To this end, the temperature sensor (22) is disposed in a wall recess (18) of the outlet neck (14) and/or of the exterior part (11) of the heat exchanger, said recess projecting into the outlet neck (14) or into the annular compartment (13).
Description
Wärmetauscher für ein Fahrzeugzusatzheizgerät Heat exchanger for a vehicle auxiliary heater
The present invention relates to a heat exchanger for a vehicle auxiliary heater according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
In the case of a heat exchanger of the type mentioned at the outset, as is known, for example, from DE 38 39 244 A1 (FIG. 3), it has hitherto been customary to screw the temperature sensor into a thread of the heat exchanger in such a way that it touches the sensor tip with it Heat transfer medium protrudes. This temperature sensor is sealed against the heat exchanger by means of an O-ring and it forms a fully assembled component with its own housing and an electrical measuring sensor incorporated therein. It is disadvantageous that both the screw thread and the sealing seat for the O-ring of the temperature sensor have to be machined into the heat exchanger. Another disadvantage is that the temperature sensor must be assembled and installed with its own housing so that it can be mounted on the heat transfer medium.
It is an object of the present invention to design a heat exchanger of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the heat transfer medium temperature sensor can be installed in a simple manner without separate sealing measures.
This object is achieved by the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
In contrast to the prior art, the invention takes the path of not arranging the temperature sensor directly immersed in the heat transfer medium, but instead of arranging the temperature sensor in a recess in the outer wall of the heat exchanger or the outlet connector, which protrudes into the heat transfer medium and is washed by it. This measure has the The advantage that the screw thread and the sealing seat, which have to be machined into the heat exchanger in the prior art, can be dispensed with because the temperature sensor does not penetrate the outer jacket of the heat exchanger, but is accommodated in a wall recess which is integral with the wall trained receiving member for the temperature sensor forms. The arrangement according to the invention of the temperature sensor in a wall recess projecting into the heat transfer medium also has the advantage that sealing measures, as in the prior art, can be omitted.
Vergussmasse.Such a wall recess is produced in one piece with the casting of the heat exchanger, so that the temperature sensor only has to be inserted into the wall recess and fixed there. This fixation takes place, for example, directly at the manufacturer of the temperature sensor, using a sealing or potting compound.
When casting, measures can be taken to make the wall recess so thin-walled that the best possible heat transfer from the heat transfer medium takes place via the thin wall of the recess to the temperature sensor.
The temperature sensor advantageously sits with its sensor end at the bottom or end of a blind hole through which the wall recess is formed.
The wall recess is arranged in the transition area of the outlet connector to the outer wall of the heat exchanger, in which case the wall of the outlet connector or the heat exchanger outer jacket forms part of the wall recess.
Apart from the insertion end for the temperature sensor, the wall recess is preferably surrounded on all sides by the heat transfer medium, so that the Heat from this medium is quickly transferred to the temperature sensor, which is inserted into the wall recess.
Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung beispielhaft anhand der Zeichnung näher erläu- teil; es zeigtThe invention is explained in more detail below by way of example with reference to the drawing; it shows
Fig. 1 : im Teil-Längsschnitt eine Hälfte eines Wärmetauschers 10 mit einem im Bereich einer Wand des Auslaßstutzens angeordneten Temperatursensor und Fig. 2: eine Variante zur Fig. 1 mit einem im Bereich einer Wand des Wärmetauscher-Außenteils angeordneten Temperatursensor.1: a partial longitudinal section of a half of a heat exchanger 10 with a temperature sensor arranged in the region of a wall of the outlet connection, and FIG. 2: a variant of FIG. 1 with a temperature sensor arranged in the region of a wall of the outer part of the heat exchanger.
The heat exchanger 10 consists of a cup-shaped heat exchanger outer part 11 and a cup-shaped heat exchanger inner part 12 which is inserted into the heat exchanger outer part 11 in such a way that an annular space 13 remains between the two parts 11, 12. This annular space 13 serves to hold a liquid heat transfer medium, which is fed into the annular space 13 via an inlet connection (not shown) and is discharged from the latter via an outlet connection 14.
In the area of its edge, which is flange-like, the two cup-shaped parts 11, 12 are fixed to one another by a clamping ring 15 with a V-shaped cross section. The clamping ring 15 also encloses the flange end of a burner / blower unit, which is generally designated in the figure by the reference number 16 and comprises a burner with a combustion chamber 17 which is inserted coaxially into the heat exchanger 10 and is fixed relative to the latter.
The outlet connector 14 is formed in one piece as a cast part together with the heat exchanger outer part 11 of the heat exchanger 10. A wall recess 18 is preferably formed in the transition region of the outlet connector 14 to the heat exchanger outer part 11 of the heat exchanger 10, which is preferably in the form of Blind hole is formed in an inwardly projecting wall part of the outlet connector 14 or that part of the heat exchanger outer part 11 of the heat exchanger 10 which is in the region of the outlet connector 14. According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the wall recess 18 is fixed by a wall section 19 of the heat exchanger outer part 11, which projects approximately up to half into the free cross section of the outlet connector 14. On the other hand, the wall recess 18 is delimited by a wall section 20, which forms part of the outlet connection 14, runs parallel to the wall section 19 of the heat exchanger outer part 11 and is united therewith by a bottom 21 running transversely to the two sections 19, 20. This bottom 21 defines the blind hole end of the blind hole which is formed in the interior of the wall recess 18.
The blind hole provided in the wall recess 18 serves to receive a temperature sensor, which is generally designated by the reference number 22 and a z. B. includes spherical sensor member 23 which is adjacent to the blind hole end or the bottom 21 of the wall recess 18 when the temperature sensor is installed. This position of the sensor element 23 and the position of the wall recess 18 immersed in the heat transfer medium ensures that the temperature sensor 22 is in contact with the heat transfer medium indirectly via the wall sections 19, 20 and the bottom 21 of the wall recess 18 and thus quickly detect its temperature capable, especially when the wall sections 19 and 20 concerned and the bottom 21 are formed relatively thin-walled.
For fixation, the temperature sensor 22 is fixed in the blind bore of the wall recess 18 by means of a casting compound 26, which also represents protection against contamination for the sensor and also ensures a sealed enclosure of the temperature sensor 22 and the connection area 24, 25 against splash water. In the variant according to FIG. 2, a wall recess 26 for a temperature sensor 22 is arranged in a wall section 29 of the heat exchanger outer part 11 of the heat exchanger 10, which is essentially cylindrical, but alternatively is also cuboid or cube-shaped. In contrast to FIG. 1, the recess 28 is spaced from the mouth of the outlet connector 14.
