Abstract

The object of the present invention is a follow-up arrangement comprising recording means as well as base means annexed thereto and having target fields (10) adapted for separate elements (13b, 13c). Said separate elements (13b, 13c) are included in a basic set of possible elements describing an event which is the object of the follow-up procedure. Said basic set constitutes a part which is pre-integrated in the arrangement, from which part each element (13b, 13c) can be chosen and annexed to an appropriate target field (10) according to external discriminative stimuli triggered by an event which is followed up. A method for the realization of a follow-up arrangement for a series of events is also an object of the present invention, wherein base means which generally describe an event are formed prior to the realization of a series of such events, as well as a basic group of elements (13b, 13c) describing possible separate features of said event. A further object of the invention is the use of folder means, intermediate means arranged therewithin as well as separate elements (13b, 13c) detachable from loose leafs in accordance with the principles presented above.

Description

A follow-up arrangement and a method for the realization thereof
The object of the invention is a follow-up arrangement consisting of recording means and of thereto annexed base means having location i.e. target fields adapted for separate elements. A realization method of the follow-up arrangement for a series of events is also an object of the invention. The invention is particularly suited as an arrangement for interactive follow-up of sports events and for the like hobbies, as a part of teaching methods and for other such purposes in which persons are activated to follow certain events and to register them graphically. The invention is thus also a suitable general means for recording the course of events .
Traditional follow-up arrangements are prior known, in which a follow-up procedure takes place by noting down certain events and series of events. Traditional diaries, different follow-up charts related to sports competitions etc. may be given as examples of these. A usual drawback related to known systems is that other than written information cannot be attached to them in an appropriate manner and even this requires a relatively high amount of independent activity from the perpetrator of the follow-up procedure.
On the other hand, filing systems are also known for the purpose of storing certain collector's items into certain order and/or to supply them with certain notations. As an example of such can be mentioned a folder for collecting visiting cards presented in GB patent No. 2 287 431, said folder having an adhesive surface on each side for a visiting card to be placed thereupon, and a writing area, connected to said adhesive surface, on which it is possible to take personal notes .
One object of this invention is to provide such a follow-up arrangement which offers, for example to a person following sports events, a practical way to compile actively and personally a real time interactive recording of the event and the course thereof, said recording having a graphical form, especially in a general sense. Within the scope of the invention this is possible also by means of media such as the radio or the television, in which case a person following the event need not be present in person at the site of the events . Another object of the invention is to provide an arrangement from which each person is able to cumulatively compile himself in real time a handsome data document within his own discipline or the object of his interest.
According to the invention this is implemented as presented in the appended claims. Thus, the inventive arrangement is characterized in that said separate elements are included in a basic set of possible elements describing an event being the object of the follow-up procedure, said basic set constituting a previously integrated portion of the arrangement, from which portion each element can be chosen and attached to an appropriate target field according to selective stimuli triggered by the event which is followed. Respectively, the inventive method is characterized in that said base means, which are to be generally descriptive of events to be followed, as well as a basic set of elements describing possible separate features of said events, are formed before said series of events take place, from which basic set certain individual elements are fit to be chosen, according to external stimuli triggered by said series of events, and to be attached to appropriate ones of said target fields.
In this manner separate pieces or corresponding elements attachable or in another manner connectable to said target fields located especially in said base means form, as such, an integrated part of the follow-up arrangement, where the following-up process comprises the step of arranging pieces or the like elements which are chosen according to external stimuli into target fields which are correspondingly chosen according to external stimuli. In this context a piece or an element should be understood widely so that is considered to mean, in addition to actual three- and two-dimensional pieces, also, e.g. a certain definable file in an electronic or a corresponding means .
