Definitions
- the invention relates to absorbent disposable articles such as those used in the hygiene sector can be used, for example for baby diapers, sanitary napkins, panty liners, Adult incontinence aids ("adult diapers”) and the like.
- Disposable absorbent articles are usually built up in layers and exist at least from a body-side, liquid and air permeable Covering layer, made of a liquid-tight clothing facing Cover layer and an absorbent arranged between these layers Core.
- the disposable absorbent articles function, in simplified form, in the Way that the fluids emitted by the body penetrate liquid-permeable layer and in the absorbent core be recorded and held.
- the rear liquid-impermeable Cover layer prevents parts of the liquid absorbed by the core leave absorbent article towards the wearer and his clothing pollute.
- liquid distribution fleeces it is known to improve the rewetting property of Use hygiene products, so-called liquid distribution fleeces, as they do be proposed for example in DE 19732039 A1.
- Such nonwovens ensure a good fluid distribution, combined with a high Intake speed for the liquid, so that large accruing Amounts of liquid are quickly absorbed by the absorption layer can.
- the liquid is suitably spread over the entire surface of the absorbent body distributed so that a large proportion of the total capacity of the absorbent core can be used for liquid binding.
- absorbent Mixtures of microfibers and hydrogel-forming substances for reduction rewetting can be used.
- WO 97/33546 A1 describes an absorbent article with improved Wetting properties described, which is able to through layers with funnel-shaped openings to feed the liquid very quickly to the core and to tie them there.
- the article proposed in this document also has one relatively complicated structure.
- US Pat. No. 4,531,945 describes a relatively complicated structure multilayer article described, which through a central opening a good Penetration favored.
- U.S. Patent 5,810,798 describes the improvement in rewetting through a multi-layer structure using materials with different Suction speeds.
- the absorbent article 1 consists of an upper, liquid-permeable covering layer 10 facing the body, a lower, liquid-impermeable layer 11 facing the clothing of the wearer and a multilayer absorbent core 13, 14, 15 located between these layers 10, 11 , 16th
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 is the layer of the absorbent article 1 which first comes into contact with the substances released by the body and therefore has the task of absorbing at least the liquid components of these substances and letting them pass inside the absorbent article 1 .
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 therefore has an air- and liquid-permeable, porous structure.
- Nonwovens are preferably used for the absorbent article 1 according to the invention.
- Perforated films can also be used, which can additionally be connected to a nonwoven.
- a suitable film covering is described, for example, in WO 96/26697 A1.
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 of the absorbent article 1 according to the invention consists of a perforated nonwoven material, as is described for example in EP 164740 B1.
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 consists of a hydrophobic perforated nonwoven fabric, since it has been shown that in connection with the construction of the absorbent article 1 according to the invention it gives the best results with regard to the rate of penetration of the body fluid and prevention of rewetting.
- Nonwovens spunbond nonwovens, meltblown nonwovens and combinations from it or water jet bonded nonwovens for use (literature: Lünenschand / Albrecht: 'Vliesstoffe'; Georg Thieme Verlag, Stuttgart, New York).
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 usually has a basis weight of 8 to 100 g / m 2, preferably 12 to 50 g / m 2. If nonwovens are used, the raw materials consist of polyester, polyamide, polyacrylonitrile, viscose or natural fibers or of mixtures of the raw materials mentioned.
- the raw materials used for the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 preferably consist of polyolefins such as polyethylene or polypropylene. Nonwovens made from bicomponent fibers, the core of which is made of polypropylene and the sheath of which is made of polyethylene, for example, are also suitable.
- the clothing-side liquid-impermeable layer 11 has the task of protecting the clothing of the wearer directly adjoining the absorbent article 1 and also the overlying layers of the clothing of the wearer from soiling which could escape from the absorbent core.
- the liquid-impermeable layer 11 consists of a waterproof and airtight material, such as a plastic film.
- this plastic film can be laminated with a nonwoven fabric to improve the textile appearance, as proposed, for example, in WO 97/00056 A1.
- the liquid-impermeable layer 11 is made watertight but permeable to water vapor.
