Description

The invention relates to a variable seat. It relates to in particular a seat for traffic systems with a rear tiltable seat and a tiltable backrest surface, a non-variable base, an abutment for the Feet and a device for adjusting the seat (see Example US-A-4,291,916).

  • Seats are required to be ergonomic, comfortable, economical to manufacture and safe. Attempts are being made to meet these requirements by providing the base, seat, backrest, footrest and devices for adjusting these elements in the most varied of forms or by omitting these elements. Since a) there is a complex network of relationships between the elements, b) the requirements among themselves and c) the elements and requirements, it is difficult to optimize the fulfillment of the requirements. As a result, the user is often offered seats that are in great need of improvement with regard to their individual needs. This applies in particular to situations in which it is not possible to take breaks and in which several users with different requirements and needs use the same seat with different tasks. There is something to complain about here
  • a) that it is difficult to perform tasks such as writing, reading, eating or sleeping,
  • b) that one feels uncomfortable here, which is due to excessive stress on the skin, circulatory disorders, unphysiological shape of the spine, insufficient or insufficient coupling with the neighbor etc.,
  • c) that the shortcomings a) and b) can be reduced by adjustable seats with many degrees of freedom, but that this results in high construction costs, susceptibility to malfunctions and problems with operation,
  • d) that seats with many degrees of freedom often have safety-related deficiencies, which is particularly critical for seats in traffic systems such as aircraft.
The invention is concerned with the task of seats under the optimize the criteria mentioned, with the focus on Application lies in transportation. The comfort is in the Foreground as the cramped conditions only a few breaks or only allow changes to the seating position. The comfort can be significantly increased, especially when resting, that the seat is tilted back. This will avoided that the body with an inclined backrest strives to slide forward / down, which is only due to large Friction between both the seat and clothing as well can also be avoided between clothing and skin. This friction is e.g. B. not given on smooth seats, such as B. those made of wood or not specifically equipped leather. If there is friction with the seat, so leads to friction between clothes and skin Shear stress on the skin, which is one of the main reasons can be seen for low seating comfort. In contrast, increases Seat forward to compensate for the forward pressing hull mass and the pushing back mass of the Thigh and part of the mass of the lower leg and Partial foot so that the friction can be applied Reactive power significantly reduced.

They are constructions with a sloping seat known in which the seat either around an axis in the front part of the seat is tilted down (DE 4222222, DE 3638231) or slides on an abutment (DE 3822877). It is common to both constructions that the Can only change the angle of inclination of the seat by a few degrees and that the front edge of the seat surface after tilting moved up and so the pressure against the thighs in uncomfortably increased.

The object of the invention is therefore these two disadvantages to avoid, i.e. on the one hand the seat by one tilt relatively large angle and on the other hand here the distance between the front edge of the seat and not to enlarge the abutment for the feet to tilt to maintain seating comfort.

This novel task is done in two alternative ways solved. In the solution acc. Claim 1 is the seat with the base frame around a horizontal axis in the rear area of the seat rotatably connected so that the seat can be tilted backwards about this axis. Because of the Increase the distance between the edge of the seat and the floor is additionally a footrest as an abutment for the feet arranged so that the feet are on the footrest can be parked and acc. the task of the invention the distance between the edge of the seat and the Abutment can be kept constant.

In the solution acc. Claim 2 is the seat by a front virtual swivel joint on the front edge of the seat tiltable, so that the front edge lowers when tipping. There the abutment for the foot through the immovable floor or a footrest is formed, is thus the invention Task solved, the distance between the edge of the seat and not to enlarge the abutment.

If the general features mentioned in claims 1 and 2 are specified by the embodiments mentioned in the subclaims, the quality features improve either generally or at least in certain applications. Here are criteria
    • Ergonomics in the sense of universal usability, since the passenger uses the seat for a long time and has the desire to write, read, eat and sleep
    • Safety as the seats have to pass tough mechanical and fire protection tests before approval
    • Economy in the sense of fault safety, low maintenance and the value for money of a hi-tech product in medium series sizes.

These solutions acc. give way to the main and sub-claims partly considerably from the known state of the art, some of them are known from other applications but in connection with the solution of the invention Task contradictory and counterproductive. So it appears below the aspect of comfort not very useful, according to Claim 1 tilt the seat around the rear edge or acc. Claim 7 the seat more than 55 cm above the floor to arrange, since it has long been known that among these Sitting conditions do not adequately support the weight of the legs the ground can be removed, so that a high skin pressure the front edge of the seat occurs, leading to circulatory disorders and causes nervous irritation. Likewise it does not appear to be very useful, according to Claim 20 enable comfortable sitting with a tension cloth want, because of military transporters and the simplest cars low comfort of this technique is known. The following can but it is shown that with these and others after the little general experience to date appearing features can be built up the seats meet the above quality criteria to a high degree, if the total of the features is designed appropriately. Therefor are given in the following examples.