The invention will now be presented, in an exemplary manner only, with reference to the annexed drawings, wherein:
Figures 1 a...g represent a recording means in the form of a folder adapted for ice-hockey championships, in which case loose leaves arranged for the follow-up of the progress and the results of the competition are shown in the figure,
Figures 2 a...k, respectively, show a recording means in the form of a folder adapted for car races,
Figure 3 shows, in an exemplary manner only, a base means of a folder presented in Figure 2k, i.e. the one side of an interleaf describing the general course of the competition,
Figure 4 shows the opposite side of said interleaf according to Figure 4,
Figure 5 shows an alternative base means adapted for the follow-up of a cycle race,
Figure 6 in a corresponding manner shows the opposite side of an interleaf in accordance with to Figure 5, and
Figure 7 shows a compiled recording means in the form of a folder viewed from one end. In the embodiment according to Figure 1 the recording means comprise a ring or the like folder means 1 known per se and disclosed in Figure la, said means having covers 2, a spine portion 3 and a fixing mechanism 4 for loose leaves (which can be seen in Figure 6) . The outer surface of said covers and said spine are suitably covered with a figure 5 describing the event to be followed, for example an ice-hockey world championship series.
Preferably the arrangement comprises a general list of the events 6 (Figure lb) of the games, said list being arranged within said folder 1, as well as possibly lists of events 7 (Figure Id) of the subdivisions of the event, which together facilitate the follow-up of the event for example on television. Suitably, the arrangement further comprises a series of interleafs 8 (Figure lc) , known per se, such as for separating the different parts of the arrangement from each other within said folder 1. General information concerning the event or the events, such as names of the players of the teams etc., are preferably been arranged in said lists of events 6, 7 and/or on said interleafs 8, said information being known, as such, in advance, but for its part facilitating the follow-up of the event. The arrangement may also be accompanied with statistics regarding previous accomplishments etc. of the different teams and their members, which information is available for the interactive real time follow-up of the event according to the invention. This information is suitably compiled on one or more separate leaves 9 (Figure le) . All the loose leaves of the arrangement preferably have a perforation 15 with which the loose leaves are fixed to said fixing mechanism 4 of the covers.
According to the invention the arrangement includes yet one or more base means portions provided with target fields or attachment areas 10, said base means portions being shown in Figure 1 within the event pages i.e. in the embodiment disclosed within game pages 11 (Figure lg) . There may be one or more of such game pages 11, and general information concerning the event or corresponding figures are advantageously preprinted thereupon, some examples of which being shown in Figures 3...5. Said attachment areas 10 are essentially empty areas which may have a pre-printed text 12, an illustration or the like. The surface structure of said attachment areas 10 is advantageously slightly roughened, matt surfaced or arranged in some other manner so that it is possible for example to write on it, in context with said text 12, actual information or information describing in some other manner the course of the events, and especially such that it can be fitted with separate especially planar graphical elements 13 which, in the embodiment disclosed, according to a choice triggered by the course of events, are detached from a basic set 14 comprising several possible ones 13a of such elements.
In the case represented by Figure 1 said graphical planar elements 13 are suitably separate images or the like provided with adhesive back sides, said images being arranged on one or several separate leaves 14 (Figure If) from which they are detached and attached to the respective proper attachment area 10a regarding the course of events. In the case of the ice- hockey game represented in Figure 1 said possible elements 13 suitably comprise several separately detachable images of the players participating in the game, which images advantageously have been arranged by team at said loose leaves 14 so that there are so many identical images of each player or, respectively, of the team members or other objects related to the follow-up, that their number with some certainty exceeds the predictable need of images .
As the game proceeds the image 13a of a certain player of the team, such as respectively a scorer, a player receiving a penalty or having participated visibly in one way or another in the event of the game, a referee or a coach, is now selected, detached and attached to the chronologically next empty attachment area 10a, at which occasion suitably the individual information concerning the event, such as for example serving a goal, the time and such, is further supplemented with a pen in the text portion. In this manner a personal information data document is compiled along with the progress of the competition, in which document different adhesive elements 13, 13a, attached to appropriate fields 10, 10a generally following the competition in logical order, as a graphical presentation describe the course of the competition and the personal accomplishments achieved therein.
A corresponding arrangement structure is described in Figure 2 adapted to a car race. Again, the Figure shows a folder 1 (Figure 2a) , an events schedule 6 and interleafs 8 (Figures 2b, 2c, 2e and 2g) . In this example the pages 9 representing the teams have been replaced with information and/or statistics pages 9, 9a (Figures 2d and 2f) where suitable advance information concerning the racing teams and, respectively, the drivers is presented. These pages suitably comprise one or more image fields 16, 16a having a printed figure, for instance the colouring of a car or a helmet, and/or an attachment area 10b, onto which an appropriate adhesive element 13b can be attached. The image or corresponding elements used during the follow-up procedure have been compiled in a sufficiently large number, suitably in several basic set leaves 14a, 14b, 14c (Figures 2h...2j), from which single elements 13b, 13c, 13d can be detached and attached.