- WO 97/16148 A1 proposes such a cover, which consists of at least one spunbond layer and two meltblown layers. Simple designs of a spunbond / meltblown composite nonwoven as a liquid-impermeable layer 11 are also suitable.
- the liquid-impermeable layer 11 consists of a waterproof but water-vapor-permeable polyethylene film and in a further preferred embodiment of a combination of the aforementioned water-vapor-permeable and waterproof film in conjunction with a nonwoven.
- the liquid impervious layer 11 is a combination of a nonwoven and a paper. Such a layer is described in DE 19912044 A1.
- the absorbent core 13, 14, 15, 16 of the absorbent article 1 according to the invention has a multilayer structure.
- the first core layer 13 consists of a hydrophilic, synthetic microfiber fleece, which is “partially covered” by a covering 15 made of a low-density non-woven material.
- a second core layer 14 made of a hydrophilic, synthetic microfiber fleece, which can be identical to that of the first core layer 13 , or can also differ from this layer, for example in terms of the mass per unit area.
- a further core layer 16 made of a highly water-storing material.
- the hydrophilic, synthetic microfiber fleece of the first core layer 13 preferably consists of a polypropylene meltblown nonwoven which is hydrophilized by the addition of a wetting agent. This can be done either by adding a hydrophilizing agent to the granulate melt during the production of nonwovens, or by adding a surfactant to the finished nonwoven by means of an aftertreatment. A combination of the two methods is also possible. Hydrophilic meltblown nonwovens are described, for example, in US Pat. No. 4,307,143 or in US Pat. No. 4,578,414.
- the nonwoven fabric of the first core layer 13 has a basis weight of 10 to 100 g / m2.
- the nonwoven preferably has a basis weight of 30 to 70 g / m 2.
- the nonwoven fabric can be integrated in a planar form ( FIG. 6a) in the absorbent article 1 , but it can also be in a multilayer form ( FIG. 6b) , of which the folded form (FIG. 6c) represents a preferred embodiment.
- This first core layer 13 is partially surrounded by a covering 15 made of a low-density nonwoven.
- the first partial aspect means that on the upper side of the first core layer 13 (FIG. 3) this covering 15 has an opening 6, starting from the intersection of the longitudinal and transverse axes 9 of the absorbent article 1 , at which the covering 15 is interrupted.
- This opening 6 is dimensioned such that it comprises a maximum of 70% of the width of the absorbent article 1 and a maximum of 50% of the length of the absorbent article 1 .
- the shape of this opening 6 is arbitrary. A round, oval, kidney-shaped or lanceolate shape which is symmetrical to the longitudinal central axis 8 of the absorbent article 1 is preferred.
- the edges 18 of the opening 6 are delimited by the envelope 15 .
- the second partial aspect means that on the underside (FIG. 4) of the first core layer 13, the uncovered area 12 extends in equal parts to the left and right of the longitudinal central axis 8 of the absorbent article 1 in the longitudinal direction. It is advantageous if the width of the uncovered area 12 does not exceed 70% of the total width of the absorbent article 1 .
- the non-enveloped region 12 is essentially continuous from the front end face 2 of the absorbent article 1 to the rear end face 3 of the absorbent article 1 and is delimited on the sides 20 from the wrapper 15 in the longitudinal region 19 .
- “Covered” in the sense of this invention is to be understood as covering the top, the bottom and the lateral longitudinal edges of the first core layer 13.
- this term also includes an embodiment in which at least the top and the bottom of the first core layer 13 in the The previously described shape is covered, but not the lateral longitudinal edges of the first core layer 13.
- This embodiment can be done, for example, by inserting the sheath 15 in the form of several strips, which then cover the top and the bottom, but not the lateral longitudinal edges of the first core layer 13 cover in the form previously described.
- the sheath 15 is a nonwoven fabric made of synthetic fibers, such as. B. from polypropylene fibers, from polyester fibers, from polyester / copolyester bicomponent fibers, from polyester / polyethylene bicomponent fibers or from mixtures of the aforementioned fibers.
- the density of this nonwoven measured in accordance with DIN 53855, part 2 (determination of the nonwoven thickness at low preloads), is 10 to 50 kg / cbm, preferably 15 to 30 kg / cbm with a mass per unit area of 25 to 70 g / sqm.
