Definitions
- the present invention relates to skating machines such as inline skating, skating with traditional roulette or ice skating. It relates in particular to shoes which adapt to these pads, adjustable in length and volume so as to accommodate a variety of foot sizes and morphologies.
- Inline skating is a sporting discipline which is enjoying great success and great popularity with an ever increasing number of practitioners. Among them, many children want to indulge in this practice. Manufacturers offer a reduced number of models of children, for reasons of development, manufacturing and rationalization costs of the offer. It is therefore difficult to find a model that adapts correctly to the size and morphology of each child's foot providing both comfort and envelopment of the foot and good transmission of support. In addition, the child's foot being brought to evolve in size and volume, the skates are quickly made obsolete, generally after only a few months of practice.
- Document US 5,475,936 proposes, for example, an inline skate comprising a hull and a quarter assembled on the hull by guide means in sliding. Such an assembly provides a partial solution insofar as only the reinforcement shell is adjustable in size.
- Such a shell is designed to receive a internal liner whose configuration is not envisaged in document US 5,475,936. he is therefore not provided satisfactory solutions to the problem of comfort and envelopment of the foot in the pad of adjustable length / volume of document US 5,475,936.
- the The shoe described in this document has the disadvantages of being hot, heavy and poorly ventilated because its integral rigid shell structure derived from the field of alpine ski boots.
- Document US 5,794,362 discloses an athletic boot adaptable in size.
- the boot includes a molded construction having a sole base to which a heel portion at the back and a flexible tongue at the front.
- a necklace is articulated on the portion heel.
- the adjustment mechanism is completed by straps in thermoplastic material that surround the instep to adjust its volume.
- Such a boot is essentially consisting of a rigid shell having the same disadvantages as that of the document US 5,794,362 in which an internal boot is inserted.
- the slipper offered is provided with slots in suitable places such as in the heel and in the longitudinal position front to accept variations in size and volume of the hull.
- this adaptation is done at the expense of an adequate wrapping of the foot and at the expense of comfort.
- European patent application no. 878 141 A1 belonging to the applicant relates to to a multi-point shoe which comprises a first part forming a cradle for the heel support extended by a sole and a second part forming a slap more flexible with plantar support.
- the first part and the second part are adjusted according to a determined longitudinal relative position and are connected by means of fixed link.
- Such a solution is interesting but does not solve the problem of adjustment in length of a children's skate shoe, including the padding part surrounding the foot.
- US Patent 5,842,293 also relates to a skate construction of adjustable size.
- the skate includes a shoe in two rigid plastic parts; part of upper provided with side lights and a collar part provided with side buttons intended for cooperate in the side lights.
- the parts are also provided with notched straps having to adjust the width of each part individually as well as the positioning parts relatively to each other.
- Such a construction is quite rudimentary and does not provide not a very precise volume control. Nor is it described how the bootie adapts to the change in volume of the two relatively rigid parts of the shoe. The comfort does not appear to be guaranteed by such a construction.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a solution to the above problems.
- the invention provides a shoe which adapts to a variety of sizes and foot morphologies, ensuring a uniform wrap and the same comfort whatever the length of adjustment adopted.
- the invention relates to a shoe intended for the practice of sports skating, adaptable to a chassis, as defined by claim 1.
- the cuff serves as a reference for positioning the leg; while the covering portion moves during adjustment relative to this reference frame.
- the cuff comprises lateral edges cut out from so as to free the region from the malleoli.
- the malleolus region is identified as a sensitive area that supports thicker trunks. The invention therefore aims to ensure overlapping of the malleoli by the covering portion within an adjustment range determined corresponding to the effective adjustment range, so as to maintain a level of uniform comfort.
- the forefoot covering portion and the rear cuff are assembled by overlapping two thicknesses of stiffness sole higher than the rigidity of the rest of the stem; the length of the covering being modifiable in depending on the desired rod setting.
- Such an assembly is simple and reliable. Because of its rigidity, the covering ensures good hold and support of the plantar support in the area considered.
- the forefoot covering portion and the cuff rear are, moreover, assembled by covering, at least partially, of lateral parts of each of said portions which form between them a delimitation of the volume of the rod flexible.
- the width of the foot can be adjusted by overlapping the lateral parts of the rod. This overlap also ensures good retention of the forefoot portion and headlines. It also ensures a continuous wrapping of the foot without uncovered area could be the cause of a local comfort problem.
- the covering portion forefoot includes a sole portion and an upper portion connected to the forefoot portion sole; the sole portion having a rigid tongue extending the sole portion backwards beyond the upper portion; the tongue being accommodable in overlap, at least partially, in the sole portion of the rear cuff.
