Abstract
L'invention a trait à des micro-organismes oxydant l'éthylène, lesquels sont capables de réduire la teneur en éthylène d'un gaz contenant de l'éthylène à des niveaux inférieurs à 0,1 ppm et présentant une efficacité d'élimination de l'éthylène dépassant 90 % même à des températures voisines de 10 °C. Les micro-organismes présentent un degré élevé de stabilité opérationnelle lorsqu'on les utilise dans un bioréacteur pendant des durées prolongées en présence d'éthylène et, lorsqu'on les mélange à une matière de support, ils peuvent être stockés pendant plusieurs semaines en l'absence d'éthylène sans perte significative de leur capacité d'élimination de l'éthylène. On utilise un bioréacteur comprenant le micro-organisme afin de réguler la teneur en éthylène dans des installations de stockages de produits agricoles ou horticoles.
