Description

The invention relates to a device and a method for supplying coating products for the projectors of a coating product projection installation.

It is known to supply the projectors of a coating product spraying installation by means of product circulation conduits, sometimes called "circulatings", from tanks of large quantity of products whose capacity can reach several thousands of products. liters. These tanks are generally located away from the projection facilities in a room commonly referred to as "burrow". Given the usual distance between the brewery and the projection plant, the work in progress of products in the circulatings are of the order of several hundred liters, which makes it economically impossible to change products in such circulatings , the quantities of products lost on this occasion being unacceptable. It is therefore necessary to provide a circulating per shade used.

However, the number of shades used in a coating product projection installation tends to increase, which leads to an increase in the number of lines circulating and increases the installation of the same, while congestion problems arise. , especially at the level of the crossings of partitions.

The use of tanks on the arm of a multi-axis robot does not necessarily solve this problem. Indeed, in the known system of EP-A-0 274 322 Circulation of coating products are provided up to the area of activity of the robot. In other systems, as known for example from EP-A-0 796 665 a carousel is provided for the filling of coating product cartridges but coating material feed circulatings are provided up to the vicinity of this carousel for filling the cartridges.

In all cases, the permanent mixing of the coating products in the circulatings leads to a degradation of their physicochemical properties because of the mechanical stresses to which they are subjected, in particular the shearing undergone at the level of the changes of direction, the pumps or the pressure regulators.

Another known solution of DE-A-197 04 573 is to use pre-filled cartridges, for example disposable, but this leads to complex handling of a large number of cartridges, which is not economically satisfactory and greatly complicates the management system of such an installation.

FR-A-2,777,482 teaches to move, on a limited stroke, a product tank rarely used to a coating product change unit for feeding a single tank carried by a robot. The installation thus implemented requires the use of a carousel near each robot and feeding each carousel tanks is a tedious and time consuming operation.

It is these problems that the invention intends to remedy more particularly by proposing a new projector supply device which does not require the construction of a circulating device until close to an installation and avoids the manipulation of a too many cartridges.

With this in mind, the invention relates to a device for supplying products for coating the headlamps of an installation on objects moved by a conveyor, this device comprising at least one main reservoir capable of supplying successively several secondary reservoirs each dedicated to a projector and means adapted to move the main tank successively to the vicinity of the aforementioned secondary tanks.

The main tank (s) make it possible to feed various secondary tanks of the installation by being moved to these tanks. The main tanks may be conditioned outside the plant in which the installation is installed and, in particular, in the premises of the manufacturer of the coating product, the main tanks then corresponding to a particular packaging of the product. It then suffices to transport different main tanks to the vicinity of the installation and, depending on the coating product to be sprayed, to move a main tank to the various secondary tanks, to feed them coating products. No degradation of the product of shear coating takes place in the main reservoir (s). The secondary tanks remain in the facility and there is no need to manage a large number of disposable cartridges or refill.

According to advantageous aspects of the invention, the device incorporates one or more of the following features:
  • The or each main tank is capable of containing a quantity of coating material sufficient to supply the secondary tanks dedicated to the projectors of the installation for the complete coating of an object or an object side. Thus, for example, a main tank can be used to power all the projectors on one side of the installation, with a suitable amount of paint and without waste. Alternatively, the amount of products present in the main tank corresponds to the complete coating of an object.
  • The aforementioned displacement means comprise at least one conveyor capable of moving the main tanks parallel to the direction of advance of an object moving conveyor.
  • The means for moving the main tanks are constituted by the conveyor for moving the objects to be coated.

According to a first advantageous embodiment of the invention, the main tanks can be connected to at least one secondary tank carried by a robot and associated with a projector.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the device comprises at least one temporary storage station of at least one secondary tank and means for temporary connection of a main tank with at least one secondary tank in place in this station . In this case, the secondary tanks can be filled in masked time in the temporary storage station.