- nonwoven is essentially known from DE 29723320 U1, it being noted that in the present invention said nonwoven is not used as a liquid distribution nonwoven but rather as a kind of "non-return brake" to prevent liquid from the absorbent core is released towards the body of the wearer.
- the fact that the above-mentioned insert is not a liquid distribution fleece is evidenced by the fact that precisely that point of the absorbent article 1 which comes into contact with the largest amount of liquid passes through the opening 6 described above at the top of the first Core layer 13 is not covered with the sheath 15 and thus no liquid distribution function can be performed.
- the covering of the first core layer 13 takes place partially, the non-covered areas 6, 12 having a key function in the liquid line.
- the liquid is conducted into the interior of the absorbent article at the non-covered area 6 , whereas it is prevented from refluxing at the covered areas.
- the non-enveloped area 12 serves to forward the liquid into the second core layer 14 and the further core layer 16 .
- the sheath 15 can with the first core layer 13 z. B. be firmly connected by hot melt adhesive, but it can also be placed loosely around the first core layer 13 in order to enter only a loose connection to the first core layer 13 .
- the second core layer 14 of the absorbent article 1 consists of a hydrophilic, synthetic microfiber nonwoven, preferably of a hydrophilic polypropylene meltblown nonwoven.
- This second core layer 14 can be placed flat in the absorbent article 1 , but it can also be folded up, if necessary, so that there are several layers one above the other.
- the second core layer 14 can have the same basis weights as the first core layer 13 , but it can also have different basis weights.
- the hydrophilic, synthetic microfiber fleece of the second core layer 14 has a mass per unit area of 10 to 100 g / m 2 , preferably of 30 to 70 g / m 2 . As shown in FIGS. 6 a to 6 c, this can also be designed in one or more layers.
- the absorbent article 1 has a further core layer 16 made of highly water-storing material which adjoins the second core layer 14 .
- This material consists essentially of cellulose fibers which, for example, can contain further fibers, preferably polyolefin fibers, most preferably polypropylene / polyethylene bicomponent fibers, for strengthening.
- This further core layer 16 made of water-storing material is preferably in the form of a tissue or in the form of an airlaid nonwoven.
- the further core layer 16 can alternatively consist of a layer of superabsorbent particles or of superabsorbent fibers. Such materials often consist of slightly cross-linked polyacrylic acid and are familiar to the person skilled in the art, which is why they need not be explained in more detail here.
- the further core layer 16 consists of highly water-storing material such as tissue or airlaid nonwoven in conjunction with superabsorbent particles and / or superabsorbent fibers.
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 facing the body is firmly connected to the upper side of the first core layer 13 at least at the location of the opening 6 of the casing. This is necessary in order to ensure liquid conduction from the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 into the first core layer 13 .
- the top of the absorbent article is firmly connected to the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 over the entire surface, ie in the region of the opening 6 and on the upper part of the casing 15 .
- Methods known to the person skilled in the art such as e.g. B. spiral or sprayed hot melt adhesive application available.
- the first core layer 13 is furthermore firmly connected to the second core layer 14 at least on its underside in the uncovered regions 12 .
- the firm connection between the first core layer 13 and the second core layer 14 can only be present at the location of the non-covered area 12 , but also over the entire area of the underside of the first core layer 13 , that is to say also in the area of the covering 15 .
- the connection is done by methods familiar to the person skilled in the art, such as, for. B. an adhesive bond by helically applied or sprayed hot melt adhesive.
- An essential aspect of the invention is the formation of a density gradient which occurs in the case of the covering 15 at the transitions 17 to the opening 6 , on the upper side of the first core layer 13 and to the non-covered area 12 on the underside of the first core layer 13 .
- This density gradient arises because, in said edge regions 18, the covering 15, which consists of the low-density nonwoven, is compressed by the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 .
- the same happens through the second core layer 14 which compresses the edges 19 of the casing 15 .
- This density gradient contributes to the fact that the body fluid to be absorbed is distributed by capillary forces into the width of the absorbent article 1 and, once there, is prevented from flowing back towards the body.
