Abstract

A film of lubricant film is deposited onto an extruded cable sheath by spraying in the plasma phase (sputtering). A unit comprising an extruder (20) for forming a sheath on the core (10) of a cable; a station with a chamber (21) in which a lubricant is applied to the cable by spraying in the plasma phase (sputtering); and a cooling cell (22).
