Definitions
- the invention relates to electrical switches, and more especially switchgear power switches control, including heating, ventilation installation and / or air conditioning of a motor vehicle.
- This invention relates more particularly still to electrical switches comprising a body mounted to rotation around an axis perpendicular to tracks primary and a secondary feed track, forming a set of electrically conductive tracks and geometries selected individuals.
- the body supports radially at at least two electrically interconnected conductive projections, carrying a total of at least three contact pads.
- one of the two projections carries two studs intended to ensure a double surface contact on one primary tracks or two surface contacts simple on two neighboring tracks.
- This type of switch is disclosed, for example, by the publication FR-95 10566 of the Applicant. It is generally used to control an electrical appliance, such as for example the electric motor of a blower.
- the primary tracks of game are connected to resistors of different values. So according to the contacts made by the switch, and therefore depending on its angular position, a user can manage the engine speed, and therefore the flow treated air which opens into the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
- this switch Due to its configuration, this switch has a certain size, especially radial, which may limit it use in certain types of vehicles. In addition, his space does not allow to control the installation according to different operating modes (at least two).
- An object of the invention is therefore to provide a switch electric, for control panel, which does not have all or part of the disadvantages of switches in the prior art.
- the invention proposes an electrical switch of the type described in the introduction, in which the projections are shaped so that two of the three studs establish a contact in the foreground while the third stud establishes a contact in a second plane which can be substantially parallel to the first.
- two of the studs among the three are angularly spaced and contact at least one of the primary tracks, when the body is placed in certain predetermined positions, the distance tangential, corresponding to the angular difference between these two pads spaced angularly, being greater than the tangential distance between two neighboring and lower tracks to the tangential dimension of each primary track.
- either primary tracks and the secondary track are noticeably coplanar and define by upper faces and lower respectively the first and second planes, that is the primary tracks and the secondary track are placed respectively in two substantially parallel planes and respectively define by their opposite faces one on the other, or opposed to each other, the first and second shots.
- the tracks primary and secondary are distributed respectively substantially in first and second annular zones located on the periphery of the switch body. These areas annulars may extend over 180 °, or even over 360 °.
- the first and second annular zones are located at the periphery of the body at distances chosen so that they do not overlap.
- the radial distance between the first and second zones will advantageously be chosen lower than the radial distance between the studs making contacts in one plane.
- the first and second zones annulars may overlap or not.
- the projections also carry a fourth contact pad so that a second contact can be established between the projections and the secondary track Power.
- the protrusions when there are two of them, can be made in many forms. They can be notably substantially superimposed in planes parallel to the first and second planes. But, they can also be positioned diametrically opposite and each have at the end of their radial part first and second curved arms which roll up in a same direction around the periphery of the body and are placed substantially in planes parallel to the first and second shots, the first and second arms of the projections opposite preferably winding in directions opposed.
- the arms that these may be of different shapes depending on, from hand, that the contacts are established on primary tracks and secondary coplanar or distributed on two planes superimposed, and on the other hand, the shapes (or geometries) chosen tracks. So the first and second arms curved from each projection can be rolled up by presenting the same radius of curvature, constant or not (increasing or decreasing), or different radii of curvature. Of even, these arms may have lengths substantially identical or different so that the studs of a protrusion are offset angularly.
- the arms have a substantially axial curvature produced by folding their base, each arm having a part extremally closer axially to a runway than is its base of this same track. This ensures a elastic contact between a track and a projection by through a point of contact.
- the game of primary and secondary tracks is connected to a motor electrical installation.
- the treasure hunt can include also, in selected places, tertiary tracks belonging to control circuits of organs of the vehicle other than the installation's electric motor. It could in particular be one or more tracks of a lighting circuit.
- This characteristic concerns more particularly the embodiments of the invention in which the secondary track is superimposed on the tracks primary, since it is then possible to place several tertiary tracks next to the secondary track, below (or above) the primary tracks.
- the switch according to the invention controls an electric motor managing the speed of a blower in the installation
- This type of dual function switch is made possible because of the space saved thanks to the invention.
- the projections are extensions radials of a metal ring folded so as to form two superimposed half-rings. So the ring and its extensions can be done in a single step by precut of a flat disc.