- the reinforcing part comprises a first sub-assembly forming a rigid cradle comprising the heel counter; Which one is secured to the rigid sole; and a second, relatively more flexible subset, constituting a slap covering the forefoot and comprising a plantar support; said plantar support being fitted into the cradle and being connected to the latter in a position determined longitudinal adjustable by means of adjustment and connection means removable arranged between the first and the second sub-assembly; the flexible rod being inserted at inside the volume defined by the first and second subsets.
- the inline skate illustrated in FIG. 1 comprises a shoe 1 and a running gear 2 on which the shoe is secured either permanently or still so detachable by suitable connecting means (not shown).
- the running gear therefore comprises a chassis 20, generally of U-shaped section. overturned and a series of wheels 21 which are connected between the sides of the chassis by pins transverse 22 aligned in a substantially horizontal series.
- the shoe is distinguished by a flexible and foldable rod part 3 and a reinforcing part 4.
- the function of the rod is essential to promote the envelopment and the comfort of the foot as well as the lower leg of the user. It is carried out by assembling layers of materials for the most part breathable, light and tear resistant.
- the inside of the rod has padding.
- the flexible rod 3 comprises two parts which join together in view of satisfying the adaptation of the stem to the size and morphology of a variety of feet.
- One of the parts is designed to be the covering portion 30 of the forefoot.
- the other part 31 consists of a rising cuff independent of the portion of recovery 30.
- the forefoot covering portion 30 comprises a sole portion 32 and a upper portion 33 which is connected to the sole portion 32 by connecting means such as a seam, for example.
- Upper portion extends forward to cover the toes and back to about the region of the malleoli.
- the covering portion is provided with a rear notch 34.
- the notch 34 is delimited by the lateral edges 35 of the vamp and through the rear edge 36 of the sole.
- the indentation forms a non-area covered with the covering portion corresponding substantially to the heel region of the foot.
- the upper edges 37 of the upper portion form the upper limit of the covering portion.
- the covering portion is a relatively low portion of stem, the limit of which is below the region of the malleolus.
- the cuff 31 forms the complementary part covering the rear notch 34 of the foot covering portion.
- the cuff includes a wrapping part of the heel 38 extending upwards by a part of the lower leg wrap 39.
- the cuff also includes a heel support sole 56.
- the cuff has edges lateral 39a and a truncated sole edge. In a first example, the lateral edges 39a gradually flare upwards, ensuring good wrapping of the calf. Compared with the upper edges 37 of the covering portion, the cuff extends the rod upwards beyond these edges.
- the reinforcing part 4 comprises, for its part, a first sub-assembly or rigid cradle comprising a rigid external sole 40 which constitutes the rigid base on which the frame 20 of the skate is connected, which extends upwards in the rear region by a heel counter 41 having dimensions and a shape adapted to maintain and protect the heel.
- the chassis can be made in one piece with the sole 40.
- a collar 42 is articulated on the heel counter 41.
- the collar provides lateral support for the ankle and lower leg.
- it includes a rear stop 43 which presses on a complementary bearing surface of the buttress 41 of as a back support for the leg as well as a means of referencing for favor the search for rear balance.
- the collar is preferably articulated along axes transverse articulation 44 located on the side of the collar in the region of the malleoli.
- the collar can be made in one piece with the heel counter 41 and areas of weakening of section can be envisaged for allow the collar to flex relative to the buttress.
- a semi-rigid covering slap 45 is provided at the front of the foot which is assembled to the sub-assembly formed by the rigid sole 40 and the buttress 41.
- the assembly is made of adjustable manner as will be explained later.
- Slap 45 includes a plantar support 46 appearing in dotted lines in FIG. 2 and which rests on the internal surface of the rigid sole 40.
- the slap 45 comprises lateral parts 47 extending from the region in tip of the shoe to the region near the heel with an opening 48 rear in heel so that the slap ends in lateral edges 49 adjacent to the heel counter walls 41.
- the slap 45 is able to partially fit into the heel stiffener 41, by the support plantar 46 and lateral parts 47 which partially overlap with the buttress heel 41 and rigid outsole 40.
- the plantar support 46 is engaged in the cradle being connected by removable adjustment and connection means 50, 51, 52, 53 disposed between the rigid outer sole 40 of the cradle and the plantar support 46.
- the means of adjustment and connection 50, 51 each have a longitudinal light 50a, 51a formed in the plantar support and a screw 50b, 51b which passes through the lumen, from the sole external and of the chassis with which they form common means of connection.
