relative to the hoop 30, that is to say that the pins 33 are in the upper part of the thread 42.
- the end upper 36a of the pin 36 is housed in the orifice 45 provided in the applicator holder so as to prevent any communication of the product contained in the container with the applicator.
- the user moves the plug 50 in rotation by report to the container, which causes, first, the unscrewing of the applicator holder and an axial displacement of the applicator holder relative to the hoop as shown in Figure 4.
- the applicator holder 40 is then in the high position relative to the hoop 30, that is to say that the pins 33 are in the lower part of the thread 42 and abut against the end 42a of the thread.
- the orifice 45 is then released so as to allow the communication of the product contained in the container with the applicator.
- the user can then apply the applicator on a nail by positioning the device upside down, namely by placing the applicator under the container so that the product flows by gravity in the applicator, via the openings 38 and the orifice 45. If the user wants the product to flow more quickly into the applicator, it can exert a slight pressure on the side wall 11 of the container so as to push the product towards the applicator 20. She can also use the device head up and push the product towards the applicator by pressing the side wall 11 of the container. Once the applicator is soaked, the user can make circular movements on the nail to remove the nailpolish.
- the user positions the plug 50 on the applicator holder 40 and performs a rotation movement of the cap by relative to the container 10 during which the applicator holder 40 is screwed back on the hoop 30, to its low position and the cap is screwed back on the applicator holder until it comes into abutment against shoulder 13 of the container.
- Figures 8 and 9 show a variant of the device which has just been described in accordance with Figures 1 to 7 and which is used in the same way.
- the container 10 and the hoop 30 are identical to the container and to the fret of the first embodiment.
- the applicator holder 40 differs from the applicator holder of the first embodiment in the form of the support 46 of the applicator.
- the support 46 is this time formed by a frustoconical wall 48 which flares from the orifice 45 outwards.
- the tapered wall 48 is provided with three reliefs 49 making it possible to hold the applicator laterally 20 while allowing it to be removed axially when it is desired to change it.
- the applicator 20 this time has a frustoconical shape.
- the plug 50 defines a second housing 55 delimited by an axial extension 56 of the peripheral skirt 52, above the transverse wall 53, closed reversibly in its part upper by a transverse wall 57 articulated by a film hinge 58.
- a fastening system 59 diametrically opposite to the film hinge 58, is provided to allow the attachment of the transverse wall 57 on the extension 56 of the skirt in order to keep the second housing 55 closed.
- the second housing 55 makes it possible to house several applicators 20 which are intended to successively replace the applicator already used.
- the embodiment shown in Figures 10 and 11 differs mainly of the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 7 in that the applicator holder 40 is movable relative to the hoop only rotating around the X axis.
- the thread of the internal surface of the fixing skirt 41 of the applicator holder is replaced by two diametrically opposite grooves 143, in which the lugs 33 move.
- the two lugs 33 are this time formed at different axial heights.
- the grooves 143 are also formed at different axial heights and each extend in a transverse plane to the X axis, over an angular portion of approximately 180 ° so as to allow the applicator holder to move 180 ° relative to the hoop 30.
- the orifice 45 formed in the support 46 is this time formed outside the X axis.
- the hoop pin is replaced by a transverse wall 136, formed from the axial extension of the sealing skirt, and which is in contact watertight with the transverse wall 46a of the support 46.
- the transverse wall 136 has an orifice 136a also formed outside the X axis.
- the orifice 136a is located in the wall 136 so that the orifice 45 of the applicator holder is able to come opposite the orifice 136a when the lugs 33 abut at one end of their respective grooves.
- the plug 50 in the closed position shown in the figure 10, the plug 50 is screwed onto the applicator holder and the wall 136 closes the orifice 45 so as to prevent any communication of the product contained in the container with the applicator.
- the pins 33 are each located at a first end of their respective grooves.
- the user moves the plug 50 in rotation by relation to the container, which initially causes displacement lugs 33 in their respective grooves 143 from the first end of the throat to the second end, because again, the force exerted laterally by the plug 50 on the applicator holder 40 is more important than that exerted by the applicator holder 40 on the hoop 30.
- the applicator holder is thus moves 180 ° relative to the hoop so that the orifice 45 of the applicator holder comes opposite the orifice 136a of the wall 136 so as to allow the communication of the product contained in the container with the applicator.
