Description
The invention relates to a method for controlling a hearing device via a Control unit, which is in communication with the hearing aid, the audible signals via a microphone, amplified and outputs via a speaker, where in the hearing aid, a digital signal processing according to a predetermined Algorithm is performed, and wherein in the hearing aid data about the acoustic Environment generated and via a communication interface a control unit are forwarded, as well as a communication system with a hearing aid and a control unit.
Hearing aids are in the past due to the introduction of digital signal processing Years have been significantly improved. However, it still remains Difficult to adapt the hearing aid to different environmental situations. Another problem is for the wearer of a hearing aid a to allow optimal use of telephone equipment or the like. One Another existing problem is that the wearers of hearing aids still are stigmatized and thus many people with less hearing loss hearing aids not or only temporarily wear.
From US 5,721,783 a communication system is known in which in the ear a person is using a device that has a microphone, a communication interface and a speaker. Via this communication interface This device communicates with an external device in which a signal processing is performed. This means that from the microphone recorded signal is sent to the external unit, where it is processed and is transmitted back to the device worn in the ear, over the Speaker to be output acoustically. In the external unit can also be a mobile phone included. The disadvantage of such a device is that A function as a hearing aid is given only if a correct connection between the device in the ear and the external device is present. To make sure This permanent connection requires considerable effort.
WO 00/60834 A shows a system in which a hearing aid via an adapter connected to a mobile phone. This makes it the wearer of the hearing aid in an improved way possible to use a mobile phone, if this one corresponding connection has. The function of the hearing aid remains otherwise unchanged.
Furthermore, from WO 98/16086 A a hearing aid is known that via an acoustic coupler can be waited on remotely. An automatic adaptation to different Situations are not possible with such a device.
In addition, various remote controls or programming devices for Hearing aids known, such as from EP 0 814 634 A. Again, an automatic Adjustment of a signal processing not possible.
The object of the present invention is to provide such a method and a communication system consisting of one or two hearing aids and one Develop control unit so that an optimal adaptation of the signal processing to the different situations and the specific hearing loss is possible.

- einen Lautsprecher;
- eine Kommunikationsschnittstelle zur bidirektionalen Übertragung von Daten;
- einer Eingabeeinrichtung;
- einem Mobiltelefon;
- einer Kommunikationsschnittstelle zur bidirektionalen Übertragung von Daten;
- a microphone;
- an amplifier configured to perform digital signal processing according to a predetermined algorithm;
- a speaker;
- a communication interface for bi-directional transmission of data;
- an input device;
- a mobile phone;
- a communication interface for bidirectional transmission of data;
- a module for analyzing data about the acoustic environment and for calculating an optimal algorithm for signal processing.
The advantage of the solution according to the invention is that the hearing aid as this works autonomously per se and also without contact with the control unit can represent a basic service. In normal operation, this contact becomes However, be upright control unit, so that the advantages of the invention Wear come. These consist in that the hearing aid data over the respective acoustic situation transmitted to the control unit and in the control unit the relatively complex optimization of the signal processing is performed. Such optimization generally can not always be done directly in the hearing aid (For example, binaural signal processing when a stereo signal is judged or similar. The control unit subsequently returns data to the hearing aid, to the appropriate algorithm for signal processing select or adjust corresponding parameters. The data, which are transmitted from the hearing aid to the control unit, can be extracted Data, such as average levels at different frequencies. However, it may also be the audio signal itself. It is essential that strengthening a signal processing in the hearing aid itself is carried out.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided in that the control unit is designed to communicate with the mobile phone via the mobile telephone central computer system to communicate to the programs of the module to renew data analysis or audiometry. On This way, the program in the control unit can always be up to date Be brought to a standstill and calculations can be performed for capacity reasons in the control unit can not be performed.
The communication between hearing aid and control unit is particularly favored performed according to the bluetooth standard, as the required Components are available inexpensively.
The use of the communication system according to the invention is in particular thereby facilitating that preferably the hearing aid in a headset of a Mobile phones is integrated.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the control unit itself, or from the central computer via the communication line supported (for example, via the Internet), is designed to to perform an automatic audiometry. In such an investigation the person to be examined is played various signals that the Person to register and rate.
Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for controlling a hearing device via a control unit which is in communication with the hearing aid, the acoustic signals via a microphone, amplified and via a loudspeaker outputs, wherein in the hearing aid according to a digital signal processing a predetermined algorithm is performed, and wherein in the hearing aid Data about the acoustic environment can be generated and via a communication interface be forwarded to a control unit. According to the invention it is envisaged that the data in the control unit will be analyzed and an optimal algorithm is calculated, via the communication interface is transmitted to the hearing aid. The communication between the hearing aid and the control unit can basically take place via a cable, preferably however, it is communicated wirelessly.
A further enlargement of the possibilities can be achieved by the control unit communicates with a central computer system to the Renew calculation programs or load the audiometry programs.
Preferably, the control unit itself, or supported by the central computer, an adaptation of the hearing aid to a specific hearing loss of a user carried out. In this context, it is particularly preferred If the control unit via the hearing aid audiometric examination of the User, a so-called audiometry. This investigation can be performed in two steps. In a first step, they become the Examiners are offered acoustic test patterns that evaluate these Has. This procedure is simplified when the feedback from the person to be examined User by voice input. Alternatively, these can Feedback can also be done via a keyboard or a touchscreen. Algorithms known to perform audiometry, such as NAL, NAL-R, NAL-NL1, ½, Berger or the like, but also newly developed, hearing aid specific algorithms. There may be different algorithms for the hearing aid function and for telephone communication. This study will continue until enough data is collected are to make a first adjustment. A significant advantage of this Procedure is that the audiometry in the natural environment the user can be performed and the own hearing aid for generating the noise pattern is used. In this way, possible Sources of error are eliminated and high quality standards are achieved.
In a second step, a fine adjustment can be performed, wherein the specific environmental situation, such as your own voice, music, street noise, Party o. The like. Is considered. This step can be repeated be carried out to ensure a current adjustment.
A special simplification of the operation can be achieved by that instructions for the user to be examined through speech output be output via the hearing aid. Alternatively, it is possible that instructions for the user to be examined via a display on the Control unit are issued. These features make it easy possible to carry out an audiometry without the help of a specialist which considerably reduces the effort. It can be so different audiological Tests such as Threshold Audiometry, MCL and UCL, Balance Test, and more. Like. Used become.
