Diese Kurbelwelle, die aufgrund der nebeneinander angeordneten Membranpumpen zwangsläufig eine nicht unbeträchtliche Länge aufweist, ist an ihren beiden Enden mittels jeweils einer Lagerstelle in einem Gehäuse gelagert. Aufgrund dieser zwangsläufig größeren Länge der Kurbelwelle muß diese auch relativ stark, d.h. mit ausreichend großem Durchmesser, ausgebildet sein.
