Description

  • The present invention relates to a display stand according to the pre-characterising clause of claim 1.
  • A known problem in retailing nowadays is that folding and assembling the corrugated cardboard display stands currently encountered for displaying goods, in a shop environment, for example, is both complicated and time consuming. The complexity and the relatively long times taken to prepare the display stands commonly encountered nowadays often lead to irritation among those who have to put these display stands together. Furthermore, the relatively long times taken to put these stands together leads to considerable costs and keeps personnel from other duties. The complexity of the display stands currently encountered also means that these are sometimes assembled incorrectly, so that the display stands will not have the strength that they were designed to have.
  • An object of the present invention is to produce a display stand that eliminates or at least reduces the problems described above.
  • According to one embodiment of the present invention a display stand is produced, which permits quick, easy and correct assembly of the display stand every time in a way which guarantees that the intended strength is obtained, as specified by claim 1.
  • In addition, preferred embodiments have any or some of the characteristics specified in the subordinate claims.
  • The invention will be explained in more detail below with the aid of the figures attached and an example of a preferred embodiment of the display stand according to the present invention.

  • In figure 1 a display stand is denoted by reference number 1. The display stand is intended for displaying goods in a shop environment, for example, and, as will be apparent from the following description, is easily erected and collapsed. The display stand 1 comprises an elongated tubular part 2, a part 3, located in the tubular part and displaceable in a longitudinal direction, and a support element. 4. In a preferred embodiment the tubular part 2, the displaceable part 3 and the support element 4 are made of corrugated cardboard.
  • In one example the elongated, tubular part 2 is made from a cut-out sheet of corrugated cardboard like that shown in figure 2. The sheet is provided with an elongated first score line 6, which together with outer edges of the sheet defines an area corresponding to the back 7 of the tubular part, an elongated, second score line 8, which together with the outer edges of the sheet and the score line 6 defines an area corresponding to a first end 9 of the tubular part, a third score line 10, which together with the outer edges of the sheet and the score line 8 defines an area corresponding to the front side of the tubular part and a fourth score line 12, which together with outer edges of the sheet and the score line 10 defines an area corresponding to a second end 13 of the tubular part 2. An area 14 defined by outer edges of the sheet and the score line 12 forms a surface for connecting the second end 13 to the back 7 in order to produce the tubular part 2 in figure 1 from the cut-out corrugated cardboard sheet in figure 2. In the middle of each end 9, 13 there is a longitudinal score line 15, 16 respectively, the function of which will be described in more detail later.
  • As will be apparent from figures 1 and 2, the display stand 1 in this example has a plurality of shelf levels 5 formed from the front side. In figure 2 the shelf levels 5 are each defined by a cut-out from the front side 11 along double dashed line 21 and a score line 17 joining the ends of the line 21 together. Thus, as can be seen from figure 1, the shelf levels 5 are firmly connected at their front edge to the front side 11 by way of the score line 17. Furthermore the shelf levels at their rear edge are fastened to the displaceable part 3 arranged inside the tubular part 2. In the example in the figures each shelf level 5 has a flap 18 defined by a score line 34, by way of which the shelf is fastened by gluing, for example, to the displaceable part 3, which is connected to the inside of the back 7.
  • The displaceable part 3 can be fastened to the tubular part 2, so that it rests against this in a first position, such that the shelf levels 5 essentially extend at right angles between the front side and the back respectively of the tubular part. In the example shown the part 3 can be fastened by means of notch elements 19 arranged on this part, which for fastening are designed to be brought into engagement around the upper edge of the tubular part. Figure 3 clearly shows an example of how the fastening element 19 of the displaceable part 3 can be formed. In an example not shown there is only one notch element 19. At their ends the shelf levels 5 have support flaps 20, designed in the first fastening position to be folded up around score lines 33 at 90° in relation to the remaining part of the shelf levels 5 in order to support the shelf levels against the ends 9, 13 of the tubular part.
  • As can be seen from figures 4 and 5, the displaceable part 3 is displaceable from its first fastening position to a folded second position, in which the shelf levels essentially lie in the same plane as the front side 11, whilst a displacement is imparted to the front side 11 so that this is situated closer to the back 7 than when it is in the first position. In this folded-up position the ends are folded together around their respective longitudinal score lines 15, 16. In order to produce a fully folded position, in which the front side rests against the back in an essentially flat sheet, the perpendicular distance between the score lines 15, 16 of the ends must naturally be the same, regardless of whether the distance is measured over the front side 11 of the tubular part or its back 7. In addition to greatly facilitating the folding up of the display stand 1 into an essentially flat sheet, the score lines 15. 16, when the display stand is in the erected position, serve to give the ends a very stable shape and prevent these from collapsing.
  • In one embodiment the displaceable part 3, in the first fastening position, extends at least from the bottom edge of the tubular part 2 to its upper edge. In a special embodiment the displaceable part 3 comprises a part, which in the first fastening position extends above the tubular part. That part of the displaceable part, which in the second, folded position extends above the tubular part, has a score line 31, designed in the second position to allow this part to be folded around the score line into a folded transporting position essentially parallel to the front side. This transporting position is shown in figure 7.
  • The support element 4, which is shown folded out in figure 6, is arranged at the back 7 of the tubular part 3 for supporting this part. Adjacent to the support element 4 is an opening 22 through the back 7, through which opening the support element 4 is functionally connected to the displaceable part 3 by means of a part 23 extending through the opening, so that the support element 4 is angularly displaceable between two positions, in which, when the displaceable part is displaced into the first fastening position, the support element is connected to the back at an angle, and when the displaceable part is displaced into the second folded position, the support element is situated essentially parallel to the back. For example, the part 23 extending through the opening is connected to the displaceable part 3 by way of a fixed section 32 of the part 23, which is fastened to the displaceable part by gluing.
  • The support element 4 comprises a part 24 fixed to the back, for example by gluing. The part 24 has an opening 25 corresponding to the opening 22 in the back and is located so that the part 23 extending through the opening 22 also extends through the opening 25. The part 24, fastened at the back, is connected by means of essentially triangular end segments 26, 27 to a support part 28, in which the end segment 27 is connected to the support part 28 in that a fixed part 35 is fastened to the support part 28, for example by gluing. The bottom edge of the support part 28 is functionally connected to the displaceable part 3 by the part 23 extending through the opening. The triangular end segments 26, 27 have score lines 29, 30, which emerging from the apex of the triangular end segments divide the triangular end segments into equal sections. When displacing the displaceable part 3 to the second folded position of the display stand 1, the end segments 26, 27 are folded around the score lines 29, 30 so that the support element 4 collapses together with the tube 2. In the embodiment shown in figure 6 the triangular end segments have a triangular notch, the apex 36 of which is connected to the score line of each end segment respectively, and legs 37, 38 of which are connected to the bottom edge of the support part and the bottom edge of the part fastened at the back respectively.
  • At the bottom, the ends 9, 13 of the tubular part are cut on the bias in the direction from the front side to the back, so that the display stand 1 has an inclined angle, for example 30°, when in the fastening position it is supported against the support element 4.