- FIG. 1 A first embodiment of an electrical switch according to the invention.
- This embodiment is called “mono-ply”. It concerns a rotary switch intended, in the example illustrated in the figures, piloting an installation motor vehicle heating and / or air conditioning (not shown in Figure 1). Of course, this type of rotary electric switch could be used in other types of facilities.
- this type of switch comprises a body 1 rotatably mounted around a axis XX and integral in an upper part of an organ 3 protruding from the top a control box 4 through an orifice provided in the instrument panel 5 of the vehicle.
- the controller 3 is realized in the form of a rotary button suitable for being rotated by a passenger-user housed in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. As illustrated in the Figures 14 and 15, this rotary button 3 can take several positions which correspond respectively to settings part of the installation.
- the electrical switch is more particularly intended for set the speed of a group blower (not shown) motor-fan of the heating installation and / or vehicle air conditioning.
- the rotary button 3 can take 4 materialized positions, for example on the dashboard 5, with the digits 0 to 3, each position corresponding to different fan modes, and by therefore at different air flow rates. In others terms, each position corresponds to an intensity of supply current of the blower which is different from the neighboring position. Position 0 indicates the position of "rest” (or deactivation) of the blower, and position 3 the one in which the treated air flow is maximum.
- the rotary button 3 illustrated in FIG. 15 ensures two functions: management of both the air flows from the exterior of the vehicle and the interior of the passenger compartment (also called recirculated air).
- the button control, and therefore the electrical switch can take seven different positions, one position central unit corresponding to the deactivation of the pulser, and twice three corresponding side positions at three different blower speeds, respectively for the supply of recirculated air and outside air.
- the body 1 of the rotary switch also supports, in a lower part 6, a slider 7 (see FIG. 3) made of an electrically conductive material.
- This cursor 7 is intended to establish electrical contacts between primary 8-i tracks and a secondary track feed 9, which tracks constitute a set of tracks (see Figure 2).
- These tracks are made of an electrically conductive material, such as copper, and are maintained like this is better illustrated in Figures 2 and 5, one next to the other others by a support 10 formed in an insulating material, such as for example a plastic-type synthetic material.
- the primary and secondary tracks are distributed over an angular sector of approximately 180 °. But they could extend over 180 °, even 360 °, as required.
- the secondary feed track 9 has a partially shaped central part 11 annular, intended to surround the body 1 at a distance device R1 of axis XX, and ends in one of its ends by a pin 12 allowing connection to a connector (not shown in the figures).
- the primary tracks 8-i are placed beyond the track secondary supply 9, at a peripheral distance R2 of axis XX (R2> R1). They each include a first partially annular part which ends, like the secondary feed track 9, by a second part forming a pin 13 intended to be introduced into the aforementioned connector. These first parts are therefore distributed in a second annular zone which surrounds, in this example, the first annular zone 11.
- the secondary feed track 9 is intended to be connected, via the connector, to a current generator or Of voltage.
- the primary 8-i tracks are independent and electrically isolated from each other. They are respectively connected, always via the connector, to resistors (not shown) of different values and forming an integral part of the supply circuit of the electric motor of the blower. So according to the primary track 8-i which is contacted by cursor 7 at the same time as the secondary track 9, the current which feeds the motor electric of the blower varies.
- the cursor 7 (see Figures 3 and 5) includes projections 14-1 and 14-2 each comprising a linear part substantially radial, extended, in the example illustrated, by two arms 16-a and 16-b, of form general circular, carrying at their end a stud contact 15 intended to establish an electrical contact between the projection which carries it and the track contacted.
- the arms 16 are wound around an annular portion 17 of the cursor 7 electrically connecting the two projections 14 between them.
- the cursor 7 is first of all precut in a flat disc, preferably metallic, so that form the circular portion 17, the projections 14 and the arms 16. Then, the cursor 7 is folded along a diameter of the annular part so that the arms 16 of each projection 14 are distributed in two substantially parallel planes between them and called upper and lower.
- the contact pads 15 are produced by stamping of the terminal part of the arms, using a appropriate tool. Such stamping can be carried out after the step of cutting the cursor 7, and before folding.
