Abstract

A door region is monitored by a pair of cameras (2) set into the ceiling together with lighting units (16). The cameras have a field of vision of some 70 degrees. The camera output signals are converted to digital form and are fed to a microprocessor that executes a routine to compare the image with a stored reference image. An Independent claim for an optical monitoring system is also included.