In Figure 2 Figure 2k in general discloses an actual base means comprising attachment areas 10, i.e. a follow-up page functioning as a competition and statistics page 11. Said competition and statistic pages 11 which are included in the arrangement, including said target fields or attachment areas 10 for said elements 13, are suitably larger than the pages of the recording means such as the folder 1 or the like, in which case they suitably are folded so that each current page when folded out can easily be found and supplemented.
Figure 3 shows, only in an exemplary manner, how a follow-up page 11 of an event, in the described case e.g. of a car race, can be constructed, on one hand with general information 17 describing the event, for example, and with a figure 18 describing the race track, and, on the other hand with attachment areas 13 describing e.g. the positions of the drivers and the racing teams. From Figure 3 it is also apparent that different elements can be combined as such, for instance so that to an element 13b attached to the attachment area 10 and describing a racing team further is separately attached e.g. a picture 13c of a driver and the colouring scheme 13d of his helmet .
Figure 4 discloses, correspondingly in an exemplary manner, the opposite side of the follow-up page 11 presented in Figure 3 after the end of the event, where, in correspondence with the progress of the race, adhesive images 13c of the drivers and, correspondingly, images 13b of the cars of the different car manufacturers, have been detached from the basic set leaf 14 and attached to the page's appropriate attachment areas at locations describing their respective placing. Leaf 11 further contains information and statistics areas 12a to be completed in handwriting.
Figures 5 and 6 disclose, in a corresponding manner, an example of a follow-up page 11 used in a cycle race, on which the general course of the race track 18 is presented on a map base, and the altitude cross section view 18a thereof being presented as a separate image. Said Figures further disclose, only in an exemplary manner, how the elements 13 representing racing teams and/or competitors have been attached, suitably with the aid of an adhesive back side, on the follow-up page. Finally, Figure 7 as an end view discloses a recording means in the form of a folder. Here the different functional parts or leaves 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 15 of the arrangement are arranged in conventional folder means 1. When compiling the follow-up arrangement it must here be taken into account, among other things, that a number of loose pieces, i.e. adhesive stickers in the first place, will become attached during the follow-up procedure to the separate leaves, through the influence of which the thickness of the whole pile of leaves will grow in use.
Above especially some examples related to sports performances have been presented, but it is evident that the inventive arrangement can also be utilized for other kinds of follow- up. Thus, one field of application is the field observation books or the like of natural scientists. In this case the follow-up leaf 11 serving as base means advantageously comprises e.g. a map base, said graphical elements 13 comprising pictures of plants, birds or other animals. In this case an annotation field 12 is advantageously arranged also on said elements themselves 13 for manual notations. Correspondingly, the inventive embodiment may be adapted, even at a larger scale, to teaching, such as teaching history, natural sciences or languages, where the followed event at the same time constitutes a part of the training event . In this case the chosen elements may be, for instance, certain words or groups of words, certain chemical compounds, subjects describing certain historical events or the like information, or any other such information which can be individualized out of a group consisting of several corresponding subjects and be transferred into its appropriate place in the target fields of the base formed as a result of the follow-up process.
Above an inventive arrangement based on generally planar sheet material such as paper, cardboard or the like has been dis- cussed. However, according to one embodiment of the invention said recording means 1 and/or said base means 11 thereof are electronic or the like means for recording information, to which an element 13 in electronic or the like form is recorded according to a choice triggered by the series of events which are followed. In this case, too, each element 13 is selected from a basic set formed by the possible elements, said basic set thus being recorded in a suitable manner in an electronic or corresponding means. Thus, each separate element 13 can be included in a finished file 14 comprising images or other graphical presentations, so that an appropriate element 13 in the inventive manner according to the choice following the course of events and triggered by the same is recorded in a field 10 reserved for this purpose in a basic file 11. According to what has been presented above this embodiment may also include fields 12 to be filled in manually in the basic file and/or in the files forming separate elements 13.
Above some of the different embodiments of the present invention have been presented, but it will be clear to a person skilled in the art that the invention can be implemented in many other ways, too, within the scope of the appended claims.