- the two projections 14 are substantially diametrically opposite and their pairs of arms roll up, after folding, in two opposite directions, one in the direction clockwise and the other counterclockwise.
- the contact pads 15 are found, therefore, all grouped in a region of low volume.
- the first projection 14-1 is intended to establish a double contact with the secondary track supply 9, which is located closer to the axis XX than are the primary tracks 8-i. It's here reason why, in this example, arms 16-a and 16-b worn by this first projection 14-1 have substantially identical dimensions (length and curvature). The arms 16 extend here over an angular sector of approximately 90 °, and their contact pads 15 are therefore substantially face.
- arms 16-a and 16-b have an axial curvature obtained after the step of cutting, by folding their base 18 located at the end of the linear part of the corresponding projection 14.
- the radius of curvature of the arms 16-a and 16-b of the first projection 14-1 decreases from base 18 towards the terminal part opposite bearing the contact pad 15.
- the two arms 16-a and 16-b carried by the second projection 14-2 are made according to the same principle as those worn by the first projection 14-1. In this example, they only show, however not identical lengths.
- the studs of contact 15 carried by these two arms 16-a and 16-b are not therefore not superimposed one above the other. They are angularly offset by a distance greater than the circumferential (or tangential) distance between two neighboring tracks (primary or primary and secondary), and less than the circumferential extension of the tracks primary 8-i in the second annular zone.
- the arms 16-a and 16-b of the second projection 14-2 can establish either a double contact on the faces upper and lower of a primary track 8-i, i.e. two mono-contacts on the upper face of a track and the face lower of the neighboring track so as to short-circuit them without interrupting the power supply to the motor.
- the switch is between two of its predetermined positions but a current continues to circulate, which avoids electric arcs ensuring continuity of supply of the motor by a point contact.
- the four studs 15 carried by the two projections 14 must be close to each other. This is why, in this example, the arms carried by the second projection 14-2 extend over an angular sector of approximately 90 °. Through elsewhere, so that the arms of the second projection 14-2 can wrap around the arms carried by the first protrusion 14-1, their respective curvatures grow with their base 18 towards their terminal part carrying the stud contact 15.
- arms 16-a and 16-b of the second projection 14-2 can establish contacts with respectively the upper and lower faces of primary tracks 8, which are then inserted between their respective studs.
- the respective shapes of the arms carried by the protrusions depend on the shape chosen for each of the tracks of the treasure hunt. The same goes for positioning radial projections, which are not necessarily positioned diametrically opposite. So, we could provide two substantially protruding radial projections superimposed one above the other, and bearing in places spaced radially, or not, two arms intended to each establish contact with the upper faces or lower secondary feed tracks 9 and primary 8-i. Similarly, in the case of diametrically protruding opposite, we can consider a variant in which the arms 16-a contained substantially in the upper plane conform to contact the single track secondary feed 9, while arms 16-b substantially contained in the lower plane are shaped so as to establish contacts with the only tracks primary 8-i (outside the rest position). Many still other variants can be envisaged.
- Immobilization of the cursor 7 on the body 1 of the switch takes place in a lower part 6 of it thanks to immobilization means, of the protruding type 19 (see figure 4) intended to cooperate with notches formed on said cursor 7, for example at its radial projections 14-1 and 14-2.
- a switch according to the invention can also integrate tracks services belonging to supply circuits or other parts of the vehicle, such as example lighting.
- tracks services belonging to supply circuits or other parts of the vehicle such as example lighting.
- Such a variant is illustrated on the figure 6.
- Tertiary tracks 20-1 to 20-5 are here held by the support 10 in a plane substantially parallel to that of the primary 8-i and secondary 9 tracks.
- FIGS. 7 to 13 we now refer more particularly to FIGS. 7 to 13 to describe a second embodiment of the invention, says bi-tablecloth.
- the secondary supply track 9 is no longer located in the same plane as the slopes primary 8-i. As is more particularly illustrated in FIG. 8A, the secondary feed track is now found below (or above) the slopes primary 8-1 to 8-4. These two types of tracks are by therefore kept side by side, and one above or below the others by the support 10, whence the designation "bi-tablecloth".
