Abstract

The present invention refers to a system in the form of standards (1) and at these affixable carriers for shelves or the like, in which the respective standard (1) shows one along the standard running groove (2), the opposite sides of which (3) are placed in planes parallel with each other. The new and special with this invention is that the beforementioned sides (3) are provided with, as seen in the lengthwise of the standard, at a distance of each other arranged and from the outsides of the standard invisible slits (4) of limited length placed in pairs opposite each other in the groove (2) and that a carrier device (7), whose length is greater than the width of the groove and the height of which is less than the length of the slit, is arranged to facilitate the inserting in the groove (and be turned at the slits) to one across the groove (2) existing, in relation to the cross direction of the standard (1) mainly fixed position.

Description

Shelf system
This invention refers to a system in accordance with the introduction to Patent claim 1.
A great number of shelf systems are known fixed and dismountable ones as well as mountable systems for adaptation to various needs. Systems that show a definite form in a built-up state, fixed as well as mountable ones, give greater freedom in design and can therefore be made more pleasant in appearance. The more flexible a shelf system is, i.e. the more possibilities in combination and adaptation it gives, the more difficult it is to form the system in an aesthetically attractive wav.
The invention refers to a system in the form of standards and carriers for shelves or similar affixable at these, a system that gives extremely great flexibility in regard to mounting, placing of shelves as well as the use of various forms of shelves or the like. The system according to the invention can be mounted self-supporting, it can be feed to a wall by the standards with the shelves for example cantilever or the standards included in the system can be fully built into a wall.
This is made possible by the invention having got the characteristics given in the Patent claim.
The invention will be more closely described in the foπn of examples referring to the drawing, in which
Fig. 1 and 2 show two types of standards schematically in perspective.
Fig. 3 shows the carrier device included in the invention as seen from the side and in cross-section.
Fig. 4 and 5 show a type of cantilever console from the side and from above respectively. Fig. 6 and 7 show another type of cantilever console, the outer end of which is not drawn in order to save space, seen from the side and from above respectively.
Fig. 8 shows a filling included in the invention.
Fig. 9 shows a type of console fixed to the carrier device.
Fig. 10 shows another type of console fixed to the carrier device. Fig. 11 and 12 show a hook device, fixed to the carrier device seen from above and from one end.
Fig. 13 and 14 show a carrier device fixed to each end of a carrier, seen from aboλ e and from the side respectively.
Fig. 15 shows a split-up standard seen in section and built into a wall and Fig. 16 shows another split-up standard seen in section and built into a wall.
Fig. 1 shows schematically a part of a standard made of sheet profile. In principle this standard has the form of an angular U-section whose shanks are ben! inwards 180 degrees to form a groove 2. The sides defined in groove 2 are placed in plane parallel with each other. The respective side 3 is provided with a number of slits 4. which are of a limited length and are placed in line with each other. whereby the slits ofthe sides (3) are placed in pairs opposite each other. Fig 2 shows a standard 1, for example made of wood, which also shows groove 2 and the slits 4 in the sides 3 ofthe groove. In this case groove 2 is widened at the bottom in a T-shape (at 5) and the respective slit 4 open on top against this widening. The opening 6 of slit 4 against the widening 5 of groove 2 is of a height that is slightfy greater than the width of a carrier device 7, which will be later described.
Is this connection reference is made to the standard shown in Fig 1, which also shows the same widenings 5 through the shanks being bent backwards, forming the sides 3 of groove 2. finishing a bit from the rear wall ofthe standard. Although not shown openings 6 can be carried out between slits 4 and the widenings 5 also in this version.
In Fig 3 a carrier device 7 is shown . which has the form of a plane, continuous plate of for example metal. The rectangular plate 7 has preferably rounded corners and is provided with one elongated hole 8 shown in the example. The length 1 ofthe carrier device is greater than the width of groove 2 and the height h ofthe carrier device 7 is less than the length of slit 4. The thickness of the carrier device is somewhat less than the width of slit 4. The measures of carrier device 7 are more precisely so adapted that the carrier device with its lengthwise axis vertical can be inserted into groove 2 and in height with the opposite slits 4 be turned so that the carrier device 7 gets into contact with the lower edges of slits 4, as shown in Figs 1 and 2. To facilitate the handling ofthe canier device this is provided with a hole 8, in which some tool, for example simply a bent paper gem, can be inserted. At the forming of standard 1 with the widenings 5 (Fig 2) the carrier device 7 can be inserted into the bottom of groove 2 and there be tumed into a horizontal position and thereafter through the openings 6 in two opposite each other lying slits 4 be placed in these. As previously described the openings 6 have a height which is somewhat greater than the height h ofthe carrier device 7.
Figs 4 and 5 show a console 9 in the form of a round, elongated pin. that is fixed to a U-f ormed section 10. the outer width of which is somewhat less than the width of groove 2. The U-section shows a hook-shaped notch 11 in each shank. The console is mounted to the standard by the U-section being inserted into groove 2 with the opening ofthe hook-shaped notch 11 in heigth with the canier device 7 mounted in standard 1. When the U section has been fully inserted into groove 2 the U-section with the console can be brought downwards whereby the canier device 7 will take hold ofthe hook. Ie. behind the projection 12 of section 10.
Figs 6 and 7 show another type of console 9. This is made of pressed sheet-metal with a top flange 13 and a rear supporting flange 14. This console 9. which as can be seen in Figs 6 and 7 is not fully drawn, is to be mounted in the standard in the same way as the one in connection with Figs 4 and 5 described console with the difference though that the supporting flange 14 is allowed to interfere with the widening 5 of groove 2 At the hooking ofthe console into carrier device 7. by the hook-shaped notch 11 catching in behind the carrier device, the supporting flange 14 will in this way guide console 9. To keep console 9. which only has metal-sheet thickness, in place in groove 2 a filling provided with hooks 15, shown in Fig. 8, is used, which has a thickness corresponding to the width of groove 2 less the material thickness ofthe sheet-metal console. The filling is hooked onto carrier device 7 in the same way as has been previously described in connection with Figs 4 -7.
Fig, 9 shows a console 9 in the form of a rod material. to which carrier device 7 is directly fixed. This console is mounted when carrier de ice 7 has been brought in place in accordance with what has been previously described. Fig.10 shows another type of console. 9. This is. like the console in Figs 6 and 7. formed of sheet-metal with a top flange 13 and a supporting flange 14. The upper, towards the standard turned corner of console 9 is cut off and is a round material 16. welded on as shown in Fig. 10. This round material 16 which reaches freely out into the upper corner of console 9 supports at its free end a carrier device 7. By manoeuvenng carrier device 7 for its hooking into a standard 1. as previously described. also the console shown in Fig.10 will be brought in place with the supporting flange 14 in contact against the bottom of chute 2. Figs 11 and 12 show a hook device 17. which has the f oπτι of a rib 18 and one to the one end of this fixed carrier device 7 and to its other end a double hook 19. Since the carrier device 7 has been affixed in the standard, as previously described. with the double hooks 19 directed upwards, this hook dexice will serve to support in this case two adjacent corners of two shelves.

