Description
The invention relates to an antenna processing method for potentially non-centered or centered cyclostationary sources.
It applies for example for CPFSK sources with full modulation index.
The invention relates, for example, to a method for separating potentially noncentric and cyclostationary signals received by a receiver of a communication system comprising a plurality of sources or transmitters. The term cyclostationary also refers to the particular case of stationary signals.
It is also applicable to perform direction finding of potentially non-centered cyclostationary sources.
The invention finds its application particularly in the field of radiocommunications, space telecommunications or passive listening of these links, in ranges ranging from VLF (Very Low Frequency) to EHF (Extremely High Frequency).
In the present description, the term "blind separation" denotes a separation of the emitters without any knowledge of the signals emitted, under the expression "centered signal", a signal without a DC component that satisfies E [x (t)] = 0, under the expression "non-stationary signal", a signal whose statistics depend on time.
In many application contexts, the reception of the signals of interest for the receiver is very often disturbed by the presence of other so-called noise signals (or sources), which may correspond to either delayed versions of the signals of interest (multi-propagation -trajets), either to interfering sources that are both voluntary and involuntary (co-channel transmissions). This is particularly the case for radio communications in urban areas, subject to the phenomenon of multiple paths resulting from signal reflections on the surrounding fixed or mobile obstacles and potentially disturbed by co-channel emissions from neighboring cells. reusing the same frequencies (F / TDMA - Frequency abbreviation or Time Division Multiple Access). This is also the case for HF (High Frequency) ionospheric links disturbed by the presence, on reception, of propagation multipaths resulting from reflections on the different ionospheric layers as well as of parasitic emitters due to high congestion. spectral range of HF.
For all these applications, whether for radiocommunication or listening purposes and for technical analysis of the sources received, a separation of these is necessary before the implementation of other treatments specific to the application considered. . In addition, for some applications such as passive listening, the received sources are totally unknown to the receiver (no available training sequences, unknown waveform, etc.) and their angular location or direction finding can be tricky. (coupling between sensors) or expensive (calibration of aerials) to implement. For this reason, it can be very advantageous to implement a source separation technique completely self-taught, that is to say by not using any information a priori sources, outside the hypothesis of statistical independence of these.
The first works on the self-taught separation of sources appeared in the mid-1980s by the work of Jutten and Herault [1]. Since that date, this work has continued to develop for both convoluted (multi-path spread propagation over time) and instantaneous (non-distorted channels) sources. A summary of this work is presented in article [2] by P.Comon and P.Chevalier. A certain number of techniques developed are qualified as second order techniques because they only use the information contained in the statistics of
However, almost all self-taught source separation techniques available to date have been designed to separate supposed sources stationary, centered and ergodic, from statistical estimators of observations described as empirical, unbiased and consistent asymptotically under the previous assumptions.
However, most of the sources encountered in practice are non-stationary and more particularly cyclostationary (sources modulated numerically) and, for some, deterministic (pure carriers). In addition, some of these sources are not centered, which is particularly the case for deterministic sources and for some digitally modulated and nonlinearly modulated sources such as CPFSK sources with full modulation index. Under these conditions, the empirical statistical estimators conventionally used to implement current self-learning source separation techniques no longer have any reason to remain unbiased and consistent but are likely to become asymptotically biased, which may prevent the separation of sources, as shown in the paper by A.Ferreol and P.Chevalier [5] for centered cyclostationary sources (linear numerical modulations). This paper provides an unbiased estimator of cumulants with centered sources, but does not mention non-centered sources.
The invention relates to a method for the treatment of antennas on potentially non-centered cyclostationary signals, characterized in that includes at least one step where one or more estimators of cumulant statistics of the order n, where n is greater than or equal to 4 is obtained from the statistics of order r, with r = 1 to n-1, and for a or several values of r, a step of correcting the empirical estimators, from the cyclic frequencies detected at the order r, exploiting the potentially non-centered nature of the observations.
For example, it comprises a step of separating the sources emitting the signals received by using the aforementioned estimator (s).
It is also used for the direction finding of the received signals.

In summary, the process according to the invention allows the treatment, in particular of potentially noncentric or centered cyclostationary sources. It applies, for example, for the separation of sources or their direction finding. It involves at at least one step which uses an estimator of the statistics of the order n constructed in particular by taking into account statistics of the order r, with r varying from 1 to n-1, and for one or more values of r, a correction step the estimator from cyclic frequencies detected at the order r exploiting the potentially non-centered nature of the observations.

Avant d'expliciter plusieurs variantes de mise en oeuvre du procédé selon l'invention, la description décrit la manière d'obtenir les estimateurs, par exemple à l'ordre 2, ou à l'ordre 4, ainsi que la détection des fréquences cycliquesBefore explaining several variants of implementation of the method according to the invention, the description describes how to obtain the estimators, for example at the
The method according to the invention comprises for example a new step for determining an estimator of
According to another variant embodiment, the method comprises a step of determining a new estimator of order 4.
As indicated above and as the preceding estimators show, the method according to the invention also comprises a step where the estimator at the
- The frequency α is a cyclic γ n frequency of E [x (t)]: V (α)> = μ (pfα)
- The frequency α is not a cyclic frequency: V (α) <μ (pfα)
Les séparateurs associés sont appelés respectivement F'1, F'2, F'3 et F'4.The remainder of the description gives several variants of implementation of the method for the separation of statistically independent, stationary or cyclostationary sources. Associated separators are called respectively F'1, F'2, F'3 and F'4.
The separators of the family F1 'are self-taught separators with the

On compare donc l'estimateur classique empirique à l'estimateur exhaustif. On trace donc le SNIR en dB de la 1ière source en fonction du nombre d'échantillons K.In the following simulation we name the estimator proposed by exhaustive. In this example we keep the same signal configuration as before, but both sources have 10dB signal to noise ratio. We compare the empirical classical estimator with the exhaustive estimator. We therefore track the NRS in dB of the 1 st source based on the number of samples K.
