Abstract

To detect cut yarn without limiting the arrangement of the yarn winding machines. The present yarn winding machine installs in a row spindles, each of which has one yarn supply package 8, and rotates a spindle apparatus 2 of each spindle to twist and wind yarn Y released from the yarn supply package of each spindle while ballooned it. The yarn winding machine detects a load current through a driving motor 6 provided for a spindle apparatus 2 of each spindle, and compares the load current with a threshold value to determine that the yarn has been cut if the load current is lower than the threshold value.