- FIG. 5 schematically shows the liquid flow into and within the absorbent article 1, indicated by the arrows. Most of the liquid accordingly occurs on the body side near the opening 6 , penetrates the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 , which preferably contains openings 7 , at the location of the opening 6 and enters the absorbent article 1 .
- the liquid Due to the hydrophilic character of the synthetic microfiber fleece of the first core layer 13 and due to the close contact with the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 as a result of its firm connection to the first core layer 13 , the liquid is absorbed very quickly and at least part of the resulting liquid is already within the first core layer 13 distributed in width. The largest part of the liquid distributed in the width reaches those areas 21 which are covered by the covering 15 with the low-density nonwoven. Due to the low density of the nonwoven and because of its thickness, there are hardly any capillary forces within the nonwoven, with the exception of the location of the density gradient 17 , and consequently the liquid does not flow back towards the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 .
- the other part of the resulting liquid enters in the non-coated portion 12 on the underside of the first core layer 13, which forms the second core layer 14 due to the fixed connection to the high capillary forces in the second core layer 14 which is also made of a synthetic microfiber web.
- a large part of this amount of liquid is distributed in width within the second core layer 14 and is prevented from flowing back into the first core layer 13 and to the body-side cover 10 at the location of the regions 21 which are covered by the sheath 15 .
- the remaining part of the amount of liquid passes from the second core layer 14 into the further core layer 16, which consists of highly liquid-binding material and is bound there.
- a sanitary napkin is constructed analogously to the illustration in FIG. 2 :
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 consists of a carded hydrophobic polypropylene thermobonding nonwoven with a basis weight of 24 g / m 2 , which has perforations with an open area of approximately 21%.
- the first core layer 13 and the second core layer 14 each consist of a polypropylene meltblown nonwoven with a basis weight of 60 g / m 2 , which has been hydrophilized by means of a surfactant.
- the covering 15 consists of a hot air-bonded carded nonwoven fabric, consisting of a polyethylene / polyester sheath / core bicomponent fiber with a fiber titer of 3.3 dtex, with a mass per unit area of 30 g / m 2 and a thickness measured according to DIN 53855 T2 of 1, 2 mm, which corresponds to a density of 25 kg / m 3 .
- the further core layer 16 consists of a tissue paper with a basis weight of 70 g / m 2
- a polyethylene film with a thickness of 18 ⁇ m was used as the liquid-impermeable layer 11 .
- the sanitary napkin thus produced had a rectangular shape and a length of 180 mm and a width of 65 mm.
- the sheath 15 was placed around the first core layer 13 in such a way that a non-covered area 12 with a width of 15 mm extending in the X direction was created on the underside.
- a lanceolate opening 6 with a length of 40 mm and a width of 25 mm was arranged through a recess in the casing 15 , centrally to the intersection 9 of the longitudinal and transverse axes of the upper side.
- the liquid-permeable cover layer 10 was fastened to the first core layer 13 in the region of the opening 6 by means of hot-melt adhesive sprayed on with 1.5 g / m 2 .
- the first core layer 13 was also attached to the second core layer 14 at the location of the lower non-enveloped region 12 with hot melt adhesive sprayed on by means of 1.5 g / m 2 .
- the further core layer 16 was loosely placed under the second core layer 14 and fastened to the liquid-impermeable layer 11 by means of hot-melt adhesive sprayed on with 1.5 g / m 2 .
- the starting materials essentially corresponded to those of the exemplary embodiment.
- the liquid distribution fleece is the material described in DE 29723320 U1 made of a polyethylene / polyester sheath / core bicomponent fiber with a fiber titer of 3.3 dtex, a basis weight of 30 g / m 2 and a thickness of 1.2 according to DIN 53855 T2 mm, which corresponds to a density of 25 kg / m 3 . It corresponds to the low-density nonwoven fabric of the exemplary embodiment, but is used in a different way in accordance with its changed task.
- the structure of the comparative example is therefore as follows:
- the liquid distribution fleece is positioned under the body-side cover and attached to the clothing-side cover with hot-melt adhesive sprayed on with 1.5 g / m 2 .
