Abstract

Radius (rPC) of image cylinder (2), radius (rIT) of transfer cylinder (5), material and form of elastic coating (7) and positioning of the cylinders are selected so the overdrive, resulting from changes in engagement due to non-circular shape of image cylinder, is expressed as: VIT at nip/VIToutside of nip. Hence possible errors due to non-circular shape of image cylinder are prevented.
