Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Stabkerntransformator zur Verwendung als Zündtransformator in dem Sockel einer Hochdruckentladungslampe für einen Kraftfahrzeugscheinwerfer. Erfindungsgemäß besitzt der Stabkerntransformator mindestens zwei stabförmige, nebeneinander angeordnete Kerne (2, 3), auf die jeweils eine mehrlagig ausgebildete Sekundärwicklung (4, 5) gewickelt ist, wobei die Lagen (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) bzw. (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) parallel geschaltet und ohne Versatz übereinander angeordnet sind. Außerdem sind die Sekundärwicklungen (4, 5) elektrisch leitend miteinander verbunden, wobei ihr Gesamtwiderstand höchstens 2Ω beträgt. Der erfindungsgemäße Transformator eignet sich besonders gut als Zündtransformator für Hochdruckentladungslampen mit geringer Brennspannung, wie zum Beispiel quecksilberfreie Halogen-Metalldampf-Hochdruckentladungslampen.

The invention relates to a rod core transformer for use as an ignition transformer in the base of a high-pressure discharge lamp for a motor vehicle headlight. According to the invention, the rod core transformer has at least two rod-shaped cores (2, 3) arranged side by side, on each of which a secondary winding (4, 5) having several layers is wound, the layers (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) and (5a, 5b , 5c, 5d) are connected in parallel and arranged one above the other without offset. In addition, the secondary windings (4, 5) are electrically conductively connected to each other, their total resistance is at most 2Ω. The transformer according to the invention is particularly suitable as ignition transformer for high-pressure discharge lamps with low burning voltage, such as mercury-free metal halide high-pressure discharge lamps.
