Abstract
Description
- This invention relates to a disassemblable cupboard, made up of a number of modules which can be assembled easily and quickly.
- It is currently very common for disassembled cupboards to be sold so that users can assemble them in their definitive place of utilisation. This practice has the advantage of low cost, since users do not have to pay assembly costs. Moreover, the modules of these cupboards are easy to transport due to the fact that they occupy little space.
- This type of cupboard is composed of a number of modules that form the top and bottom parts of the cupboard, and also its sides and doors. These modules are usually joined to each other by means of nails or screws, a considerable number of which are needed to achieve sufficient rigidity of the cupboard. Although the manufacturers of this type of cupboards try to make the assembly thereof as easy and fast as possible, this assembly system has the disadvantage of being awkward and calling for the devotion of considerable time.
- The patent DE-A-1025837 discloses a disassemblable cupboard, constituted by a plurality of modules attachable to each other, said modules forming the top, bottom, rear, side and door parts of the cupboard, the rear part being made up of a number of constructional elements attachable to each other, and to the side modules by means of a plurality of fixing pins designed to be housed in complimentary orifices made in adjacent modules.
- The patent DE-A-19615998 discloses a disassemblable cupboard which comprises a side parts, a base, an upper and a rear parts fastened by means of assembly means comprising clips arranged in pair of orifices placed face to face and forming wings.
- ES-A-1025837 discloses a cupboard according to the preamble of the independent claim. Interconnection of the various modules is rather laborious.
- This type of cupboard also has the disadvantage that fitting the various modules together is sometimes complicated, since wrong placement can make the assembly unsuitable.
- The cupboard of the invention manages to resolve the aforesaid disadvantages, while presenting other advantages which will be described below.
- The disassemblable cupboard of the invention is defined in
claim 1. - Thanks to this characteristic, assembly of the cupboard is very convenient and fast, since the pins can be inserted easily in the orifices provided for the purpose. Moreover, thanks to the presence of said longitudinal ribs and channels it is very easy to fit the modules together correctly, which also means that assembly time for the cupboard of the invention is reduced.
- According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, said fixing pins have a pair of elastic lugs which separate from each other when they are placed in their fixing position. A further preferred embodiment is defined in
claim 3. - The presence of these guides also facilitates correct positioning of the modules in relation to each other, thereby speeding up still further assembly of the cupboard of the invention.
- For a better understanding of all that has been described in this specification some drawings are attached which, solely by way of example, show a practical case of embodiment of the cupboard of the invention.
- In said drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the interior of the cupboard, in which for the purposes of clarity the top part and the doors have not been shown.
- Figure 2 is a cross-section view of the rear part of the cupboard of the invention already assembled, with the fixing pins separated; and
- Figure 3 is an exploded perspective view of the zone of union of the bottom part of the cupboard with one of the sides.
- As Figure 1 shows, the disassemblable cupboard of the invention is made up of a plurality of modules which are attached to each other, defining the
rear part 1, thesides 2 and thebottom part 3, in addition to the top part and the doors, which for reasons of clarity have not been shown, as stated above. - The rear part of the cupboard of the invention is made up of a pair of
modules 4, 5 which are attached to each other, as can be seen in greater detail in Figure 2. - The first module 4 which forms the back of the cupboard of the invention defines a longitudinal rib 6 in one of its sides and a channel 7 in the opposite side. The
second module 5, which also forms the back of the cupboard of the invention defines in itssides channels 8 which are identical to each other and also identical to the channel 7 of the first module 4. In their turn, the sides of thecupboard 2 also havelongitudinal ribs 9 identical to the longitudinal rib of the first module 4 stated above. These channels and longitudinal ribs are complementary in such a way that the longitudinal ribs are inserted into the channels, forming the back of the cupboard of the invention. - In order to attach to each other the
modules 4, 5 which form the back of the cupboard and also to fix them with respect to the sides of thecupboard 2, the longitudinal ribs and the channels have a plurality ofcomplementary orifices 10 for the insertion offixing pins 11. - The
fixing pins 11, which are shown in Figure 2, have a pair ofelastic lugs 12 which are separated from each other when thepins 11 are in their fixing position. - Figure 3 shows the system of fixing the
bottcm part 3 of the cupboard to thesides 2 of same. It should be noted that this fixing system is identical to the system which also used for fixing the top part of the cupboard (not shown) to the sides of same. - As this figure shows, the
modules 2 which form the sides comprise a first U-shapedguide 13, which incorporates in its interior a number of substantially U-shapedprofiles 14 provided in their top part with anorifice 15. - The module which forms the bottom part of the
cupboard 3 comprises a second U-shapedguide 16 that can be attached to saidfirst guide 13, saidsecond guide 16 being provided with a number oforifices 17 complementary to theorifices 15 of the substantiallyU-shaped profiles 14. In saidorifices 15 of the substantially U-shaped profiles and in thecomplementary orifices 17 of thesecond guide 16bolts 18 are inserted with the interposition ofwashers 19 in order to fix the position of the top and bottom parts of the cupboard with respect to the sides. - Despite the fact that reference has been made to a specific embodiment of the invention, it will be obvious to experts in the subject that the cupboard described lends itself to numerous variations and modifications, and that all the details mentioned can be replaced by others that are technically equivalent without departing from the sphere of protection defined in the attached claims.