  • acheminer au moins un réservoir principal contenant un produit de revêtement successivement jusqu'au voisinage du réservoir secondaire respectif des projecteurs ;
The invention also relates to a method which can be implemented with the previously described device and, more specifically, to a method which comprises steps of at :
  • conveying at least one main reservoir containing a coating product successively to the vicinity of the respective secondary reservoir of the projectors;
  • transferring coating material from the main tank to the respective secondary tank and
  • supplying at least one of the projectors with coating products from its secondary reservoir.

  • acheminer le réservoir principal jusque dans la zone d'activité d'un robot de positionnement du projecteur et d'un réservoir secondaire dédié à ce projecteur ;
According to a first advantageous embodiment of the invention, the method more particularly comprises the steps of:
  • route the main tank into the area of activity of a projector positioning robot and a secondary tank dedicated to this projector;
  • move the secondary tank by means of the robot to the immediate vicinity of the main tank before transferring the product from the main tank to the secondary tank and
  • after the transfer, move the secondary reservoir to a position in which the projector is able to coat the aforementioned objects.

  • acheminer le réservoir principal jusqu'au voisinage d'une station de stockage temporaire d'au moins un réservoir secondaire ;
According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the method comprises the steps of:
  • conveying the main reservoir to the vicinity of a temporary storage station of at least one secondary reservoir;
  • transferring product from the main reservoir to at least one secondary reservoir in place in the station and
  • mounting at least one secondary reservoir filled from said main tank on a paint application robot.

In this case, it can be provided that each secondary tank forms a subset with a projector to which it is dedicated and that such a subset is mounted on the robot after filling the secondary tank in the temporary storage unit .

Whatever the embodiment considered, the method advantageously consists in filling the reservoir main amount of a sufficient amount for coating the same object or side of the same object by different projectors and to supply the projectors by means of secondary tanks filled by transferring from the main tank.

Finally, the invention relates to a coating product projection installation comprising a device as previously described, optionally implemented by the method as previously described. Such an installation is a cost substantially lower than known installations to be powered with circulatings and much easier to use a facility powered only with cartridges each dedicated to a projector.

  • la figure 1 est une représentation schématique de principe, en vue de dessus, d'une installation conforme à un premier mode de réalisation de l'invention, les projecteurs étant tous en cours d'application ;
  • la figure 2 est une coupe partielle, à plus grande échelle et selon la ligne II-II à la figure 1, d'une partie de l'installation de la figure 1 au cours du nettoyage/remplissage d'un réservoir d'un robot de cette installation ;
The invention will be better understood and other advantages thereof will appear more clearly in the light of the following description of two embodiments of an installation in accordance with its principle, given solely as an example and made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
  • the figure 1 is a schematic representation of principle, in top view, of an installation according to a first embodiment of the invention, the projectors are all being applied;
  • the figure 2 is a partial section, on a larger scale and along the line II-II to the figure 1 , part of the installation of the figure 1 during the cleaning / filling of a tank of a robot of this installation;
  • the figure 3 is a view similar to the figure 1 for an installation according to a second embodiment of the invention and
  • the figure 4 is a basic section along line IV-IV at figure 3 .

Les carrosseries 1 sont chacune supportées par un chariot ou luge 3 entraîné par le convoyeur 2.The installation represented at figure 1 is provided for the liquid paint coating of motor vehicle bodies 1 moved by a conveyor 2 in a generally rectilinear direction X-X '. The bodies 1 are each supported by a trolley or sled 3 driven by the conveyor 2.

La contenance de chaque réservoir 30 à 37 est suffisante pour permettre l'application souhaitée de produits de revêtement sur une carrosserie 1.Multi-axis robots 10 to 17 are distributed, on either side of the conveyor 2 and the sleds 3, and are each equipped with a projector 20 to 27 and an associated reservoir 30 to 37. The tanks 30 to 37 are mounted permanently near the wrist of each robot. The capacity of each reservoir 30 to 37 is sufficient to allow the desired application of coating products on a bodywork 1.

It can be provided that the robots 10 to 13 are dedicated to the application of a first coating layer inside a body while the robots 14 to 17 are dedicated to the application of a second layer to the body. interior of these bodies. According to a variant not shown of the invention, the installation may also comprise other robots dedicated respectively to the application of a first layer and a second layer outside the body, a manual retouching station possibly being provided in the downstream part of the cabin of the installation.

