Abstract

A laminar paper-making machine has a discharge unit (10) with a number of jet chambers (12, 14, 16), one for each layer. Each layer passes through an outlet slot (18, 20, 22). The jet chambers are esp. are all or partly of different length (S). The maximum length of each jet chamber is approx. 800 mm. The minimum jet chamber length is pref. 300 mm. The discharge unit (10) is designed for e.g. three layers of paper, the outer chambers (12, 14) are of the same length but are longer than the inner chamber (16). The middle jet (16) incorporates an extended centre-section (36) which is positioned between two vortex generators (34', 34).