The claims allow the formation of seats, their Seat can be folded up, so that the passengers in particular when boarding the plane to stow your hand luggage can kick up their seat and no more rely on stowing from the aisle and thus block the aisle for all other passengers. With a solution acc. Claim 1 is the seat acc. the Main claim can be folded up by the required large angle. at Airplane seating is an additional requirement that the front The crossbar of the seat does not give freedom of movement.

Passenger reduced, for this are in claims 5, 6 and 7 solutions given. With an arrangement acc. Claim 2 can the seat can also be folded up around the rear edge if the seat acc. Claim 8 rotated around the guide element can be, with the supports standing on the floor be lifted up. Resetting the supports to the floor will be easier if according to Claim 8 the lower end of the Support by hinges with the guide device is connected so that the supports when folding down the Seat returned to its original position become.

If one forms in the solution acc. Claim 1 the base such that the clear height under the frame as possible becomes high, so does the desire of the passengers for a big one Storage space under the front seat met. This will additionally enlarged if the base frame acc. Claim 4 up to 7 is higher than the standard of approx. 45 cm Corresponds to leading edge height. It is also advantageous here that even very tall passengers - and that's because the acceleration that has been observed for decades increasing group - can sit with normal comfort. The other passengers and children will be invented standard footpeg offered.

In the solution acc. Claim 2 is obtained with a suitable one Geometry of mechanics acc. Claim 9 from biomechanical Ideal view that when tilting the seat by this Knee joint of the seated person rotates so that the pressure conditions on Thighs are not affected by the tilt.

Forming the guide device so that the Seat can be folded against the backrest surface, which e.g. through a sufficient extension of the guide downwards is reached, the seat can be on one level fold up and stow away to save space.

According to a development of the invention, the seats can be designed so that the Seat can be tilted backwards by 15 ° and more. If you connect the seat and backrest according to claim 14 (first alternative) firmly together, so the construction and the Operating procedure. The disadvantage is that the backrest does not incline more can as the seat, is the passenger seat Tourist class should be underestimated, because here the The angle of the backrest is very limited due to space constraints. On the other hand, you connect the seat and backrest according to the claim 14 (second alternative) rotatable with each other, so the hip angle be enlarged, which improves seating comfort.

Forming the backrest according to claims 15 and 16 as Construction with spars and separately tiltable backrest surface and one forms the spars according to claim 16 so that they too can be tilted forward, so the seat depth can be high Dimensions can be varied. This is particularly true in the international Traffic necessary for even small Asian people To give children the opportunity to use the pelvis against the Support the backrest surface. In combination with a wide range So the footrest can be adjusted in a range wide range of anthropometric dimensions of passengers be adjusted. You also rank at the bottom Part of the spars between these a plate prevents a) the rear passenger from sloping Backrest objects on the now free rear part of the Turns off the seat and b) that he knees through the Presses the tension cloth on the back of the front passenger.

Forming the padding according to claims 17 to 19 in different hardness, so the biomechanical Requirements are better met than with the conventional use of uniform hardness. In particular the seat can be designed in medium hardness to the Buttock humps sufficient, but not to the hard To sink abutment. The padding in the pelvis can be trained hard to tip the pelvis before tipping to keep behind and so an unphysiological burden on the Avoid intervertebral discs of the lower lumbar spine. The Padding in the lumbar area can have a medium hardness, to deal with the different forms of lordosis of the Lumbar spine to be able to adjust while the upper Fuselage area can be softly padded for comfort reasons.

If the upholstery according to claim 20 is designed as a tension cloth with an anisotropic coefficient of elasticity, then the requirements according to claims 17 to 19 can also be met and thus enable a spinal healthy and comfortable sitting. The advantages compared to foam padding are as follows:
    • Better transport of heat and moisture by eliminating the foam barrier layer
    • Low fire risk by replacing the thick, often flammable foam layer with a thin, non-flammable cloth
    • Weight and possibly cost savings
    • Lower volumes, which is important when the seats are designed as folding seats.

It should be noted here that the sheet is perpendicular to Body longitudinal axis is stretched and not like one Beach chair in the longitudinal axis of the body, since it is vertical Tension the comfort reducing couplings through the Hammock effect only affect laterally, so that seat and backrest lengthways for comfort train the required profiles and different pressure zones can.

