Labelling device for labelling articles, more especially bottles, said device having a plurality of stations which are disposed one behind the other along a path, these stations being a gluing device (12), a label storage station (13) and a label transferring station (15), said device also having at least one extracting means (2, 3, 4, 5), which is rotatably mounted on a rotating carrier (1) and moved past the stations (12, 13, 14) with each rotation of the carrier (1), each extracting means having an outwardly curved receiving face, which travels along the front side of the stack of labels (13) and past the other stations (12, 13), to receive the label to be extracted, a mechanism being provided as the drive for each extracting means (2, 3, 4, 5) and comprising a stationary twin-cam disc, which is common to all of the extracting means (2, 3, 4, 5) and has unilateral cams disposed one above the other in two planes, and comprising two sets of engaging members which are mounted by means of a carrier member on a bearing shaft connected to the drive shaft (6, 7, 8) and which ensure the compulsory travel of each extracting means (2, 3, 4, 5) over its full rotation by a form-fitting arrangement with the two cams during rotation of the carrier (1), the engaging members (18, 19) of the extracting means (2, 3, 4, 5) having operative lever arms of identical length, which arms lie in an identical graduated circle relative to their axis of rotation, characterised in that the geometry of the twin-cam disc is such that, once the extracting means have travelled past the stations from this rotary position, at least between the box of labels (13) and the pick-up cylinder (14), these extracting means (2-5) are set to rotate in such a manner that their curved receiving face (2'-5') thereby points outwardly in the free region.
  2. Labelling device according to the preamble of claim 1, characterised in that the oppositely situated engaging members (18 and 19 respectively) of the extracting means are disposed on a first line (21) which extends externally of a second line (22), which extends centrally relative to the curved receiving face through the axis of rotation thereof.
  3. Labelling device according to claim 2, characterised in that this first line extends in the rear half-region of the receiving face, when viewed with respect to the direction of rotation.
  4. Labelling device according to claim 1, characterised in that the second line extends in front of the central line of the station, when viewed in the direction of rotation of the extracting means at least in one rotary position, parallel to said central line.
  5. Labelling device according to claim 1, characterised in that the extracting means accomplish only one rotation between the pick-up cylinder (14) and the gluing device (12).
  6. Labelling device according to claim 1, characterised in that the double cam is configured in such a manner that, after the extracting means have left predetermined stations and are between a following station, they are rotated more than just to the required rotary position at the beginning of a travel movement to pass the next station.
