Abstract

The clamping element has a clamping insert (2) which is inserted in a casing (1). The insert has a sliding piston (3) inside it. The clamping insert has dogs (20) and a clamping lever (11) pivoted via a connecting rod (8) to the piston. As the piston moves up, it presses the clamping lever onto the workpiece (25) and the clamping insert is lifted higher so that the dogs come under the workpiece, clamping it.