If you connect this footrest according to claims 21 to 27 one or two lockable lever systems with swivel joints, so the footrest can be used at almost any point in the footwell Blocking the feet block, so that for almost every physique the ideal foot position can be taken. One fastens the lever system of the footrest according to claim 24 on the Seat, so the catch moves when the Seat with and the selected footrest setting remains receive. If you attach the lever system of the footrest against it on the base, so you can the catch at Use backward tilting as an abutment for the feet.

If, according to claim 21, a device for adjusting with several joints is connected (or in the extreme case according to claim 22, a device for adjusting with all joints is connected), the operation of the degrees of freedom becomes very simple. This solves a major problem, which consists in adapting seats to the respective user. If the seat can only be adjusted for one person, the optimal setting once found can remain constant (eg in the case of multi-adjustable car seats); a few known users try to solve the problem with memory cards. However, these solutions cannot be used in public transport, including airplanes; In addition, the passengers are sometimes unwilling or unable to read and implement operating instructions for setting. Therefore, according to the invention, the extremely simple and intuitively comprehensible method is realized: "pulling the control lever, conveniently setting it up, lever back": This is made possible by pulling the (single) devices for manual actuation, which is preferably designed in the form of an operating lever , all adjustable elements become free. This allows the user to push back the elements through muscle power, without even knowing and understanding their function and possibilities of movement, while they follow his compliant body by spring or gravity. In particular, it will
    • in the case of a fixed connection of seat and backrest according to claim 14 (first alternative) when the upper body is leaning back, the backrest surface is tilted back and the front seat is tilted up and when the upper body is leaning forward, the backrest is tilted and the seat is tilted down,
    • at a gem. Claim 15 rotatable backrest surface attached to the spars when the pelvis slides forward on the seat surface and when the upper body leans back, the seat surface for small-sized passengers is reduced, while it is enlarged for taller passengers in the opposite direction of movement,
    • in the case of a footrest connected to the seat by at least two freely rotatable levers, said footrest is gripped by a foot and moved to almost every point of the footwell,
    • the construction is particularly simple if, in the case of a mass distribution, the backrest pillars, backrest surface and seat surface return to the vertical or horizontal starting position without the involvement of springs.

Then two functions are described together that are created by the interaction of multiple claims be realized, namely the child seat and the way of working the footrest.

In contrast to adults, children do not have seats in all public transport that are ergonomically, comfortably and safely adapted to their physique. Many suggestions have been made for airplanes, which usually amount to special installations in adult seats or to children's seats, all of which have serious defects. In contrast, according to the invention, a child seat is only realized by a child-appropriate setting of the standard seat for adults. Here are just
    • the backrest bars are tilted forward, whereby the backrest surface can remain vertical so that the seat depth is reduced to approximately half
    • if necessary, the footrest is pulled up to the edge of the seat so that the feet can be placed in any desired position.

The footrest operations are as follows. At the Taking the seat is the notch in the rest position on or blocked under the seat. When pulling the control lever first released the two swivel joints or swivel joint pairs, this will pull the upper lever of the Footrest system against the effect of the return spring pressed down and so the lower lever with the Footrest on the abutment pushed forward where they are in the starting position according to claim 26 comes to rest at a height of 5 - 10 cm above the floor. This will bring the footrest into the passenger’s field of vision, who grabs it with the foot and into the desired one Work position shifts. Then he puts the control lever back, which blocks both joints and puts the Feet on the now blocked footrest. If he leaves his seat he pulls up the control lever, releasing all the joints and all moving elements in the rest position to return. Among other things, the lever system gives the footrest this way after, the peg slides to the ground and becomes thence by the return spring to the starting position in the Rest position pulled on or under the seat.

In the following the invention is exemplified with reference to Described drawings.

Figures 1 to 6 show the seat acc. Claim 1 in different embodiments and settings. In Fig. 1 are all moving elements in the rest position in which the Passenger meets the seat while occupying the seat. The Seat S is horizontal, the spars H and the backrest surface L almost vertical. The footrest R lies on the abutment W. on, it is due to the footrest lever E1 and the Lever E2 remote from the footrest connected to the seat. The Joints G1 to G4 are blocked. Denote Q1 and Q2 Cross bars, the z. B. in aircraft seats on two legs B1 and B2 lie on and z. B. carry three single seats; Q1, Q2, B1, B2 and the crossbar T form the base. Fig. 1a shows a seat from an airplane with three such individual seats in the frontal view. In the floor there are rails N for fastening of legs, the position of which is fixed. The possible Switching between banks of two and three requires one asymmetrical structure of the bench and a strong cantilever like this is shown in Fig. 1a on the right side. The figures 1 and 1a also show the two levers of footrest E1 and E2, the horizontal catch R and the abutment W. Furthermore, the axis or the joint G3 is shown, around which turn the seat S and the spars H and the joint G4 to Rotation of the backrest surface L in relation to the bars.

