Abstract

Zur Verarbeitung von Sendungen mit durchsichtigen Umschlägen werden vor den Lichtschranken (E) der Weichen (F) der Sortiereinrichtung neben den Außenkanten der undurchsichtigen Sendungen senkrecht zur Transportrichtung die Außenkanten durchsichtiger Umschläge und die Außenkanten ihrer undurchsichtigen Inhalte detektiert. Unter Zugrundelegung der Transportgeschwindigkeit werden aus diesen Meßsignalen die Abstände der Außenkanten der durchsichtigen Umschläge von den Außenkanten ihrer undurchsichtigen Inhalte in Transportrichtung ermittelt und der jeweiligen Sendung zugeordnet gespeichert. Aus den von den sichtbaren Vorder- und Hinterkanten der Sendungen ausgelösten Signalen der vor jeder Weiche (F) befindlichen Lichtschranke (E) und den mittels Sendungslaufverfolgung in der Sortiereinrichtung der jeweiligen detektierten Sendung zugeordneten Abständen der Kanten der durchsichtigen Umschläge von den Kanten der undurchsichtigen Inhalte werden die Entfernungen der Vorder- und Hinterkanten der durchsichtigen Umschläge zum Meßzeitpunkt von der zugehörigen Weiche (F) ermittelt und daraus die Schaltzeitpunkte für die jeweilige Weiche so berechnet, daß die festgelegten Abstände zwischen den Sendungen eingehalten und die Sendungen sicher ausgeschleust werden, wobei der Abstand der Lichtschranke (E) von der jeweiligen Weiche (F) so groß ist, daß nach Detektierung der Inhaltsvorderkanten der jeweiligen Sendung die Weiche geschaltet werden kann, bevor die Vorderkante des zugehörigen durchsichtigen Umschlages bei maximal zulässiger Verschiebung die Weiche erreicht.