- the annular parts of the 8-i primary tracks and the secondary feed track 9 preferably overlap substantially. But he could be otherwise in variants.
- two variants can be considered, depending on whether arms 16-a and 16-b of radial projections 14 are located between the tracks primary 8-i and the secondary feed track 9, or although these same arms frame the primary tracks and the secondary feed track.
- this second embodiment allows integration into the tertiary tracks switch 20.
- These tertiary tracks can be placed in the plane containing the track secondary supply 9, as illustrated in the figure 12. But, we can also provide tertiary tracks in the same plane as the primary tracks 8-i.
- track support 10 will be adapted depending on the number of primary, secondary and tertiary, and their respective forms.
- the shapes arms may vary according to the shape of the tracks primary 8-i and secondary feed track 9.
- the track set illustrated in FIG. 8A is more particularly suitable for managing a single function, such as for example that of the outside air flow treated by the kicker.
- a single function such as for example that of the outside air flow treated by the kicker.
- the switch according to the invention in bi-function mode, as illustrated in figure 15, it is necessary to adapt the primary tracks 8-i of the figure 8A.
- the primary tracks 8-i are now spread over substantially 360 °.
- Runway 8-1 corresponds substantially to the position 0 illustrated in FIG. 15, while the tracks 8-2 to 8-4 correspond to positions 1 to 3 of each function.
- these tracks 8-2 to 8-4 include two electrically connected parts, so that the contact of either part of a track ensures the same power supply at the electric motor.
- the switch body is mechanically coupled to a cam path that manages the position of one or more air intake shutters.

Description
The invention relates to electrical switches, and more especially switchgear power switches control, including heating, ventilation installation and / or air conditioning of a motor vehicle.
This invention relates more particularly still to electrical switches comprising a body mounted to rotation around an axis perpendicular to tracks primary and a secondary feed track, forming a set of electrically conductive tracks and geometries selected individuals. The body supports radially at at least two electrically interconnected conductive projections, carrying a total of at least three contact pads. Generally, one of the two projections carries two studs intended to ensure a double surface contact on one primary tracks or two surface contacts simple on two neighboring tracks.
This type of switch is disclosed, for example, by the publication FR-95 10566 of the Applicant. It is generally used to control an electrical appliance, such as for example the electric motor of a blower. The primary tracks of game are connected to resistors of different values. So according to the contacts made by the switch, and therefore depending on its angular position, a user can manage the engine speed, and therefore the flow treated air which opens into the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
Due to its configuration, this switch has a certain size, especially radial, which may limit it use in certain types of vehicles. In addition, his space does not allow to control the installation according to different operating modes (at least two).
An object of the invention is therefore to provide a switch electric, for control panel, which does not have all or part of the disadvantages of switches in the prior art.
To this end, the invention proposes an electrical switch of the type described in the introduction, in which the projections are shaped so that two of the three studs establish a contact in the foreground while the third stud establishes a contact in a second plane which can be substantially parallel to the first. In addition, two of the studs among the three are angularly spaced and contact at least one of the primary tracks, when the body is placed in certain predetermined positions, the distance tangential, corresponding to the angular difference between these two pads spaced angularly, being greater than the tangential distance between two neighboring and lower tracks to the tangential dimension of each primary track.
By tangential distance, or distance circumferential, the linear distance between two points located on the same portion of an arc, or two points projected on a plane and belonging respectively to portions of substantially parallel arcs of a circle.
Two configurations can be envisaged: either primary tracks and the secondary track are noticeably coplanar and define by upper faces and lower respectively the first and second planes, that is the primary tracks and the secondary track are placed respectively in two substantially parallel planes and respectively define by their opposite faces one on the other, or opposed to each other, the first and second shots.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the tracks primary and secondary are distributed respectively substantially in first and second annular zones located on the periphery of the switch body. These areas annulars may extend over 180 °, or even over 360 °. In addition, when contacts are established on primary and secondary coplanar tracks, it is particularly advantageous than the first and second annular zones are located at the periphery of the body at distances chosen so that they do not overlap. In this case, the radial distance between the first and second zones will advantageously be chosen lower than the radial distance between the studs making contacts in one plane. However, when contacts are established on primary and secondary tracks distributed on two superimposed planes, the first and second zones annulars may overlap or not.
