Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electrical connection cable shielded, of the type comprising a bundle of conductive wires surrounded by a shielding casing and provided, at one end, with a connector which comprises a body carrying connections to which the conductive wires are connected and a rear connector electrically connected to the shielding casing, which rear connection is crossed by the bundle of conductive wires and is movable along the beam, between a position coupled to the body of the connector, and a decoupled position from the connector body, in which the rear connector is separated from the body of the connector.
- Such shielded connection cables are used in particular in the aeronautical industry to convey information sheltered from disruptions electromagnetic from the ambient environment.
- the shielding envelope is commonly formed from a metallic braid tubular surrounding the wire harness. At its end, the metal braid is mechanically and electrically connected to the rear connector, for example by means of a strapping.
- the shielding braid usually has a coefficient of high recovery. Also, the braid is very difficult to deform, from so that the back fitting slides along the wire harness is frequently accompanied by irreversible deformations of the braid which degrade its electromagnetic protection characteristics.
- the covering coefficient of the braid is reduced, which allows an axial deformation thereof, it should be that its geometric structure is not modified during the deformations it undergoes. Indeed, its structure adapted geometry guarantees the conservation of protective properties electromagnetic. In practice, we note that the geometric structure is generally altered during deformation of the braid, which reduces its efficiency.
- the object of the invention is to provide a shielded connection cable comprising a connector whose rear connection can be easily moved to allow access to the interior of the connector, without causing degradation electromagnetic protection characteristics of the enclosure shielding the wire harness.
- the invention relates to a shielded connection cable, the aforementioned type, characterized in that the shielding envelope comprises a electromagnetic protective shielding sheath with specified immunity extending around the bundle of conductive wires, which sheath extends inside the rear connector when the latter is in the coupled position, the rear connector being mounted movable around the shielding sheath, and in that the armor jacket has a retractable cuff that surrounds said shield sheath over part of its length, and is connected electrically, at one end, to the rear connector and, at its other end, to the shielding sheath in a region external to the rear connection.
- FIG. 1 and 2 is shown the same end section a shielded connection cable 10.
- This comprises a bundle 12 of wires conductors, an electrical connector 14 and a shielding jacket 16 surrounding, from the connector 14, the bundle 12 over its entire length.
- the bundle 12 of conductive wires comprises a set of metallic wires 18 individually isolated and held together by tape insulator 20.
- the connector 14 comprises a connector body 22 carrying a set of connection pins 24 to which the ends are connected conductive wires 18. It further comprises a rear connection 26 engaged around the bundle 12 of conductive wires.
- the rear connector 26 is intended to be mechanically coupled to the connector body 22. It is mounted slidingly movable along the harness 12 between a position coupled to the connector body 22, shown in Figure 1, where it protects the end of the bundle of conductive wires connected to pins 24, and a decoupled position, shown in FIG. 2, where the rear connector 26 is away from the connector body 22, thus freeing access to the ends of the conductive wires.
- the fitting rear 26 is made of a material suitable for electromagnetic protection wires crossing it.
- the shielding envelope 16 comprises a tubular electromagnetic shielding sheath 28 surrounding the tape 20. It consists of a metal braid whose transfer impedance is less than 400m ⁇ .m -1 at 30 MHz. It has a high recovery coefficient, advantageously greater than 0.7.
- the shielding sheath 28 is adapted for electromagnetic protection of the bundle 12 of conductive wires. It is therefore very little deformable axially.
- the shielding sheath 28 has a main section 28A extending over the current part of the bundle 12 of conducting wires and a end section 28B extending inside the rear connector 26 when the latter is in position coupled to the body 22, as shown in Figure 1.
- the main section 28A and the end section 28B of the sheath shielding are connected to each other electrically and mechanically in a first overlapping region 30.
- this region having a length 3 to 5 cm the end section 28A of the bundle of conductive wires is surrounded and covered by the main section 28A.
- the bond is produced by mechanical clamping of the section 28A around the end of the section 28B. This tightening is obtained for example during the braiding of the section 28A directly around the section 28B.
- the shielding envelope 16 includes a retractable cuff. 32 which surrounds the shielding sheath 28 over part of its length. It is electrically connected at one end to the rear connector 26 and, at its other end, to the shielding sheath 28, outside the fitting rear 26.
- the retractable sleeve 32 is engaged at its end of connection to the rear connection 26, around a cylindrical section 34 of it. The end of the retractable cuff 32 is held there by a metallic band 36.
- the retractable cuff 32 is enclosed in a second overlapping region 37, between the main section 28A of the shielding sheath and its end section 28B. She is kept there by mechanical tightening of the main section 28A around the end of the cuff 32 and end section 28B.
- the main section 28A is provided, at its end, with a re-entrant hem 38.
- the braiding angle is greater than that of the current part of the main section 28A in order to increase the tightening force ensuring the retention of the retractable cuff 32.
- the braiding angle is greater than 45 °.
- a metal band can also be added to the second overlapping region 37 to improve the mechanical connection.
- the connections of the retractable sleeve 32 to the rear connector 26 and to the sheath 28 provides an electrical connection of the rear connector 26 and the sheath shield 28.
- the retractable sleeve 32 is formed of a tubular metallic braid with reduced covering coefficient allowing its axial compression without permanent deformation.
- the recovery coefficient is advantageously between 0.3 and 0.7 and is preferably equal to about 0.5.
- the length of the cuff 32 is chosen by function of the covering coefficient to allow axial travel of the rear connection between 3 and 12 cm, and preferably substantially equal to 8 cm.
- the electromagnetic protection of the wire harness is kept intact, the shielding sheath 28 being continuous outside the connector and extending partially inside of it to inside the interior fitting 26.
- the electromagnetic performance specified for the cable is therefore provided by main section 28A to the first overlap region 30 then is relayed at low frequencies (frequencies below around 300 kHz) via conductive sleeve 32 and at high frequencies (frequencies above 300 kHz) via the end section 28B having electromagnetic performance identical to that of the section main 28A.
- the conductive sleeve 32 can then be handled without no degradation of specified electromagnetic performance low and high frequencies does not appear, even if mechanical deformation Cuff prohibition occurs.
