Abstract

The machine has a metal frame and seat together with a system of pulleys, discs or weights (6) that are connected to foot plates (3). The foot plates grip the feet so that the muscles can be exercised under tension. Different attachments can be fitted to the frame suited to exercise of particular muscles.

Description

In this invention, we can see three versions of a machine to exercise the muscles in the lower leg (gemellus, soleus, Achilles' tendon, etc.)
They are designed so that the athlete can perform the exercises as comfortably as possible and at the same time avoid injuries of any type.
To exercise the muscles in this area with these machines, the exercises are not done by lifting weight, but rather by pulling on it, by means of the following mechanisms: pulleys, chains and disks. Thus, other parts of the body do not need to continuously support weight in an incorrect manner, an act that may cause injuries.
The machines of the invention have a main structure, to which all the equipment necessary to perform the exercises is joined. One of these pieces of equipment is the gemellus-improving device, which was described in a previous invention by the same inventor.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The problems that certain machines for exercising the gemellus present when the exercises are being performed are already known.
The cause of these problems is the poor hold of the foot. When performing the exercises, discomfort occurs, producing the risk of injury. On the other hand, when performing the exercises, many times other parts of the body are overburdened, which may cause discomfort and injury. With these machines, the parts of the body that are not being exercised are in a comfortable position and bear no burden, thus avoiding the risk of injury and punishment to these areas, which may cause discomfort in the joints and lead to injury.
With this new invention, when effort is exerted by pulling on the weight, the joints and the lumbar area are relaxed and in a proper position to perform the exercise without causing any injury.
The movements that must be made when performing the exercises are practically comfortable, thanks to the hold on the foot and the comfortable seat.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In this invention, we can see three versions of a machine to exercise the muscles in the lower leg (gemellus, soleus, Achilles' tendon, etc.)
To exercise the muscles in this area with these machines, the exercises are not done by lifting weight, but rather by pulling on it, by means of different mechanisms: pulleys, chains and disks.
The machines of the invention have a main structure to which all the equipment necessary to perform the exercises is joined. One of these pieces of equipment is the seat, which provides comfort, and another is the gemellus-improving device (described in a previous invention by the same inventor) to hold the foot. These two parts are common to all three versions.
After that, each version has different mechanisms. One of the three optional embodiments has a mechanism consisting of pulleys (cables), another is equipped to have disk weights added to it, and the last one is made with chains.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To better understand this document, some drawings are attached in which, by way of example, a practical case for each of the three machines is represented:

  • In figure 4 we can see the system whereby the bases of the gemellus-improving device are secured.

  • Finally, in figures 8 and 9 we see two bases with the corresponding platform supports.
  • PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
    These three versions of the machine are equipped with a metal structure, part 1 (figures 1, 2 and 3), to which a seat is attached, part 2 (figures 1, 2, 3), which allows us to settle into a comfortable position thanks to the fact that it can move in all directi.ons.
    In figures 1 and 2, we can see part of the structure, part 3; this has some guides (1) (figure 4) allowing the bases, part 3 (figure 4) to move together or apart. The bases have a guide (2) allowing us to turn the improving device, part 4 (figures 1 and 2) inwards or outwards.
    The machine in figure 1 is designed to perform the exercise by means of pulleys, part 5; these are equipped with a cable, 5 a, which, when pulled, lifts the plates, part 6.
    The machine (figure 2) is designed to perform the exercise by means of disk weights; these are added to the bars. part 6.
    This last machine (figure 3) performs the exercise by means of chains, part 5; these move a pinion, part 3, which, when it moves, winds the chain up. Pinion 3 a produces the opposite effect, i.e., it unwinds the chain. Pinion 3 b will once again wind the chain up, lifting the weights, part 6. This mechanism is covered by a casing, part 1, whose inner area is transparent.
    The version, which has a means to hold the gemellus-improving device, part 4 (figure 3), consists of a bar, part 4 a (figure 3) that has some orifices that allow us to move the gemellus-improving device to either move them together or apart.
    In this same version (figure 5), we can see how the bar, part 1, is perforated all the way around; this allows us to move the improving device according to the muscle or the intensity with which we wish to work. It is equipped with screw 1 a, which allows us to fasten the part.
    In order to turn the improving device inwards or outwards, we attach two parts, part 1 (figure 6) and part 1 a (figure 7). These two are joined by a screw, part 2 (figure 5), which enables one part to move on the other. To once again secure the part, we tighten the screw, part 2 a (figures 5 and 6). This system can also be attached to the other machines (figures 1 and 2).

    Claims (7)

    1. The machines to exercise the gemellus are designed in such a way that the exercise we are going to perform puts the least strain possible on the joints and prevents all types of injuries resulting from this overburden. They are made up of a system of pulleys (figure 1), of disk weights (figure 2) or of chains (figure 3). With these three options, any muscle that we are going to exercise will not be overburdened with weight; rather, with the systems attached (pulleys, chains, disks), what we will be doing is pulling on it.
    2. Machines to exercise the gemellus, according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that they have a metal structure, part 1 (figure 1) that allows us to attach all the equipment.
    3. Machines to exercise the gemellus, according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that they have a seat, part 2 (figure 2) that allows us to be more comfortable when performing the exercises.
    4. The machines to exercise the gemellus, according to claim 1, are equipped with some platforms, part 4 (figure 2) (gemellus-improving device) that give a better hold on the foot. These are explained in detail in the previous invention.
    5. In the machines to exercise the gemellus, according to claim 1, we see the bases, part 5 (figure 2) that are attached to the machines in figures 1 and 2.
    6. These machines, according to claim 1, have a rail (1) system (figure 4) that allows us to move them to the sides. This can be replaced by a system, part 4 a (figure 3) consisting of a perforated bar, part 1 (figure 5). With these holes, we can move the gemellus-improving device according to the muscle we wish to exercise or the desired degree of intensity.
    7. In the machines to exercise the gemellus, according to claim 1, in figures 8 and 9 we can see two bases made up of two supports. One of these is part 1 (figure 8), and the other is part 2 (figure 9). These two parts allow us to maintain the platforms' orientation in order to easily attach them.