- the means 50, 51 are located substantially in the longitudinal axis of the chassis.
- the slap When adjusting, the slap is able to deform in a transverse direction to adapt to the transverse dimensions of the cradle thanks to zones of deformation or less resistance 54.
- These zones are preferably made in the plantar support 46 of the slap in the zone corresponding to the overlap range with the faces of the buttress heel.
- the zones form deformable lights oriented longitudinally which allow an elastic deformation of the plantar support in the cradle.
- FIGS 4 to 6 show in detail the assembly formed by the flexible padded rod intended to cover the foot and the lower leg in a first variant of the invention.
- the sole portion 32 of the covering portion 30 comprises a rigid tongue 55 which extends the sole portion backwards beyond the upper portion 33.
- the tongue can be accommodated in overlap in the sole portion 56 of the rear cuff.
- the tongue rests inside the sole portion 56 of the cuff. so that the edge 56a of the cuff passes under the sole portion 32 of the portion of forefoot overlap.
- the tongue is made of a relatively rigid material by relative to the rest of the rod to ensure a certain resistance in bending and torsion of assembly.
- the sole portion is also preferably made of material relatively rigid compared to the rest of the rod.
- the lateral edges 39a externally cover the edges 35 of the upper.
- the recovery is done by adjusting the portion of forefoot overlap 30 inside the cuff 31.
- FIG. 6 shows, by way of for example, an enlarged adjustment position A and a narrower position B.
- the rod is intended to be housed in the reinforcement part. More specifically, the flexible covering portion 30 of the rod takes position inside the space formed by the adjustable assembly of the outer sole 40 of the cradle and of the independent slap 45. even the flexible rear cuff takes position in the volume reserved by the heel counter 41 and the collar 42. It is easily understood that the fine adjustment of the shoe is made possible thanks to the overlapping of the adjustments, in length and in volume, both of the part external reinforcement and both the internal liner.
- the structure of the covering portion may include in its upper portion 33, two flaps 33a, 33b delimiting a central opening 57 favoring the introduction of the foot.
- Return means 58 are fixed on the flaps near the edges of the opening 57 for the passage of a lacing means (not shown).
- the return means 58 can cooperate in alternative cross tightening of the lacing means with return means 59 connected to the slap of the reinforcement part ( Figure 3).
- Such a lacing device is described in the European patent application no. 784 944 A1.
- An elastic band 60 is also adjusted to the instep level to favor the introduction of the covering portion 30 into the cuff 31 acting by tightening the edges of the opening 57.
- Figures 7 and 8 show a different embodiment of the invention in which the flexible rod 3 is adjusted in length by a cuff 31, the lateral edges 39a are introduced inside the forefoot covering portion 30; while the edge 56a of the sole of the cuff is kept outside of the covering portion 30; the sole portion thus forming the heel external support in the cradle.
- the forefoot overlap portion 30 is provided with an open edge portion 61 located on each side between the portion of sole 32 and upper portion 33.
- the edges of the cuff can be introduced through open portions 61 thus improving the overlap strength of the two parts rod 30, 31 therebetween.
- Figures 9 and 10 show another embodiment of the invention in which the covering portion 30 of the upper forms the external part of the shoe in the area of the forefoot in the absence of a plastic slap. Minimal toe strengthening is assured simply by a semi-rigid plastic tip 62 directly connected to the portion of overlap 30 by sewing. The advantage of such a shoe structure is that it is more light and more breathable than the structure previously described.
- the rod must be connected to the reinforcement part 4 by connecting means intended to keep the rod in place during stresses of the foot during practice. These means must be detachable to allow adjustment in rod length. It is thus conceivable that the forefoot covering portion 30 is detachably and adjustable connected directly to the outer sole 40; ways being of the type of those described in FIG. 3. It is therefore understandable that the length adjustment and foot volume can be achieved by relative displacement of the covering portion forefoot 30 and cuff 31, serving as a reference in the shoe, and therefore with respect to the rigid sole 40, between a position A and a position B as illustrated in Figure 10.
- the elements of the flexible rod that is to say, the forefoot covering portion 30 and its cuff 31 are assembled by specific detachable means such as Velcro type hook-and-loop means, for example, or assemblies of straps and buckles, or even means of clipping or clipping.
- the invention essentially resides in the arrangement of the flexible upper or liner and partially padded at least, formed in a first part covering the front of the foot which is movable relative to a second part forming a cuff which constitutes, as for it, the reference frame for positioning the rod relative to the reinforcement structure of the shoe.
- the invention also more specifically resides in the combination of a rod adjustable configuration, inserted in a reinforcement part, itself adjustable.