Fig. 2 shows the setting that an adult made has to rest. He has with the control lever pulled up covered, causing the spars and backrest to tip over to the rear, the seat firmly connected to the spars tipped up at the front, the footrest pushed into the starting position. The passenger then pulled the footrest into that shown in FIG. 2 Working position and blocked bars, backrest surface, seating surface and the footrest levers by replacing the operating lever in the position shown in Fig. 2. Under the seat is a Baggage shown that can be H2 higher than baggage of height H1, which are stowed under conventional seats can.

Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which the spars forward can be tilted into a setting as a child seat. In addition, the upper part of the backrest surface is to the rear inclined so that the seat depth is reduced to about half Has. The footrest is pulled up sharply, so that a total Seat is created, the size of a toddler equivalent.

Fig. 4 shows an embodiment in which the seat is independent can be folded up from the spars so that the passenger the preparations for taking his seat in front of his seat can make and no longer as with conventional seats is forced to do this from the aisle and so the passage to block for the other passengers. The figure shows the folded up seat S and a leg of the close to the seat approached passenger who is next to the legs of the seat was put on. With this arrangement it is not too Close seat spacing even makes it possible for a second passenger to walks past the drawn first. The advantages of folded up seat can only be reached if the two cross bars Q1 and Q2 of the underframe are narrower lie together as this in Figures 1 to 3 and in the conventional aircraft seats is the case.

Aus Gründen der Crash-Sicherheit muß allerdings der verbleibende Holm Q2 verstärkt werden, was in Fig. 5 durch einen vergrößerten Querschnitt dargestellt ist.5 and 6 is the option of folding up the seat considered even more. 5 is the disruptive Cross bar Q1 omitted and the front leg of the seat directly connected to the rear cross member Q2 so that the passenger can step very far into the seat. Because of However, the remaining spar Q2 has to be crash-proof be amplified, which is shown in Fig. 5 by an enlarged Cross section is shown.

Fig. 6 zeigt eine Alternative zur Verstärkung von Q2. Fig. 6a zeigt die Anordnung in der Frontalsicht. Figure 6 shows an alternative to amplifying Q2. The Querholm Q1 is retained, but it will hit the ground lowered. 6a shows the arrangement in a frontal view. Together with the two front legs B2 and the end rails A1 and A2 form Q1 and Q2 a resilient framework that at a crash the big ones, partly over the seat belts of the Passengers on Q2 initiated delay forces safely derives the rails N. Regarding the evasion of the Passengers boarding Fig. 6 shows that the first passenger can step on or possibly behind the lower cross member Q1 to let a second passenger go by

A.Figures 7 to 10 show the seat acc. Claim 2 in Various settings: Fig. 7 in the working position, Fig. 8 in the rest position, FIG. 9 in the folded position and FIG. 10 in Folded position. Fig. 7 shows the bottom B, in the for Seat two rails are embedded, one of which is bills N is shown. A cross bar Q1 is through Fastening devices F connected to both rails. Structures A that absorb energy in the event of a crash, connect the rails to the cross bar Q2. Stand D, the are arranged on both sides of the seats, connect the cross bars and complete the supporting structure N, Q1, D, Q2, A.

The Guide device V is mounted on the stand. In her slides and rotates the guide element E, which with the Seat S is connected. This is through at the front edge the supports are supported, the lower end of the support stands on the floor without being attached to it; the Rather, guiding the lower end of the support St is through the Straps C performed, which are attached to the stand D. This Components are all connected by swivel, what by Circular areas is marked. The guide element E is still connected to the spars H, which in turn the Wear the curved backrest surface L. A seat consists of one Seat S and a backrest surface L and two each Stands St, guide devices V, guide elements E, Brackets C, supports St and spars H.

The rear edge of the seat has strong, the front edge by tilting the supports slightly lowered, resulting in a strong inclination of the Has led seat. In Fig. 8, the angle between the Seat and the spars the same amount as in Fig. 7, However, according to claim 14 (second alternative) seat and backrest are rotatable connected to each other, so the spars and thus the Backrest surface can also be tilted further back.

In Fig. 10 seat, supports, tabs and spars in the Level of the stand rotated. If you take additional stands and the energy absorbing structure from the anchoring what at Use of standard quick release connections as Fasteners little effort, so the Seat removed and space-saving on board or in the magazine be stored. Alternatively, it can also be used vertically rotated and in mixed traffic goods like mail bags between the folded seats are transported.
