Description
The invention relates to a cable connector with a Insulation body and with several fastened in the insulation body electrical contact paths, the plug-side end each as a contact element for producing an electrical Contact with a mating connector and their opposite End each formed as a solder connection for a cable conductor (see for example FR-A-2 618 614).
Such connectors are particularly related with that sought by several computer manufacturers standardized USB (Universal Serial Bus) concept known become and of interest. This new bus system works it's basically about connecting peripheral devices to a PC no longer as before via individual, parallel Connections with separate and often different connector systems make, but the peripheral devices in essentially to be connected serially to a common bus line, via a standardized socket on the housing the PC directly with a printed circuit board (motherboard) the PC is connected. The mating face of the PCB socket (receptacle) is essentially already through one specification specifies and assigns four in one level adjacent, strip-shaped contact springs, those when the bus connector is plugged in with the ones arranged in it four adjacent contact rails or - Interact with the tracks and establish the electrical contact. The contact springs are in the socket plug in an insulation body, which essentially has a plastic tongue has rectangular cross section, arranged and are in their rear area to connecting legs protruding downwards angled, which can be inserted into contact holes in the circuit board are. Plugs and mating plugs are common provided with a metallic shield housing. In the ceiling and The bottom area of these shield plates are two snap hooks provided that fit in the recesses on the shield housing Mating connector engage and the holding forces when pulling out of the plug and the ground contact.
The solder connections of the previous cable connectors are common as a flat, protruding from the insulation body Sheet metal elements formed, accordingly, from the insulation body are essentially not touched or carried. This well-known Solution is constructive and thermally not without Disadvantage.
The present invention is based on the object known cable connector with respect to the described To improve disadvantages.
With a cable connector of the type mentioned solved this problem in that the solder connection is a V-shaped Has cross-section and with its from the cable conductor facing away from the back by overmolding with plastic in the insulation body is embedded.
The invention is described below using two exemplary embodiments explained in connection with figures.
In Figure 1 is an injection molded from plastic material
1 recognizable, in which, for. B. four side by
The V-shape of the solder connections according to the invention works best
from Figure 2. The V-shape of the solder connections has the advantage
that with regard to the cable conductors that are shown in FIG
from above and in Figure 2 from below lengthways into the
Must think soldered connections 4 inserted, a larger wetting area
arises during soldering. The cable ladder becomes practical
totally enclosed in solder. During the soldering process
the V shape also requires advantageous prepositioning
of the cable conductor. The V shape still allows
easy embedding or encapsulation of the
Solder connection 4 when spraying the insulation body 1. How
best seen in Figure 1, it is easily possible
to embed the solder connection 4 as far as possible in the insulation body 1,
that the back facing away from the cable conductor is completely
is surrounded by the plastic material. The embedding
on the one hand brings better mechanical stability and fixation
the
It is advantageous at the cable end of the solder connection 4 to provide a stepped tab 3 so that the contact track end is particularly firmly anchored in the plastic material, so that additional protection against, for example due to thermal stresses during the soldering process Moving is given.
