That is, with bodies 15 and 16 positioned as described above, both channels 10 and 11 are closed.
  • control unit 9 commands actuating device 17 to move body 16 from said second position to said first position, in which both bodies 15, 16 leave channel 11 open ( Figure 2b) and close channel 10, thus enabling gum 4 to flow along channel 11 to nozzle 2.
  • Supply of gum 4 to nozzle 2 is cut off, not by moving body 16 back to its original position cutting off channel 11, but by moving body 15 from its original position cutting off channel 10, i.e. from the first position to the second position cutting off channel 11.
  • Supply of gum 4 to nozzle 2 is therefore cut off by body 16 being maintained ( Figure 2c) in the first position cutting off channel 10.
