Description

  • The present invention relates to locks, and concerns a lock device particularly for fixtures with side sliding fit to stop the opening through three clamps.
    There are known locks fit to be fixed to vertical uprights of a shutter of a side-sliding fixture. The known locks are provided with a handle for the contemporary rotation of a hook and the translation in opposed directions of two vertical rods. The known locks include a cylinder lock fit to block the handle rotation in a closing condition of the fixture in which the hook is engaged in an anchorage carried out in a fixed frame, or in a second shutter, and the ends of the two vertical rods are inserted into respective seats, upper and lower, carried out in the fixed frame.
    The main drawback of the known locks consists in that they are relatively easy to be picked because the cylinder lock stops only the handle rotation in a closing condition.
    Other drawback consists in that the handle, in order to guarantee a sufficient stroke of the vertical rods, must rotate at least of 180° for rotating of the same angle the hook, which therefore requires a seat or a very wide rotation area, which is bulky and requires a shutter upright of huge dimensions, thus expensive and unaesthetic.
  • Documents A398108 and GB2101667 disclose a lock device for fixtures having a shutter, an anchorage and at least a fixed seat. The device (1) includes a body fixed to the shutter and provided with a transmission mean of a handle to move a hook mean and a drive mean of a rod between opening and closing conditions. Said hook mean and said rod are respectively engaged and disengaged in the anchorage and at in the seat. The device includes stop means moved by lock means in correspondence of a first abutment of the hook mean in correspondence of the closing condition
  • The main object of the present invention is to propose a lock device particularly for fixtures, which is safe and difficult to break open.
    Further object is to propose a small encumbrance device, having a high rod stroke and which is economic, easy to use and reliable.
    The above-mentioned objects are achieved according to the content of the claims.
    The characteristics of the invention are underlined in the following with particular reference to the attached drawings, in which:
    • figure 1 shows a side view of the device, object of the present invention, associated to a shutter, in which some parts have been removed for better underlining others and in a closing condition;
    • figure 2 shows a view of the figure 1 device in an opening condition;
    • figures 3 and 4 show section views of the device respectively of figure 1 and 2;
    • figure 5a shows a plant enlarged view of a hook mean of the figure 1 device;
    • figure 5b shows a plant enlarged view of a blocking mean of the figure 1 device;
    • figure 6 shows an axial view of a transmission mean of figure 1;
    • figure 7 shows a side view of the means of figures 5a and 6 in a mutual assemblage condition;
    • figures 8a and 8b show section views according to the plane VIII-VIII of figure 7 respectively in closing and opening conditions.
  • With reference to figures from 1 to 8b, numeral 1 indicates the lock device particularly for fixtures 2, provided with a shutter 3 and with an anchorage 4 fixed to a second shutter or a frame 31 of the fixture 2. The device 1 has a body 10 fixed to an upright of the shutter 3 for closing the latter by detachably fixing thereof to the anchorage 4 and to two fixed seats 30 of the frame 31.
  • The device 1 is provided with a transmission mean 5 connected to a handle, known and not shown, for opening said device, through a square pivot of the handle, inserted into a complementary hole of the transmission mean 5.
  • The latter transmits the handle motion to a hook mean 6, fit to engage the anchorage 4, and to two drive means 7 which move respective rods 8 blocking the shutter 3, by engaging the seats 30 of the frame 31.
  • The hook mean 6 and the drive means 7 are moved by the transmission mean 5 between an opening condition A, in which the hook mean 6 and the rods 8 are almost inside to the front profile of the shutter 3, and a closing condition C, in which the hook mean 6 and the rods 8 are in an extreme protruding condition from the profile of the shutter 3, engaging respectively the anchorage 4 and the seats 30.
  • The device 1 includes lock means 9, of the key cylinder lock type, provided with an arm rotated by said key for blocking the device 1.
  • The arm of the lock means 9 operates on a connection mean 22, constituted by an opening of block means 15 consisting of a shaped plate translating in a groove of the body 10 because of the arm.
  • The hook mean 6 has a first abutment 13 for stop means 12 fixed to an end of rocker arm means 11 and pushed in the direction of the hook mean 6 by elastic means 14, interposed between the body 10 and the free end of the balance rocker arm means 11 in correspondence of the closing condition C.
  • The first abutment 13 consists in a shoulder, forming with the adjacent surface of the hook mean 6, a slightly acute angle for better engaging the stop means 12 in the closing condition C.
  • The stop means 12 include a shoulder mean 16 that, in the closing condition C, is opposed to the first abutment 13 of the hook mean 6 and lays against the body 10.
  • In the opening condition A, the block means 15 act on the rocker arm means 11, so causing the rotation thereof around a pivot fixing to the body 10 and causing the stop means 12 moving away from the hook mean 6, disengaging the first abutment 13 and allowing the handle rotation.
  • The block means 15 are provided with protrusions 18 fit for engaging cavities 19 of the drive means 7 in the closing condition C.
  • The block means 15 are provided with two second abutment means 20, consisting of through side holes, provided with respective tapered conic portions, one fit for mating one of two holding elastic means 21 in the closing condition C, the other one fit for mating the remaining holding elastic mean 21 in the opening condition A.
  • Each holding mean 21 includes a cavity, carried out in the body 10, slidably accommodating a spring pressed sphere in direction of the block means 15.
  • The transmission mean 5 has a crown gear 28 engaged by racks 29 of the two drive means 7 for the translation of the rods 8.
  • The transmission mean 5 includes a first sector 23, semi-cylinder shaped, sideways protruding and having related first limit stop means 24 consisting of end radial plane portions of the first sector 23.
  • The hook mean 6 has a cavity 27, internally having a second sector 26, cylindrical sector shaped, having second limit stop means 25 consisting of end radial plane portions of the cylindrical sector, and it accommodate, in a partially sliding way, the first sector 23 of the transmission mean 5.
  • The first 23 and second 26 sectors have respective angular extensions that differ of around 90°. More precisely the first extension is equal to about 180° and the second extension is equal to about 90° in order to have a rotation of about 90° of the hook mean 6, through a rotation of about 180° of the transmission mean 5.
  • The operation of the device 1 provides that, in the closing condition C, the insertion of the protrusions 18 of the block means 15 in the cavities 19 of the drive means 7 stops the rods 8 in the respective seats 30 of the frame 31 and the stop means 12 mate the first abutment 13, stopping the hook mean 6 in correspondence of the anchorage 4.
  • The driving of the lock means 9 causes the translation of the block means 15 that set free the rods 8 and, by acting on the rocker arm means 11, set free the hook means 6.
  • The rotation, by the handle, of the transmission mean 5 causes the progressive retraction of the rods 8 and, after a rotation of over 90°, causes the oscillation of the hook mean 6 and the disengagement thereof from the anchorage 4, moving the device 1 in the opening condition A and thus allowing the fixture 2 shutter freely sliding.
  • The return in the closing condition C is made by inverse operations.
  • It is important to observe that if someone attempts to pick the device, trying to rotate the handle, the stop means 12 are compressed between the first abutment 13 and the body 10, advantageously representing a high resistance against the opening.
  • It is also import to observe that the joining between transmission mean 5 and the hook mean through the sectors 23, 26 allows advantageously a wide stroke of the rods 8, limiting at the same time the transversal dimensions of the hook mean 6 in the opening condition A allowing to install the device into shutters having uprights having advantageously reduced dimensions.
  • The main advantage of the present invention is to provide a lock device, which is safe and resistant against the effraction attempts, has small dimensions and a wide stroke of the rods and is economic, easy to use.
