Description

The invention relates to a housing-free plate heat exchanger, in particular liquid-cooled Oil cooler, with a large number of deformed, stacked and stacked heat exchanger plates, which have separate flow channels for heat-exchanging media and with exiting connections for the supply and discharge of at least one medium and with the base plate and cover plate that complete the heat exchanger plates and optionally with an attached oil filter.

Oil coolers designed in accordance with this description are known from U.S. Patent No. 4,708,199. The oil coolers shown in the various embodiments can be both smooth and deformed Have cover plates. In the case of an oil filter attached, the cover plates form simultaneously the sealing surface, with the addition of a suitable seal. Smooth cover plates are here provided if radially outgoing connections for the cooling medium immediately below the cover plate are arranged. (Fig. 15) If deformed cover plates are used the connections below, in the area of the base plate, as is the case, for example, in FIG. 9 of the US patent is shown.

The insertion of the connecting piece in the area below the cover plate is technically from Disadvantage because they are either in a lateral opening of the vertical edge of the cover plate located or placed on this opening. If the connecting pieces are attached, they are held temporarily before soldering, which requires devices. Are the connecting pieces used against it, the dimension of the holes in the lateral vertical wall be slightly larger than the diameter of the nozzle. Because of the coating of the material with solder, sometimes with different layer thickness, this insertion can therefore be difficult prepare. Furthermore, the tightness and strength of the solder joint are also through affects the size of the areas to be connected. Since the soldering area is relatively small here, it can increasingly leaky or insufficient strength connections. From another US patent no. 860 823, which also relates to a heat exchanger, however, a heat exchanger constructed according to a completely different principle, consisting of Pipe plates that form flow channels for a liquid medium and are inserted between them Slats through which a gaseous medium (air) flows, it is known, radially emerging connection piece to be arranged on the collection boxes (tank element 3). The half-shells of the collection boxes have semicircular formations, which when joining the two half shells Take up the connecting piece. This provides a larger soldering area, so that the tightness of the soldered connection is improved compared to the solution previously described is. However, here is the combination of the heat exchanger with one arranged above the heat exchanger Filters not provided. This heat exchanger can be used, for example, as an evaporator, which could be in the cooling circuit of an air conditioning system.

The object of the invention is, in particular, in a case-less plate heat exchanger liquid-cooled oil cooler to improve the tightness of the connecting piece Simplify the manufacture of the plate heat exchanger and an inexpensive connection option for to provide the filter arranged above the plate heat exchanger.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the claims solved.

Thereafter, the cover plate consisting of two parts joined partially over the On the edge of the heat exchanger plates projecting areas, the half-shell-shaped Have sections for receiving a connecting piece that have openings in the lower part of the Cover plate in connection with the flow channel of the medium through the plate heat exchanger are.

The length of the half-shell-like sections is chosen so that a sufficiently large soldering area for the connecting pieces within these sections is available: These sections are preferably a small amount over the edge of the heat exchanger plates, whereby the size of the soldering area is variable. A major advantage of such training is in that the solder joint can be done in one step without additional Auxiliary devices for clamping the parts are necessary. The action of a force from above that when soldering such plate heat exchangers is necessary in any case and simply by the support of a metal block can be achieved is completely sufficient for the connecting piece to be soldered with high quality in the half-shell-like sections.

The upper part of the cover plate, ie the one that forms the sealing surface to the filter, has one circular shape, so that the sealing surface is annular. In this sealing surface there may be a ring seal, i.e. the sealing surface has a circumferential bead in which the ring seal is inserted. The expression serves at the same time to stiffen the cover plate and makes it possible to provide smaller sheet thicknesses. The lower cover plate can also be shaped have for stiffening.

Furthermore, there is at least one central opening in both parts of the cover plate, in which known way a banjo bolt for the return of the oil is arranged, which continues until to the filter above. The edges of the inward facing this central opening circular shape, can have one or more additional openings through which the Oil can enter the filter. Apertures corresponding to these openings are also in the arranged lower part of the cover plate. The openings are in hydraulic connection with the Flow channels for the second medium through the plate heat exchanger.

The invention is explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The only figure shows an exploded view of the housing-less plate heat exchanger 1. The package of heat exchanger plates 2 was shown in principle below and is in on formed in a known manner so that separate flow channels 8 for the coolant and for the oil emerge. Such plate heat exchangers 1 usually have a slightly thicker lower one Base plate, which is not shown.

Flow arrows 15 show the flow through the plate heat exchanger 1 on the coolant side. The oil side of less interest here was only through flow openings 12 and the central one Flow opening 13 indicated.

The entire package is with cover plates 3a; 3b connected to a firmly joined unit by means of soldering. The cover plates 3a; 3b are so tightly soldered to one another that at least the mixing the coolant with the oil is excluded and neither coolant nor oil to the outside can exit. Of course there is also a soldered connection for the separation between Coolant inlet and outlet. However, there are minor leaks with no serious consequences.

The lower cover plate 3b and the upper cover plate 3a are molded parts by deep drawing. The upper cover plate 3a has an annular, upwardly projecting expression 9, which for Support of an oil filter, not shown, but at the same time the cover plate 3a has a higher stability gives so that it can consist of a thinner sheet. The expression 9 is with a provided annular bead 14 which is provided for receiving a sealing ring. The central one Opening 13 serves to feed the oil into the filter and also to return the filtered one Oil. The oil could also be supplied through openings (not shown) within the expression 9 done.

The half-shell-like sections 4 protrude over the edge 10 of the plate heat exchanger 1. You are provided both in the upper cover plate 3a and in the cover plate 3b arranged below. The half-shell-like sections 4 also make an additional contribution to the increase the rigidity of the cover plate 3. In one section 4 there is the connecting piece 5 for the inlet of the coolant into the plate heat exchanger 1 and in the other section 4 accordingly, the connection piece 6 is arranged for the return. Sections 4 in the lower cover plate 3b have approximately the same length. This length corresponds approximately to the protrusion the cover plate 3 over the edge 10 of the package of heat exchanger plates 2. The upper Cover plate 3a, however, has longer sections 4, which are also of different lengths. Their length is chosen so that the connecting pieces 5 or 5 enclosed in the sections 4 6 are in fluid communication with the openings 7 and the flow channel 8. The inner ends 16; 17 of the sections 4 are provided with smooth transitions to the Keep flow resistance for the coolant low.

The connection piece 5 and 6 are designed here as a straight piece. Depending on the installation conditions the plate heat exchanger 1 could of course also knee-shaped connecting pieces here are used.

In the half-shell-like sections 4 beads 11 are embossed, with beads 11 around the connecting piece 5; 6 match. These beads 11 are used to position the connecting sockets 5; 6 in the half-shell-like sections 4 and improve the tightness and strength.
