Definitions

  • the invention relates to a computer housing with reduced manufacturing costs.
  • a one-part or multi-part housing frame defines an essentially cuboid volume, which essentially forms the three-dimensional dimensions of the computer.
  • a frame construction that can be clad with housing wall parts is preferred. It is well known and customary to design individual sides of the housing frame over the entire surface, so that a later housing outside is formed here. The individual sides are covered by housing wall parts, wherein the housing wall parts can be individual surfaces or housing shells.
  • one side of the housing frame is designed as a front side and either clad with a front wall part, or directly formed as such.
  • the case frame In the back of a computer case, the case frame is usually designed directly as a rear wall part. A space that can be equipped with the actual computer functional units remains in the interior of the housing frame. For this purpose, the frame is fanned out with support or fastening units.
  • the carrier units often form part of the housing frame at the same time. They are largely standardized with regard to the mounting options for computer functional units and serve to arrange conventional and large-volume computer functional units, such as circuit boards, expansion cards, drives, power supplies and the like, in the housing.
  • the carrier or fastening units require openings in the housing wall parts to which they are mounted so that the computer functional units can be provided with cables or operated. These openings in the housing wall parts are adapted to the computer function unit to be used in accordance with the prior art.
  • power supplies or power supply units for computers are mostly inserted into the rear wall part of a computer housing. These power supply units are available in many different sizes and designs and therefore there are also very different housing rear wall parts. It is also known to manufacture power supply units for computers in the form of a 5.25-inch computer functional unit.
  • the board can be a main board, a so-called motherboard, or another board, such as a bus or connection board, a so-called backplane.
  • a computer housing has several carriers for printed circuit boards. These carrier units are then arranged side by side or one above the other on a housing wall part.
  • expansion cards are plugged onto the circuit boards of a computer.
  • expansion cards are known that only take over the image processing of a computer or expansion cards that are an independent computer. It is also known to plug expansion cards into their own housing on the boards.
  • the Rushemneit for expansion cards is usually a mounting grid, which is at right angles to the carrier plate of the board and is attached to the rear wall part of the housing. Abstract
