  • This invention relates to the field of packaging, and in particular it concerns presentation cases. It is common for some products to be sold in presentation cases which can serve as gift boxes in the event that the customer wishes to give the product to another person as a present and/or serve as a storage container for keeping the products safe from loss or damage. Products commonly sold in presentation cases are writing instruments, and the present invention is directed especially to a case suitable for writing instruments or similarly shaped elongate articles.
  • Writing instruments are frequently sold in sets, e.g. pen and pencil or ball pen and fountain pen, as well as individually. In general different presentation cases are needed for sets of writing instruments to those used for individual instruments. If a case adapted to receive two instruments is used for a single instrument, it can give the wrong impression that a second instrument should have been included, but has not been inserted into the case or has been removed.
  • U.S. Patent 4,244,660 discloses crayon holding clips which are attached side-by-side on a mounting strip which, in turn, is mounted on a support.

When supplied in a presentation case, a writing instrument needs to be held securely in the case so that it will not become dislodged and become free to move around in the case, which might result in surface damage. In addition, there is a need for the instrument to be easily removable and replaceable by the user.

  • the upper edges of the side walls are convex, but this is not essential and this shape is for aesthetic reasons only.
  • the side wall nearest the hinge of the gripping member shown fitted to the cover in Figs 1-3 has a notch 19 adjacent the shoulder 12 for defining with the cover wall 7 a groove which may be used to hold on the inside of the cover a removable information leaflet 20, or the like, which has an edge inserted into the groove.

Claims (12)

  1. Schreibetui (1,2) mit einer Klemmvorrichtung (10,11) zum Halten eines Schreibinstruments (P), wobei die Klemmvorrichtung eine Rinne aufweist, um einen Längsabschnitt des Instruments aufzunehmen, damit das Instrument zwischen den gegenüberliegenden Seitenwänden der Rinne eingespannt werden kann, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede der Seitenwände mindestens zwei seitwärts verformbare Elemente (16,23) einschließt, die entlang der Rinne zu einem federnden Eingriff mit dem Instrument beabstandet sind.
  2. Etui nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Seitenwände der Rinne aus elastomerem Material geformt sind und die seitwärts verformbaren Elemente auf den Seitenwänden nach innen gerichtete Vorsprünge (16) aufweisen.
  3. Etui nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede Seitenwand mindestens einen ersten, nach innen gerichteten Vorsprung aufweist, der in der einen Richtung entlang der Rinne in längsrichtung schräg gestellt ist, sowie mindestens einen zweiten, nach innen gerichteten Vorsprung aufweist, der in der anderen Richtung entlang der Rinne in Längsrichtung schräg gestellt ist.
  4. Etui nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Vorsprünge Rippen (16) sind und in benachbarten Paaren angeordnet sind, wobei die Rippen jedes Paares in der gleichen Längsrichtung schräg gestellt sind.
  5. Etui nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Vorsprünge nach innen weitgehend senkrecht zu der Länge der Rinne gerichtet sind.
  6. Etui nach einem der vorgenannten Ansprüche 2 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Vorsprünge Rippen (16) aufweisen, die angrenzend von den freien Kanten der Seitenwände zu der Unterseite der Rinne verlaufen.
  7. Etui nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass an jeder Seitenwand zwei Paare von benachbarten Rippen vorgesehen sind.
  8. Etui nach einem der vorgenannten Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Seitenwände seitlich durch Teile (14) aus steiferem Material verstärkt sind, die an dem Etui fest angeordnet sind.
  9. Etui nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Seitenwände Schultern (12) außerhalb der Rinne und von der Rinnenöffnung abgewandt festlegen, und dass in den Seitenwänden Einsätze (13) festgelegt sind, die sich an diesen Schultern zur Aufnahme der verstärkenden Teile (14) öffnen.
  10. Etui nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Seitenwände mit dem Etui einstückig und geschlitzt (21) sind, um seitwärts verformbare Elemente in der Form von federnden Fingern (23) mit freien Enden an der Rinnenöffnung festzulegen.
  11. Schreibetui nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Klemmvorrichtung auf einem Unterteil (1) des Etuis befestigt ist und dass ein Deckel (2) des Etuis mit dem Unterteil (1) über eine Gelenkverbindung (3) verbunden ist und beweglich ist zwischen einer geöffneten Stellung, in der die Klemmvorrichtung exponiert ist, und einer geschlossenen Stellung, in der die Klemmvorrichtung im Inneren des geschlossenen Unterteils und Deckels umschlossen ist.
  12. Etui nach Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine weitere Klemmvorrichtung auf dem Deckel (2) befestigt und darauf so positioniert ist, dass in der geschlossenen Stellung des Deckels jeweils von der Klemmvorrichtung auf dem Unterteil und der Klemmvorrichtung auf dem Deckel gehaltene Artikel nebeneinander liegen.