Fig. 15 shows a standard schematically in section as in Mg. 1 mounted into a wall or rather, as the figure shows, between two wall panels 23. The standard 1 itself is in its groove 2 opposite side dismountably parted, whereby the respective standard easily can be secured by screws to connecting panel 23 tor the mounting of this.
The respective standard half can be connected with a snap-in lock, as indicated in Fig.15.
According to Fig. 16 one standard half is screwed on to llange 24 fixed to the other standard half It will be understood that within the frame of the invention standards, carrier devices and carriers can be formed in several ways and the system according to the invention can he built in various wavs as has been mentioned in the introduction. Thus the carrier device can have another shape, for example consist of a round pin. The carriers in the form of sheet consoles can be provided with hooks directed sideways, which will be hooked into the slits 4. after which a filling 15 completes the mounting. It should be pointed out that the widenings as shown are not necessary for the basic idea ofthe invention but may facilitate the mounting. The carriers can furthermore be provided with supporting struts that reach down from the carrier to an underlying carrier device.

Claims

Patent claim
1. A system in the form of standards (1) and carriers 9 affixable at these for shelves or similar, whereby the respective standard 1 shows one along the standard running groove (2) whose opposite sides (3) are placed in plane parallel with each other c h a r a c t e r i z e d by the beforementioned sides (3) being provided with, as seen in the lengthwise direction ofthe standard, at a distance from each other arranged and on the outsides ofthe standards invisible slits (4) of limited length and placed in pairs opposite each other in groove (2), where a carrier device (7) whose length (I) is greater than the width ofthe groove and height (h) less than the length ofthe slit is arranged to be inserted, if required, in the groove (and be tumed in the slits) to one across the groove (2) existing, in relation to the cross-direction ofthe standard mainly fixed position.
2. System according to claim 1 characterized by the carrier device (7) having the shape of a plane, elongated plate, bridging the groove and forming support for one in the groove insertable end of a carrier (9) provided with one the carrier device hookablehook(ll).
3. System according to claim lcharacterized by the carrier device (7) having a carrier (9) firmly applied to it.
4. System according to any ofthe previous claims. c h a r a c t e r i z e d by the carrier having the form of a console (9).
5. System according to claim 3, characterized by the carrier being formed with a hook device (19) aimed at interfering with a comer of a shelf or similar.
6. System according to claim 3, characterized by the carrier unit (7) having a hook device (19) aimed at mterfering with a co er of a shelf or similar.
7. System according to claim 1. c h a r a c t e r i z e d by the carrier device (7) being ananged at each end of a carrier (20). aimed at extending between two standards (1).
8. System according to claim 2. characterized by the beforementioned end (10) having a thickness conesponding to the width of groove (2).
9. System according to claim 2. c h a r a c t e r i z e d by the beforementioned end of the carrier having a thickness substantially less than the width ofthe groove (Fig.6) and a filling provided with hooks (15) being ananged to be brought into groove (2) beside the beforementioned end.
10. System according to any ofthe previous claims. c h a r a c t e r i z e d by the groove (2) being widened in a T-form (5) at the bottom.
11. System according to claim 10, c h a r a c t e r i z e d by the respective slit (4) being open on top (6) towards the widening (5) with a measure corresponding to the height ofthe carrier device (7).
12. System according to any of the previous claims. c h a r a c t e r i z e d by the standard (1) being assembably divisible along its the groove opposite side.
