Abstract

Eine Frankiereinrichtung ist für einen Selbsttest programmiert, festzustellen, ob eine automatische Installation durchzuführen und ein Laden eines kundenspezifischen Datensatzes in einen nichtflüchtigen Speicher vorzunehmen oder im Falle einer bereits früher erfolgten Installation nicht durchzuführen ist. Das Verfahren zur automatischen Installation weist die Schritte auf:

  • a) Speichern eines den in die Frankiereinrichtung eingespeicherten Maschinendaten entsprechenden Spiegeldatensatz zugeordnet einem Nummerncode in der Datenzentrale,
  • b) Übermitteln von erfaßten Kundendaten einer verkauften Frankiereinrichtung zur Datenzentrale,
  • c) Speichern der Kundendaten in der Datenzentrale zugeordnet zum Nummerncode,
  • d) Bereitstellen eines maschinen- und kundenspezifischen Datensatzes in der Datenzentrale zugeordnet zum Nummerncode, wobei der Datensatz mindestens Daten für einen spezifischen Stempel mit temporären und lokalen Daten umfaßt, und
  • e) Übermitteln des Datensatzes zum Frankierort nach einem Empfang entsprechender Anforderungsdaten oder Eingaben.

    A franking device is programmed for a self-test to determine whether an automatic installation is to be carried out and a customer-specific data record is to be loaded into a non-volatile memory or if an installation which has already been carried out earlier is not to be carried out. The automatic installation procedure has the following steps:
  • a) storing a mirror data record corresponding to the machine data stored in the franking device and assigned a number code in the data center,
  • b) transmission of recorded customer data from a sold franking device to the data center,
  • c) storing the customer data in the data center assigned to the number code,
  • d) providing a machine-specific and customer-specific data record in the data center assigned to the number code, the data record comprising at least data for a specific stamp with temporary and local data, and
  • e) Transmission of the data record to the franking location after receipt of corresponding request data or inputs.