- first and a second layer of the hydrophilic meltblown nonwoven of the exemplary embodiment are also connected to one another with hot-melt adhesive sprayed on at 1.5 g / m 2 .
- another layer of highly liquid-binding material in the form of a tissue paper is inserted and attached to the cover on the clothing side by means of hot-melt adhesive sprayed on with 1.5 g / m 2 .

Description
The invention relates to absorbent disposable articles such as those used in the hygiene sector can be used, for example for baby diapers, sanitary napkins, panty liners, Adult incontinence aids ("adult diapers") and the like.
In the following description and in the examples, for the sake of simplicity, reference is frequently made to the use of the absorbent article according to the invention as a sanitary napkin. However, this does not change the fact that the other absorbent articles listed, for example, at the beginning can also be designed in the sense of this invention.
The description of the absorbent article according to the invention is essentially concerned with the absorbent part of this article, since this is the essence of the article. It goes without saying that the absorbent article according to the invention can be equipped with other useful objects such as closures, adhesive strips, elastic bands, leg cuffs, adhesive systems, etc.
Disposable absorbent articles are usually built up in layers and exist at least from a body-side, liquid and air permeable Covering layer, made of a liquid-tight clothing facing Cover layer and an absorbent arranged between these layers Core. The disposable absorbent articles function, in simplified form, in the Way that the fluids emitted by the body penetrate liquid-permeable layer and in the absorbent core be recorded and held. The rear liquid-impermeable Cover layer prevents parts of the liquid absorbed by the core leave absorbent article towards the wearer and his clothing pollute.
We speak of rewetting in a hygiene product then when from the liquid-loaded suction core under pressure fluid is released towards the body again. Aim more modern It is hygiene products that the skin of the user remains as dry as possible, i. H., as little fluid as possible is returned to the body. It can be a Most of the liquid in the absorbent body is good due to the fact that in modern hygiene articles mostly present superabsorbent particles are retained, however the absorbent body feels damp.
As a result of rewetting a hygiene article, skin irritation can occur Carrier because of the constantly present moist microclimate, or because of decomposition products occurring when the hygiene article is worn for a long time substances released by the body.
It is known to improve the rewetting property of Use hygiene products, so-called liquid distribution fleeces, as they do be proposed for example in DE 19732039 A1. Such nonwovens ensure a good fluid distribution, combined with a high Intake speed for the liquid, so that large accruing Amounts of liquid are quickly absorbed by the absorption layer can. At the same time, the liquid is suitably spread over the entire surface of the absorbent body distributed so that a large proportion of the total capacity of the absorbent core can be used for liquid binding.
Likewise, as described in DE 4447152 A1, absorbent Mixtures of microfibers and hydrogel-forming substances for reduction rewetting can be used.
Der hier beschriebene Artikel ist mehrschichtig und zeigt einen komplizierten Aufbau.DE 19640451 A1 also deals with an absorbent article, which has a low rewet. The article described here is multilayered and shows a complicated structure.
Auch der in dieser Schrift vorgeschlagene Artikel hat einen relativ komplizierten Aufbau.WO 97/33546 A1 describes an absorbent article with improved Wetting properties described, which is able to through layers with funnel-shaped openings to feed the liquid very quickly to the core and to tie them there. The article proposed in this document also has one relatively complicated structure.
Likewise, US Pat. No. 4,531,945 describes a relatively complicated structure multilayer article described, which through a central opening a good Penetration favored.
Patent 5,810,798 describes the improvement in rewetting through a multi-layer structure using materials with different Suction speeds.
It is the object of the present invention to provide an absorbent article with very to provide good rewetting properties, which one has a comparatively simple structure and is accordingly easy to manufacture is.
The object is achieved according to the features of
absorbierenden Kern 13, 14, 15, 16.The
The liquid-
Als flüssigkeitsdurchlässige Abdeckschicht 10 kommen unterschiedliche Materialien
in Frage. Für den erfindungsgemäßen absorbierenden Artikel 1 werden bevorzugt
Vliesstoffe eingesetzt.
