Abstract

Ironing equipment including a support hinged to the ironing board (19) having, at the other end, a hook holding the iron (11) so as to infer it rotatory and translatory movements. Such support includes a device that allows the lifting of the iron from the board.

Description

  • The present invention is shown in perspective in picture 1, showing the support (15) for the iron (10), having either two arms working as a compass (16) or just one arm in the shape of an inverted L , as shown in picture 2. Such support has resilient tension rods facilitating the necessary movements while ironing and reducing the efforts thanks to the fact that one of the two arms (19) is hinged on a rotating support and the other (12) is connected to the iron.
  • The advantages of this ironing equipment are:
  • Figure 00010001
it is particularly useful for the elderly and for people with spine problems, because it allows them to sit down while ironing and to have the iron in front of them at a level that prevents them from leaning over the ironing board and thus getting the vapour straight into their face, which is particularly annoying in summer.
  • Both the electric and the vapour cables are held in suspension by the support and do not therefore get in your way during ironing nor do they get dirty.
  • Detailed description of the invention as per enclosed pictures:
  • In picture 1 you can note that the iron (10) has a support (15), having two arms working as a compass [or just one arm in the shape of an inverted L, as shown in picture 2 (21)] and having resilient tension rods (12-18) made in such a way as to reduce to the minimum the effort of lifting the iron.
  • The articulated joint (19) of the main arm (17) [or of the inverted L arm (21)] is hinged in a clamp (20), which is secured to the ironing board (PST).
  • From picture 4, it is possible to have a clear view of the clamp, made of a hammer nut (41) and of a screw (42) , that make it adjustable at one's liking.
  • At the top of the main arm (17) there is the joint (16) for the second arm (14) , on the other end of which there is a resilient tension rod (12), combined with a hook (11) connected to the iron handle with a release and holding the iron in suspension over the ironing board. Inside the second arm (14) ,or inside the shorter arm of the inverted L (21, picture 2), there is a slide bar (13) controlled by a compression spring (31), as clearly shown in picture 3.
  • Altogether, the system of the various resilient tension rods, together with the hook (already existing on the market) and provided with an automatic release for plugging it into and out any iron, make the act of continuously lifting the iron effortless.

Claims (6)

  1. Ironing equipment including a support hinged to the ironing board (PST) having, at the other end, a hook holding the iron so as to infer it rotatory and translatory movements. Such support includes a device that allows the lifting of the iron from the board.
  2. The ironing equipment in claim 1 can also be assembled to the ironing board in an area prepared in advance.
  3. Ironing equipment as per claim 1, where the support is made of two arms combined together as a compass ( or of just one arm in the shape of an inverted L) by an articulation, having one of the free ends hinged to the ironing board and the other one holding the iron, with a first resilient tension rod working between the hinge and the articulation and a second one between the end of the second arm (or between the shorter end of the inverted-L arm) and the iron.
  4. Ironing equipment as per claim 3, where such resilient tension rods are formed of springs.
  5. Ironing equipment as per claim 3 , where such resilient tension rods are formed of a gas fed unit 'cylinder-piston'; or tension rods formed of elastomers .
  6. Ironing equipment as per claim 1, where the electric wires needed for the feeding of power to the iron and the piping system for the feeding of the steam run along such support.