At the end of the coating of a body, each tank 30 to 37 must be cleaned and filled with a new coating product, most often different from that used previously because motor vehicles are painted according to customer orders.

To do this, there is provided, near each robot 10 to 17, stations 40 to 47 for cleaning the tanks. The station 40 is supplied with air through a conduit 40A, and solvent through a conduit 40S, while a 40P bleed conduit to collect the paint and solvent residues resulting from a cleaning operation. The other stations are connected in the same way to their environment.

At the end of the use of the product contained in the reservoir 30, the robot 10 approaches the reservoir 30 and the projector 20 of the station 40, as represented by the arrow F 1 at the figure 2 . A plate 40 f of the station 40 is then pressed onto the sprayer 20, this plate being provided with connection means 40 e able to cooperate with corresponding connection means 20 e provided on the projector 20. Inside the robot 10 are planned unrepresented conduits connecting the projector 20 to the tank 30 and for supplying, from the means 20 e , the tank 30 with air and solvent and to collect the residues.

Thus, the station 40 makes it possible to clean the projector 20 and the tank 30 before a new use.

The situation is similar for stations 41 to 47 and the other projectors and tanks.

For the filling of the tanks 30, 32, 34 and 36, it is intended to circulate the main tanks 50 on a conveyor 52 from a loading area 53 and arriving at an unloading area 54. The conveyor 52 comprises a branch 52 a and a branch 52 b generally parallel to the X-X 'direction, the traffic being effected in the forward direction of the conveyor on the branch 52 a and in the opposite direction on the branch 52 b .

Each main tank 50 has a capacity equal to the sum of the capacities of the tanks 30, 32, 34 and 36 and is provided with 50 connecting means is provided to cooperate with the connection means 30 has disposed on or near the reservoir 30.

Les réservoirs 32, 34 et 36 sont également pourvus de tels moyens de connexion 32a, 34a et 36a.The tanks 32, 34 and 36 are also provided with such connecting means 32, 34a and 36 a.

The operation is as follows: According to the hue provided for a body penetrating into the installation, a tank 50 is selected and arranged, by a manipulator robot not shown, on the loading area from which it is conveyed by the conveyor 52 to the level of the robot 10. At the end of the coating of the previous body, the robot 10 pivots to dock the cleaning station 40 as indicated above. The position of the container 50 is then such that movement F 1 of the robot induces a coupling means 30 a and 50 a, which allows to collect in the tank 50 the amount intended to be stored in the reservoir 30 and applied by the headlamp 20 on this body.

In view of the foregoing, the cleaning of the projector 20 and the tank 30 and the filling of the tank 30 take place by a single movement of the robot 10. In other words, the cleaning position of the projector and tank is the same as the filling position of the tank.

As the robot 10 is docked on the station 40 during the filling of the tank 30 from the tank 50, it is possible to supply the tank 50 with pressurizing air from the station 40 and through the robot 10. Thus, the transferring of products from the tank 50 to the tank 30 can take place under pressure, which makes it possible to reduce the cycle time.

The air supply 40A of the station 40 can also be used to actuate the stirring means provided in the tank 50, in order to homogenize the product before it is transferred to the tank 30.

During this cleaning and filling, the body 1 in question progresses towards the robot 10 and, at the end of the filling operation of the reservoir 30, the application with the projector 20 can begin.

The conveyor 52 then moves the main tank 50 towards the robot 12 at which the tank 32 is cleaned and filled as the tank 30 for the application of the same product on the same body.

The situation is similar with regard to the opposite side of the bodies 1 where a conveyor 52 'is provided, between a loading zone 53' and an unloading zone 54 ', for conveying main tanks 50' up to the level robots 11, 13, 15 and 17 for filling reservoirs 31, 33, 35 and 37.

If other robots are provided downstream of the robots 16 and 17, the capacity of the tanks 50 and 50 'is increased. In any case, the tanks 50 and 50 'carry a sufficient quantity of paint for the complete coating on one side of a bodywork 1. In practice, it is possible to envisage fill the tanks 50 and 50 'with a quantity slightly greater than the theoretical requirements to have a reserve, for example for manual application.