Different materials can be used as the liquid-
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the liquid-
Als Vliesstoffe kommen kardierte, thermisch verfestigte oder bindemittelverfestigte Vliesstoffe, weiterhin Spinnvliesstoffe, Meltblownvliesstoffe sowie Kombinationen daraus oder auch wasserstrahlverfestigte Vliesstoffe zum Einsatz (Literatur: Lünenschloß/Albrecht: 'Vliesstoffe"; Georg Thieme Verlag, Stuttgart, New York).Carded, thermally bonded or bond-bonded come as nonwovens Nonwovens, spunbond nonwovens, meltblown nonwovens and combinations from it or water jet bonded nonwovens for use (literature: Lünenschloß / Albrecht: 'Vliesstoffe'; Georg Thieme Verlag, Stuttgart, New York).
The liquid-
The clothing-side liquid-
beschrieben. In a further preferred embodiment, the liquid-
The
The hydrophilic, synthetic microfiber fleece of the
The first partial aspect means that on the upper side of the first core layer 13 (FIG. 3) this
begrenzt. The second partial aspect means that on the underside (FIG. 4) of the
Kernschicht 13 in der vorher beschriebenen Form bedecken."Covered" in the sense of this invention is to be understood as covering the top, the bottom and the lateral longitudinal edges of the
The
Kernschicht 14 und die weitere Kernschicht 16.It is namely essential for the
The
Like the
The
The
In a preferred embodiment, the
The liquid-
The
This measure ensures that the liquid which has penetrated into the
The firm connection between the
An essential aspect of the invention is the formation of a density gradient which occurs in the case of the covering 15 at the
FIG. 5 schematically shows the liquid flow into and within the
verteilt.
nicht zurück in Richtung flüssigkeitsdurchlässige Abdeckschicht 10.Due to the hydrophilic character of the synthetic microfiber fleece of the
The other part of the resulting liquid enters in the
The remaining part of the amount of liquid passes from the
Due to this construction, the tendency to rewet is Hygiene products counteracted in an optimal way.
The liquid-
The
The covering 15 consists of a hot air-bonded carded nonwoven fabric, consisting of a polyethylene / polyester sheath / core bicomponent fiber with a fiber titer of 3.3 dtex, with a mass per unit area of 30 g / m 2 and a thickness measured according to DIN 53855 T2 of 1, 2 mm, which corresponds to a density of 25 kg / m 3 .
von 70 g/m2 The
A polyethylene film with a thickness of 18 μm was used as the liquid-
The sanitary napkin thus produced had a rectangular shape and a length of 180 mm and a width of 65 mm. The
befestigt.

The
Aufgabe entsprechend in anderer Weise eingesetzt. The starting materials essentially corresponded to those of the exemplary embodiment.
The liquid distribution fleece is the material described in DE 29723320 U1 made of a polyethylene / polyester sheath / core bicomponent fiber with a fiber titer of 3.3 dtex, a basis weight of 30 g / m 2 and a thickness of 1.2 according to DIN 53855 T2 mm, which corresponds to a density of 25 kg / m 3 . It corresponds to the low-density nonwoven fabric of the exemplary embodiment, but is used in a different way in accordance with its changed task.
The structure of the comparative example is therefore as follows: The liquid distribution fleece is positioned under the body-side cover and attached to the clothing-side cover with hot-melt adhesive sprayed on with 1.5 g / m 2 .
Below this are a first and a second layer of the hydrophilic meltblown nonwoven of the exemplary embodiment. The layers are also connected to one another with hot-melt adhesive sprayed on at 1.5 g / m 2 . Underneath, another layer of highly liquid-binding material in the form of a tissue paper is inserted and attached to the cover on the clothing side by means of hot-melt adhesive sprayed on with 1.5 g / m 2 .
Using a dropper, 5 ml "synthetic menstrual fluid" evenly over a period of 3 min. applied to the article to be tested. After an exposure time of 2 minutes, 10 layers of Whatman # 4 filter paper, the mass of which has been determined beforehand, are placed with a diameter of 150 mm on the entry point and loaded for 1 minute with a mass of 1.5 kg with a diameter of 60 mm. The rewet value in grams is determined by reweighing the filter paper and forming the difference between the values of the dry and the loaded filter paper.