Preferably, the projections also carry a fourth contact pad so that a second contact can be established between the projections and the secondary track Power. In this case, it is particularly advantageous to provide two projections each carrying two contact pads.
The protrusions, when there are two of them, can be made in many forms.
Just like the projections, the arms that these may be of different shapes depending on, from hand, that the contacts are established on primary tracks and secondary coplanar or distributed on two planes superimposed, and on the other hand, the shapes (or geometries) chosen tracks. So the first and second arms curved from each projection can be rolled up by presenting the same radius of curvature, constant or not (increasing or decreasing), or different radii of curvature. Of even, these arms may have lengths substantially identical or different so that the studs of a protrusion are offset angularly.
According to yet another characteristic of the invention, the arms have a substantially axial curvature produced by folding their base, each arm having a part extremally closer axially to a runway than is its base of this same track. This ensures a elastic contact between a track and a projection by through a point of contact.
In a preferred application of the invention, the game of primary and secondary tracks is connected to a motor electrical installation.
According to yet another characteristic of the invention, saving space, the treasure hunt can include also, in selected places, tertiary tracks belonging to control circuits of organs of the vehicle other than the installation's electric motor. It could in particular be one or more tracks of a lighting circuit. This characteristic concerns more particularly the embodiments of the invention in which the secondary track is superimposed on the tracks primary, since it is then possible to place several tertiary tracks next to the secondary track, below (or above) the primary tracks.
In a particular embodiment in which the switch according to the invention controls an electric motor managing the speed of a blower in the installation, we can add a mechanism for switching the power supply in blower air between so-called "outdoor" modes (external air supply) and "recirculated" (supply in recirculated air). This type of dual function switch is made possible because of the space saved thanks to the invention. In this embodiment, it is possible to subdivide into two electrically connected parts, one at least primary tracks so the scheme of the motor can be set in outdoor mode as in recirculated.
Preferably, the projections are extensions radials of a metal ring folded so as to form two superimposed half-rings. So the ring and its extensions can be done in a single step by precut of a flat disc.

We first refer to Figures 1 to 5 to describe a first embodiment of an electrical switch according to the invention. This embodiment is called "mono-ply". It concerns a rotary switch intended, in the example illustrated in the figures, piloting an installation motor vehicle heating and / or air conditioning (not shown in Figure 1). Of course, this type of rotary electric switch could be used in other types of facilities.
In its application to motor vehicles, this type of
switch comprises a
maximal. In the example illustrated in Figure 14, the
Unlike the rotary knob shown in Figure 14,
which only ensures a single function (management
the air flow from the outside of the vehicle), the
The
pistes (voir figure 2).This
In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5,
the primary tracks 8-i (here i = 1 to 4) and the track
In this example, the primary and secondary tracks are
distributed over an angular sector of approximately 180 °. But
they could extend over 180 °, even 360 °,
as required. The
exemple, la première zone annulaire 11.The primary tracks 8-i are placed beyond the track
The
To allow this contact, the cursor 7 (see Figures 3 and
5) includes projections 14-1 and 14-2 each comprising a
linear part substantially radial, extended, in
the example illustrated, by two arms 16-a and 16-b, of form
general circular, carrying at their end a
In the example illustrated, the
Preferably, the
Preferably, the
In this example, to minimize clutter,
the two projections 14 are substantially diametrically
opposite and their pairs of arms roll up, after folding,
in two opposite directions, one in the direction
clockwise and the other counterclockwise. The
Thanks to the 4 contact pads, worn in this example
realization by 4 arms, it is possible, when the
face.In the example illustrated, the first projection 14-1 is
intended to establish a double contact with the
To allow elastic contact, arms 16-a and 16-b
have an axial curvature obtained after the step of
cutting, by folding their
When the track game, and more precisely the track
secondary 9 is introduced between the two arms 16-a and 16-b
from the first projection 14-1, their
opposée portant le plot de contact 15.To minimize the radial footprint of the
The two arms 16-a and 16-b carried by the second projection 14-2,
are made according to the same principle as those worn by
the first projection 14-1. In this example, they only show,
however not identical lengths. The studs of
Thus, the arms 16-a and 16-b of the second projection 14-2 can establish either a double contact on the faces upper and lower of a primary track 8-i, i.e. two mono-contacts on the upper face of a track and the face lower of the neighboring track so as to short-circuit them without interrupting the power supply to the motor. In this last case (short circuit), the switch is between two of its predetermined positions but a current continues to circulate, which avoids electric arcs ensuring continuity of supply of the motor by a point contact.
