Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé (figure 1) visant à réduire les erreurs des consommateurs dans la sélection d'un médicament destiné à traiter des états asymptomatiques ou chroniques et encourager l'utilisation à long terme d'un médicament approprié. La première étape de ce procédé consiste à guider progressivement le consommateur pour lui faire comprendre les informations portées sur l'étiquette du médicament, ce qui amène le consommateur, par le biais de certains critères, à déterminer si l'utilisation du médicament est appropriée. Une autre étape consiste à inciter le consommateur à lire le feuillet d'instructions inclus dans l'emballage ou regarder un support visuel tel qu'une cassette vidéo lui expliquant les informations portées sur l'étiquette. Une autre étape consiste à encourager le consommateur à utiliser le médicament sur une longue durée, l'inciter à appeler un service téléphonique gratuit afin de parler avec un spécialiste connaissant bien le produit. Pour les consommateurs autorisés à prendre le médicament, le spécialiste donne des conseils sur l'utilisation correcte du produit. Pour des consommateurs non autorisés, le spécialiste conseille au consommateur de discuter du produit et de son état avec un médecin et lui facilite le remboursement intégral du produit.