In the case where a manual application station is provided, the tanks 50 and 50 'are conveyed to this station. Painters' guns are equipped with on-board tanks that can be filled from the main tanks. According to an advantageous variant, the manual guns may be devoid of on-board tanks, the guns being directly supplied by the main tanks 50 and 50 'by means of flexible hoses. In this case, a means of pressurizing the interior volume of the main tanks can be provided.

Racks 55 and 55 'are arranged near the loading areas 53 and 53' for the supply of the conveyors 52 and 52 'in the main tanks 50 and 50', depending on the colors selected for the bodies 1. These racks can be prepared outside the paint spraying workshop, the distribution of colors in the different tanks 50 and 50 'being predetermined depending on the intended use of the installation.

In the case of two-component coating products, it is expected that the product base is transported through the main tanks 50 and 50 'while the catalyst, which is identical regardless of the base considered, is brought by a 40K conduit , represented only in figure 2 at the station 40. Thus, when the base tank 30 is filled from the tank 50, a catalyst filling can take place from the station 40.

En variante, le conduit 40K d'alimentation en catalyseur peut être disposé dans le bras de chaque robot, comme représenté en traits mixtes pour le robot 10 à la figure 2.Alternatively, the catalyst supply conduit 40K may be disposed in the arm of each robot, as shown in phantom for robot 10 at the figure 2 .

In all cases, the mixture between the base and the catalyst takes place just before the use of the product contained in the tank 30.

Comme précédemment, des réservoirs principaux 150 et 150' sont acheminés par des convoyeurs 152 et 152' le long du convoyeur 102.In the second embodiment of the invention shown in figures 2 and 3 elements similar to those of the first embodiment bear references In this embodiment, bodies 101 are transported by sleds 103 moved by a conveyor 102. Robots 110 to 117 are disposed on either side of this conveyor and are equipped with subassemblies 160. to 167 each comprising a projector 120 to 127 and a reservoir 130 to 137, each subassembly being removably mounted at the end of the arm of a robot. As before, main tanks 150 and 150 'are conveyed by conveyors 152 and 152' along the conveyor 102.

Between the robots 110 and 112 is installed a station 140 for temporary storage of subsets 160 and the like, this station 140 being intended for the preparation of subassemblies intended to be mounted on the robots 110 and 112.

As is clear from the figure 4 , The station 140 defines four slots 140 a, 140 b, 140 c and 140d receiving subassemblies 160 and 162. Specifically, housing 140 a and 140 b are dedicated to the reception of subassemblies to be mounted on the robot 110 while the housing 140 c and 140 d are dedicated to the subassemblies to be mounted on the robot 112. the housing 140 actually contains a subset 160 'while the housing 140 b is ready for the subset 160 mounted at the end of the robot 110. Similarly, housing 140 c contains a subset 162 'intended to be mounted on the robot 112 while the housing 140d is empty and ready to receive the subset 162 mounted on the robot 112. The subassemblies 160 'and 162' respectively comprise projectors 120 'and 122' and reservoirs 130 'and 132' similar to those of the subassemblies 160 and 162.

In view of the above, it is understood that the robots 110 and 112 take alternately one of the subsets 160 or 162 available in the station 140, the filling of a subset can take place while the other under -All is in use on one of the robots.

This filling takes place through the reservoir 150 which is brought by the conveyor 152 up to the level of the station 140, the reservoir 150 being provided with a means 150 has rapid connection means for connecting 140th carried by a plate 140 f capable of translational movements, represented by the double arrow F 2 at the figure 4 , being controlled by a cylinder 140g which can be hydraulic, pneumatic or electric.

The 140th connection means are connected by flexible pipes not shown in the subsets 160 and 162 present in housing 140 a to 140 d.

It is possible to fill the tanks 130 and 132 of the subassemblies 160 and 162 when they are in place in the station 140 and before the robots 110 and 112 come to take charge of these subassemblies for the projection of the products. coating on the bodies 101.

The reservoir 150 can be supplied with pressurizing air or with air for actuating an agitator from the conduit 140A of the station 140 when the plate 140 f is in contact with the reservoir 150, appropriate connection means being then provided.
