Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a pair of tweezers with a serving as a packaging protective cover. The composition of tweezers and protective cover is also short below referred to as a "kit".
As "tweezers" are here referred to such gripping instruments, the two together have resiliently connected legs, the ends of the tweezers in the resting state spaced apart and upon application of a manual closing pressure with each other come in contact.
Such tweezers are typically used as cosmetic tweezers and have been around long known. The state of the art is e.g. in EP-A-0 849 048, where a newer, but not critical to the invention form of tweezers is described. It is to note that the pliers tweezers also described in the cited document no tweezers in the sense of the present invention are because their legs are not resilient but connected in the manner of scissors or pliers via a linkage are.
A tweezers with a holder is known from DE 36 24 250 A.
The packaging of conventional tweezers usually requires a relatively high Effort because usually two-piece packaging containers and / or shape adjustments the wrapping to the goods packed therein are required, especially if a Fixing the position of tweezers in the packaging is required. In addition, must the free ends of the tweezer tip are often provided with a protective cap, such as then, if the tweezers themselves against damaging their gripping ends or against it should be protected, in turn, cause damage or injury give, for example, if it is stored in a lady's handbag and carried along. The commercial ones Tweezers are usually not suitable as protective covers, and vice versa.
The object of the invention is a tweezers with a suitable as a protective cover Specify packaging that avoids these disadvantages. The terms "protective cover" and "Packaging" are therefore synonymous in the present context.
It has been found that this object is achieved according to the invention can that the protective cover essentially from one of the tweezers at least partially enveloping tubular structures made of soft elastic polymer material that with a longitudinally extending slot is provided from one in the Protective sleeve inserted tweezers is spread, taking the dimensions of the tweezers and the tubular structure are chosen so that the tweezers in the protective cover laterally is held and only by manually further spreading the slot out of it can be removed.
The invention is particularly suitable for modern tweezers, as they e.g. in EP 99810749 are described.
In general, the closing pressure of the tweezers should be at least about 100 Grams, preferably at least about 150 g and typically about 200 g. in this connection "Closing pressure" means the force required to close the tweezers - evidently the first contact of the two leg tips separated from each other when at rest - just enough. This force or the manually applied pressure The easiest way to determine this is by using the tweezers on a scale squeezed until closing the thighs and the first touch the Thigh tips causing pressure is determined.
The inventive protective sleeve of the tweezers consists essentially of the said tubular structure. This is to say that additional elements, e.g. a print, a hanging tab or closure elements for the ends the tubular structure or an additional enclosure can be used, but this usually, for example, not for storage, distribution or use is required. The qualification "about" before a number here generally means one permissible deviation of ± 30%.
As a "tubular" here is considered a hollow structure whose length is greater as its thickness and which has a jacket whose thickness is typically about 5 to about 15% of the diameter. The cross section of the tubular structure is preferably round and practically the same length. A plastic hose, manually can be squeezed and after discharge almost to its original Form returns is a preferred example of a suitable for the invention tubular structure.
The tubular structure consists of a soft elastic polymer material, which is preferably transparent or so translucent that the shape and color of the tweezers through the protective cover is visible. As "soft elastic" are doing general such polymer materials understood in the form of a tubular extrudate manually with a wall thickness in the typical range of 0.5 - 5 mm at room temperature can be bent and returned to their original shape after bending accept.
Typical preferred polymer materials are homo- and copolymers of monomers, such as alkanes, e.g. Ethylene, propylene, vinyl compounds such as vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, and the like, optionally in compatible mixtures with each other, as well as Polyamides, polyesters, modified polymers based on styrene, butadiene, acrylonitrile, Cellulosederivate and the like, as those skilled in the packaging are known and optionally contain the usual plasticizers, which in turn monomeric or polymeric substances. All other customary additives to such polymer compositions, like stabilizers, can be used unless they cause that the mass for translucent light is cloudy or even opaque.
The tubular structure is provided with a longitudinal slot, i. a longish one Section through the jacket wall of the tubular structure or hose. Of the Slit or cut preferably runs approximately axially parallel and preferably extends over the entire length of the structure, which in turn is typically at least about the length of the tweezers.
The tweezers and the protective cover for this forming tubular structure with Longitudinal slot are dimensioned so that the slot spread when inserting a pair of tweezers is, preferably in such a way that the spread approximately in the middle of the Longitudinal dimension of the protective cover has its greatest width, which is generally not more than about 20%, and preferably not more than 10% of the length of the protective cover is and extending from one end of the protective cover to its other end, i. the over the entire length of the protective sleeve extending slot at the two ends of the protective cover is almost closed.
Preferably, the shape of the cross section of the interior of the protective cover is the Shape and size of the tweezers adapted so that the tweezers spring against the protective cover rests and spreads the slot so far that the tweezers practically completely is secured against unintentional displacement in the longitudinal direction. Because the protective cover preferably slightly longer than the tweezers, their ends are at approximately centered Arrangement of the tweezers in the protective cover wrapped and require no protective cap.
Thanks to the soft elastic nature of the novel slotted longitudinally Protective cover, the tweezers can be easily removed by the user when the Slit by bending the one to the slot in the area of already existing Spreading adjacent wall parts continues to open. Also thanks to the soft elastic Nature of the protective cover closes the slot after removal of the tweezers. To reinsert the forceps into the protective sheath, e.g. after use, will the tweezers inserted into an open end of the protective cover so far at least that the Gripping ends of the tweezers are protected by the protective cover.

It is understood that within the scope of the invention, various modification possibilities for those skilled in the art possible are. - A pair of tweezers (12) with a protective sheathing (11) serving as a packaging, wherein said pair of tweezers has two legs (121, 123) resiliently connected with each other and having ends (122, 124) which are spaced apart when said pair of tweezers is not in use and which come into contact with each other under the impact of a closing pressure, characterized in that said protective sheathing (11) consists essentially of a tubular body made of a flexible polymer material at least partially enclosing said pair of tweezers (12) and having a slit (111, 112) extending in a longitudinal direction and being spread by a pair of tweezers (12) pushed into said protective sheathing (11), and wherein said pair of tweezers and said tubular body are dimensioned such that said pair of tweezers is held laterally in said protective sheathing and can be removed from said protective sheathing only by manually spreading further said slit.
- The pair of tweezers with said protective sheathing according to claim 1, characterized in that said closing pressure of said pair of tweezers is at least about 100 grams, said slit extending substantially across the total length of said tubular body and being spread by said pair of tweezers by not more than about 20% of its length and preferably not more than about 10% of its length.
- The pair of tweezers with said protective sheathing according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that said polymer material is transparent or translucent such that shape and color of said pair of tweezers are visible through said protective sheathing.
- The pair of tweezers with said protective sheathing according to any of claims 1-3, characterized in that said tubular body has a round inside cross section which is substantially constant over its length and a dimensional elasticity such that said slit remains essentially closed when no pair of tweezers is pushed into said body while said slit is spread only in a portion thereof when said pair of tweezers is pushed into said body.
- The pair of tweezers with said protective sheathing according to any of claims 1 - 4 characterized in that said tubular body has a length at least approximately equal to the length of said pair of tweezers and, preferably, is somewhat longer so as to surround both of said ends of said pair of tweezers.
- The pair of tweezers with said protective sheathing according to any of claims 1 - 5 characterized in that a marking or label is separably connected to the top end (126) of said pair of tweezers.