piste secondaire d'alimentation 9. Aucune piste primaire 8-i
In the example illustrated in Figure 2, so that the
electrical switch either in a "rest" position (or
of deactivation), it is necessary that the 4 studs carried
by the two projections 14-1 and 14-2 are in contact with the
inférieure de l'une des pistes primaires 8-i.On the other hand, so that the motor is supplied with a
predetermined intensity, it is necessary that the two
contact 15.To allow this setting in the rest position, the four
plots respectifs. When the treasure hunt is introduced between the two
upper and lower levels of
primaire 8-i.
Of course, the respective shapes of the arms carried by the
protrusions depend on the shape chosen for each of the
tracks of the treasure hunt. The same goes for positioning
radial projections, which are not necessarily
positioned diametrically opposite. So, we
could provide two substantially protruding radial projections
superimposed one above the other, and bearing in
places spaced radially, or not, two arms intended to
each establish contact with the upper faces or
lower
14-1 et 14-2.Immobilization of the
figure 6.
parallèle à celui des pistes primaires 8-i et secondaire 9.Due to its particular architecture, a switch
according to the invention can also integrate tracks
services belonging to supply circuits
or other parts of the vehicle, such as
example lighting. Such a variant is illustrated on the
figure 6. Tertiary tracks 20-1 to 20-5 are here
held by the
We now refer more particularly to FIGS. 7 to 13 to describe a second embodiment of the invention, says bi-tablecloth.
primaires 8-i.
l'appellation de "bi-nappe".In this second embodiment, in order to reduce
the radial size, the
In this embodiment, unlike the first mode
described above, the annular parts of the
8-i primary tracks and the
d'alimentation 9.Thus, using the
piste secondaire d'alimentation. In this second embodiment, two variants can
be considered, depending on whether arms 16-a and 16-b of
radial projections 14 are located between the tracks
primary 8-i and the
It is quite obvious that the direction of the axial curvature of a
arm and the face on which the contact pad is formed
carried by this arm will depend on the variant chosen, so
that said
In this second embodiment, in order to obtain the
rest (or deactivation) position of the
pulser), which corresponds to a situation in which the
four
Just as illustrated with reference to Figure 6,
this second embodiment allows integration into the
tertiary tracks switch 20. These tertiary tracks
can be placed in the plane containing the track
It is obvious that the
primaires 8-i et de la piste secondaire d'alimentation 9.Just as in the first embodiment, the shapes
arms may vary according to the shape of the tracks
primary 8-i and
The track set illustrated in FIG. 8A is more particularly
suitable for managing a single function, such as
for example that of the outside air flow treated by the
kicker. To use the switch according to the invention in
bi-function mode, as illustrated in figure 15, it is
necessary to adapt the primary tracks 8-i of the figure
8A. Such an adaptation is illustrated in Figure 11. The
primary tracks 8-i are now spread over substantially
360 °. Runway 8-1 corresponds substantially to the
position 0 illustrated in FIG. 15, while the tracks
8-2 to 8-4 correspond to
The invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, but it includes all the variants that may develop a person skilled in the art within the framework of the claims below.
Thus, we have described a cursor carrying four plots of contact, but it is clear that this cursor can only carry three contact pads, provided that two of them are intended to establish a double contact on the primary tracks in the predetermined switch positions, while the third contacts the secondary feed track.
Furthermore, embodiments have been described in which, due to the arrangement of the primary tracks and the secondary supply track, the contact pads were all grouped together in the same region. But he is clear, that we can consider variants in which the contact pads are far apart.
